The "Won't Win" Thread

The old bugger did me, even though I thought he was cooked.

The Moore runner went very short in running.

I don't think it's much of a record tbh. 64k in win prize money in 7 years from 26 wins is pretty awful really.

If he's so concerned about the horses legs, just retire it. Been going on about the horses legs for years, yet runs it in a 37k h/cap at Ascot. The caring owner really doesn't wash with me.

I would strongly disagree with you about his record -how many people will ever get to own a horse that will win 26 races-often in an exciting fashion. He might not have landed any notable gambles or won any significant races but there were 26 days the owners could have put on their best clothes, gone racing and ended up in the winners enclosure.

It's just not great for racing in general. 11 runs, 11 wins at 1/2 or less might be good for the owners, but it's dreary stuff.

I don't mind him running in sellers/ claimers but he's constantly moans about the chance of losing him.

I was referring to his record in relation to having the most a/w wins , Luke. A horse rated in the upper 80's running against banded horses just doesn't excite me.

At least the old Chaplins Club and Glencroft ran in h/caps.

Different opinions make the game.La Estrella ran in a 2 mile handicap at The Curragh on an Irish Classic weekend in 2011 with Pat Smullen riding -they couldn't get enough of him in the market.I remember place laying him on Betfair for the balance of my account which is usually a fairly hairy experience but he never looked like getting into contention.
Chaplins Club,Glencroft and Soba in particular were different gravy.

Cheltenham 2014-likely FAVS. that won't win

Hurricane Fly
Big Bucks
Quevega
Ballycasey
Faugheen
Big Shu
Salsify
Shaneshill
Vautour
Calipto

Ths thread generally for opposing 6/4 chances and below......not boldly opposing 10/1 chances and the like. ;)

As much as I rate Don Cantillon, I'm going to go against his La Estrella here in the 2.20 Wolv. I think that Lingfield the last day was a tough race for him and I can see Stand Guard stalking him and passing him in the shadow of the post.
