My oldest friend - who I occasionally refer to here as "Leafy," dislikes that phrase and much prefers: "It is what you make of it."

And I agree with him.

For sure, things are what they are, but it's what you make of things being what they are that counts.

Point taken - tbf to my friend he was simply talking about the nature of an edge changing and adapting to it.

Statement of the bleedin' obvious, no doubt, but something some seem to struggle with.

I read and hear many people deploring change in racing and betting, rather than simply adapting to it.
