Tingle Creek

Agreed. The Denman would be perfect.

Pic D'Orhy will be a fair yardstick for him at Kempton, but you'd want to see him going past pretty comfortably if he's going to have proper G1 aspirations again.

Shishkin is now reported to have had a soft palate issue which they will be sorting out. It’s a far more common problem than people realise and yet sometimes it goes undetected. Nico apparently heard him “flipping” it and it can be hard to actually hear...often if you’re riding work on another horse alongside it, you can hear it better. I got quite adept at listening out for them (I used to reach for a tongue tie first rather than cauterising the palate)

*the soft palate is basically the back of the tongue and the whole part can slip back and cover the windpipe so restricting the airflow.

As Hendo says...it’s probably been happening for a while. I imagine they will cauterise it and the horse will be a lot happier as a result.

Acceptors for Clarence House are as follows (you won't need a pen):

Amarillo Sky
Edwardstone
Energumene

The race is worth a hundred grand to the winner. Connections of Amarillo Sky are to be congratulated for having the vision to leave him in the race, and jog round for what is sure to be very-respectable 3rd-place prize-money (probably in the order of £20K), a couple of furlongs behind the principals.

This looks one possible example of when not to back the outsider of the three!

That said, Amarillo Sky is in good form and should have a nice run round. I had/have him on my radar for the Grand Annual, so not sure if this entry helps or hinders that plan, or makes no difference at all.

Be interesting to see where he finishes in relation to the Grade 1 pair.

It's like all WPM's birthdays have come at once. Edwardstone has to be held up or at least normally is.

That means Energymene can bowl along at his own pace and when Paul says go this race will be over before it started,

Biggest certainty since Arkle won the 1966 Gold Cup. 4/6?? bookies have gone nuts should be 1/5
