Top 3 Albums

Misplaced Childhood - Marillion
Hunting High and Low - Aha
And I’ll take The Best of Blur as my third if I may :)
Failing that, I’ll go for Popped In Souled Out or Picture This ( both Wet Wet Wet)

Albums that are amazing but people might not have heard of (I just can't resist)

LOL where do I start?

Crazy Horse- Crazy Horse (1971)
Dory Previn - Mythical Kings & Iguanas (also 1971)
Tommy Bolin - Teaser (1975)
Tom Verlaine- Tom Verlaine (1979)
etc etc

I'll give you three proper obscure albums that I love and all available on Spotify

Natural Snow Buildings - Terror's Horns
Bardo Pond - Ticket Crystals
Religious Knives - Resin

Well, if it’s compilations then Kinks greatest hits
I was tired of waiting for you to mention the Kinks...you really got me there😂😂😂😂
Deacon Blue -you are a surprise package.35 years after I first heard them I'm still not sure what I think about them.
Guess you had to be there. They performed "Dignity" in the SEC centre in Glasgow in December 1989 and then after splitting up for 5 years the got back together and it was like they were never gone. Ricky Ross never sang a word of the first verse on their return to Glasgow..all doubts about their popularity were squashed as the audience did and it was reckoned and if you didn't know the words they reckon you weren't Scottish...😉 Awesome live band

For one of my Christmas presents one year my wife bought me a single ticket (billy no mates) so I could go to see Deacon Blue in Sheffield - that's love for you😘. They were as good as I'd hoped they would be.

The brother saw them play The Mean Fiddler in 1989 and said they were phenomenal -especially Ricky Ross.

I like all types of music which changed as I got older.
I could never afford LPs but the first one i bought i got banned from playing downstairs but i thought Joan Baez was amazing.
:)
These days the most played is Creedence clearwater revival and I discovered Jeff Healey and I do like some good guitar playing.

And like you Mo I think I've got some ktel in the attic.

The Smith -The Smiths 1982
Holy Bible - Manic Street Preachers 1994
Fear Of A Black Planet - Public Enemy. 1990

A very sad story about my music collection...I lost so many LP's including a couple of bootleg Beatles albums, Uriah Heep Ezra Mohawk, and many other along with thousands of racing photos of my horses my days at racing and my late friend Tony Charlton. I had backed Little Polvier in the Scottish National to win 15k. I decided to renovate my house and add an extension. All my LP and pics were in a big cardboard box which my then Girlfriend sat it inside the garage next to the wheelie bin...I assume the binmen thought it was rubbish and took the lot away..lost years of memories.😭

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Bloodletting by Concrete Blonde (alternative US rock band I was into back in the day)
Singing to Strangers by Jack Savoretti

No wonder you dumped her!

Anyway, here are my three choices for today. Tomorrow it will differ.

3. Hunky Dory, Bowie
2. Nevermind, Nirvana
1. Blood on the Tracks, Zimmerman.

Miles Davis, Kind Of Blue

Joni Mitchell, Hejira

B B King, Live in Cook County Jail

Kind Of Blue will always be top of the list, positions two and three are open to rotation. Next week’s, for the season that’s in it, will be The Chieftains, Bells of Dublin and Loreena McKennitt, To Drive The Cold Winter Away.
