The NH Season 2013 /2014.........proper

Impressive yesterday EDGT and those Lemonfield maidens are usually very very decent affairs with the likes of Last Instalment (I think) winning there and of course the highly touted (but very disappointing) Teelin Star in recent years.

The form of his maiden looks good too with the fourth On Blueberry Hill winning a bumper next time out and subsequently selling for serious money.

On Blueberry Hill £250,000 (Brightwells, April)

Bought by Aiden Murphy and to be trained by Paul Nicholls.

NTD really pleased with The New One at home , the word ecstatic has been used  and sounds as if there's a race at Kempton next month in mind.

Interesting list. Very much looking forward to seeing Chatterbox tackle a fence. Considering the Neptune was a bit of an after thought and he hurdled poorly at times in the race he wasn't beaten that far. Have him at 25s for the Jewson. NRFB.

Henderson says he will remain over hurdles to contest h'caps this season.

Presumably this is just the Croft Original talking. He'll be handicapped to the hilt.

He may change his mind or he may think he's well h'capped over hurdles but his trainer comments in Jumping Prospects http://jumpingprospects.co.uk/ after giving a run down of the horses achievements, Henderson says, "He will remain over hurdles to contest h'caps this season."

Considering he's only 5yo has had only 3 runs over hurdles beating Milord 4 1/2L giving that horse 16lbs and Milord was 4th in Fred Winter - beating My Tent Or Yours 4 1/2L receiving 5lbs - then finishing 4th behind The New One in the Neptune Investment Hurdle and on an O/R 143, I'm inclined to think he's on a very nice mark.

Going to run a FF / TH Ten To Follow comp this season starting Nov 1st ending May 3rd. Been compiling a list of 100 horses ( got 93 at the minute) , ten horses to a list, each entrant one list only.

Anyone that could offer a prize (s) that would be good :D

Didn't realise his OR was only 143, Swedish - probably is nicely-handicapped off that mark.

A good idea might be to include a wild card where the contestant could put in a horse maybe not on your list?

Teelin Star entered in the beginners chase at Sligo tomorrow

Had a big reputation last year and will be interesting to see if he's got over the problems he obviously had (PU and then withdrawn lame from his last race)

Having read Jumping Prospects I'm a little concerned that the author had been on the sauce. There are a few glaring errors and mixed up quotes.

Sandown's 2014 bet365 Gold Cup day will be an all-jumps card, with prize-money significantly boosted for the two-day meeting

Think Martin was big on this one at some stage previously. One to avoid for me until he proves himself to be in rude health

Sadly I was Granger - wouldn't touch him with a thirty foot stick at the moment, would appear to be a horse who needs a very soft lead and anything else screws him up (also had physical issues and the like too - hence the non-sale for a ridiculous amount of money in 2012).

Martin I'm seeing 18/1 for Rival D'estruval for Foxhunters. Is he deffo going hunting?

The owner is quoted in the Mark Howard One Jump Ahead Book which is a great read and good value compared to some of the crap out there:

"I consider that we have some unfinished business with Rival D'Estruval at Cheltenham. We have therefore decided to go for the Foxhunters as his principle target this season. He will be starting off in a P2P at Alnwick later this year, then a Hunter Chase to qualify. Derek O'Connor will hopefully be in the saddle again"

Ta - i'll be putting him in an ew treble with First Leiutenant (14s) and one other tbc.

There's no race for First Loot at the Festival.....Cue Card too good in the Ryanair and Bobs too good in the Gold Cup......unless you reckon CC will go Gold Cup route after winning the King George?

EW Grassy. I see FL as the main danger to Bobs in GC and the price looks big to me. In other GREAT NEWS from the BHA. All Weather fixtures to be reduced by 21 meetings and 13 meetings have been added to the Jumps. Progress at last....

If SDC stays sound, you would have to think he'd be the Jiggytime representative in the Gold Cup, no?
