Making the game pay long-term has always been infinitely more important to me than trying to show everyone how bloody clever I might think I am.

I genuinely wished you good luck with your bet (though I was puzzled as to why you couldn't organise getting on at a better price) and your refusal to chill out and respond in kind is disappointing, though not entirely surprising.

You're not for me and I'm not for you - in the interests of forum harmony I won't respond to you further, no matter how many more threads you follow me round on.

The 22/1 was the best price for actual money, something you wouldn't have a clue about because you don't actually bet. There is no one on this forum that has even come close to how high I've bet so pipe the f%*& down you stupid c***..

Suspend the account. Ian can have the forum to himself. It's no harm to point out what a handicap he is.
 
Slim, no one on here is trying to deny you any opportunity to express your opinion. Most of us would defend your right to express it but if how you go about it breaks the forum rules then the mods should act.

I reckon most of us have been glad to see you back after your extended absence as strong views are always welcome additions to discussions.

Do you have issues with expressing your views within the rules?

Maurice, I don't really care either way. I just don't like people who are condescending and Ian drips condescension. He's a big reason why a lot of people left the forum.
 
Probably nobody on a forum will like everybody else either personally or for ow they come across.

I'm reminded of the Chewing the Fat sketch where the guys are going round places, pointing out colleagues to a newcomer and saying, "Good guy, good guy, wank, good guy, " etc.

I find forums (and even my old duffers club) a lot like that. I have my opinion on a lot of people on the various forums of which I've been a member but the older I get the less I see any point in expressing it. I'm more focused on the point they're trying to make and look past the personality because somewhere in their posts they might draw attention to something I might not have thought of and it could be of value to everyone, which, for me, is one of the great values of a forum such as this one.

I'm all for heated debate, as Mrs Merton would have put it, but I'm all in favour of it being conducted within the rules.

I've made my point. He can't speak to me like I'm some stupid five year old. Especially given his betting IQ is far lower than his TedTalk posts.

That's pretty much unnecessary. This is a community, and in this community you don't call other members c-words, tits and other nonsense. There are loads of visitors here every day logging in, and when they see that sort of undisciplined trash talk - well, do you think they are going to sign up and join the cheeriness? Nope, I don't think so.

If you have issues with certain members, there are other ways to deal with it. You can use the ignore feature, or perhaps request a private forum where only you and you mates can join. IDK - but just don't go slagging off on folks. Thanks! :thumbsup:

In to 10s generally, shorter in a place or two and 12s in a couple of places. That's quite a move in the space of a day or so and effectively disputing favouritism.

Pricewise tipped The Liffey 22/1 in his Pricewise column today. Also tipped Orazio (interesting) 33/1 and Annaf 25/1 for the Wokingham (both now 20’s). Still too early for me though.
