The 2025 Eclipse Stakes

The last two days of the Ebor meeting were abandoned due to waterlogging so its not unheard of.
A friend of mine who lives on the estate at the back of the course (where the Terry's building stood) regularly walks his dog on the knavesmire.
He was telling me that when they were doing remedial works to the drainage system he got talking to one of the contractors.
Surprise Surprise the contractor said the work was taking longer than expected as they were doing it 'on the cheap' as no-one would see it when the turf was replaced!!!!!

I didn't have a bet in Frankel's International, but I think these are the words of a lover of racing, not betting.

That's fair enough, but it misunderstands the other crew - when a horse is tens on trying a new trip, a value-seeking punter is entitled to ask the question regarding its stamina.
The only value seeking should have been which underlings will fill the tricast!

Having criticised Simon Rowlands for his tendency to bitch about the work and views of others, I'm saying literally F-all (which is quite possibly a lifetime first for me). 😂

Many thanks for sharing links to what these fellas think, Maurice! 😂👍

No one cares that Delacroix is an outcross for Coolmore—he’s either a good horse or he isn’t. Breeding might matter to stallion men, but it doesn’t make a horse more interesting to the rest of us. And by Monday, the race had already been analysed to death.

I'm actually very taken with his take. :D

Especially the pedigree bit because as he says, this horse is massively important for them now as a sire as he completely lacks Galileo in both sire and dam line which makes him a fair old rarity these days. And now he's a G1 winner at 1m2, that makes him even more desirable as a stallion for Coolmore to send their raft of Galileo mares too. Plus he's a stunning looking horse with a blistering turn of foot. Small wonder Aiden was jibbering more than just "Listen" afterwards.

They paid around €50 million for Wootton Bassett for the same outcross—so it’s hardly a new tactic. They’re absolutely desperate for an outcross sire to cover the million Galileo mares they own. Using Dubawi must kill those miserable, greedy old bastards.

Apparently, in a gesture worthy of Emperor Nero, Coolmore sent as many as 150 of their own broodmares to Justify last year.

Exactly. If Justify flops, he’ll do so dying for the cause—buried under a mountain of Galileo mares like a true Coolmore martyr.

Leave me to my basking in the glory of my beautiful Del Boy! Stop trying to taint him or the whole concept of why he's now the "best horse they have ever had....".:LOL: I just want him to go to Goodwood so I can drool over him in the flesh.

I'll be shocked if he goes for the Sussex ahead of the The Lion In Winter.. I'm assuming his main aim is the Irish Chlampion Stakes and then America.

It simply makes sense for coolmore going forward. There is no guarantee any top racehorse will become a top stallion. Delacroix is a dude and certainly is a great outcross for them but the way Wooton Bassett is flying and justify plus Australia and camelot still doing well its getting a bit crowded. Only so many galileo mares to go around.

Maybe delacroix Sussex and camille to the juddmonte. If delacroix wins the Sussex his stallion prospects look very rosy. Maybe wishful thinking on some folks behalf.
