The Road to the Grand National 2018

If this need a removing so be it, it's a question from a friend.

If you bought Steeplechase enclosure tickets for National day, reckon it'll be easy enough to sneak into Tattersalls? Not that I would promote such things, but I also don't promote paying 100 a ticket off touts.

In their wisdom Sky TV have decided to schedule the Liverpool v Bournemouth match at 5.30pm on the day of the GN which is due off at 5.15pm leaving Merseyside police to deal with over 120,000 people on the roads, at the stations and at Aintree and Anfield. Utter stupidity.

To be honest, the football kicking off at 5.30 is probably better than 3.00. Sunday is the anniversary of Hillsborough so that's not considered an option.

The police say they can handle it and I prefer to take their word for it rather than that of the mayor who is a somewhat attention seeking Everton supporter.

Seeyouatmidnight who had an entry at The Festival was taken out at the 5 day stage. Kelso is off tomorrow so he still needs to run in a chase to qualify for the National.

Still not run, latest entry at Kelso today scuppered by the weather again.

Definitly Red not going for the National now, going for the Bowl instead.

Seeyouatmidnight (No 24) might struggle to find a chase to run in to qualify, nothing been arranged oop North it seems.

Roddy's horse (No 61) looks a hopeless cause now unfortunately

I've decided i'm probably barking up the wrong tree with Thunder And Roses, I'm now looking at Captain Redbeard. He's improved a lot in his last two runs at Haydock. Those performances have seen his mark increase enough to stand a chance of making the cut. He's currently 59 on the list. If anyone can offer opinions on his chances of making the cut, it'd be appreciated.

He might be a better horse on testing going, but who knows, he may get this. Surely if he were with a Nicholls or Twiston Davies he'd be half his current price. 100/1 is an insult, although I'd rather take 66/1with Betfred NRNB, given it will be in the lap of the gods whether he'll make the cut.
Looks like Captain Redbeard will get in. I will have back this quite soon at the ridiculous prices they're offering on him. Shantou Flyer is still in, I'd back him on the day out of loyalty but would still rather they pulled him out and ran him in the Bet 365 Gold Cup at Sandown two weeks later.

Despite a couple of ante-post reverses already, the biggest being a pretty substantial ew on Noble Endeavor at 50/1, I'm not too unhappy with the ante-post ones I have still going after yesterday's forfeit stage.

The Last Samuri 40/1
I Just Know 100/1
Tenor Nivernais 250/1
Tiger Roll 50/1
Virgilio 100/1
