NM gone Obama? I'll hav eto run off to my predictor. I think I got that wrong. I think I got Ohio wrong too
 
CNN have called it at least. Indiana down to 7000 votes. Obama has about 30k to come from the cities...

Ah........ 'Democrats abroad on BBC'....... yes thats who I used to get my votes (they were legit Americans though). Registering voters has been a well known tactic
 
Right, I'm off to bed.

It's been an historical occasion, but I'm still to be convinced. But hey, I'll wake tomorrow, and I'll still be unemployed
 
CBS and CNN just went.

EDIT: after looking at the county-by-county again, I'm rather more optimistic! Three biggest counties all in (including St. Louis with remainder mostly rural that would be expected to go McCain, especially in the south of the state).

Big chance McCain could lose Arizona BTW. Are you Al Gore in disguise?

I think he's a genuinely decent fella in honesty, but perhaps history will put him down as a candidate who couldn't win (aka McGovern, Dukakis, Goldwater or Mondale). The post mortem might be interesting, and I suspect his mad moose shooter will appear prominently, but ultimately his mishandling of the financial crisis where he looked indecisive and paralysed with doubt was when the tracker really moved against him. I didn't see Colorado going, but I'm still hung over and have just restarted my third bottle of wine.

I should also credit the people of America too. I've certainly raised my doubts about them, and where as I'm under no illusions about the hand that Obama's been dealt, they certainly emerge this morning as a stronger body than they looked a few days ago
 
When amercians congraulated us on booting out a deadbeat socialist goverment in 1979, did you welcome their point of view....or at least appreciate it

...or was it seen as a bit patronising?
 
In terms of what it ushered in........ what do you think. A truly shocking and very devisive Prime Minister the mad mongoose prooved to be whose unfortunate 'me, me , me' legagcy still troubles the country today

The idea that Obama is going to ruin the economy is far fetched. He has surrounded himself with old Clinton people and I remember the American economy being pretty good back then.

Do I think Obama is going to usher in a completely new world? No, but I think he will point America in the right direction again and whats more it will be the way he does it that will have the most effect.
