The 2024 Longshot Thread

With you 100 percent on both Go Dante and Kihavah.

Go Dante improved for a wind op last season. Notably on his second start. This is his second start after another wind operation. He must have a good each way chance. The more cut in the ground the better.

I find myself unable to let Our Champ go unbanked in this (25/1 Bet365 4 places). He’s got plenty to find for sure but has a squeak IMO as his run last time may have been better than the bare result given Freddie Gordon had no option but to send him on sooner than he wanted when the others who raced prominently faded. He might just get taken further into the race today but I’m probably being blindly optimistic

I've been busy, did anyone see what happend with Go Dante?

For a usually consistent horse it was a weird run.

I hope he's not injured himself.

Hope he's okay.

Three in the one race today:

Leo 3.05

Kings Hill 50/1 6 places
Shadow Rider 50/1 ditto
Lucky Lyreen 50/1 ditto

I'm not a big fan of RPRs for Irish racing but there's an extent to which I trust a lot of work has gone into compiling them so I do usually check where RPRs are with the big handicaps.

The above three are top or within 4lbs of the top on RPRs and the first two are ridden by good claimers so I'm assuming they are over-priced. It doesn't cost much to find out at those odds.

Sergeant 2.05 Wincanton tomorrow.
I thought this one looked Interesting.
Finished a distant 3rd in a better race than this last time out over course and distance
The small stable are going well and 20/1 looks a big price in a moderate looking race.
