The overnight rain in Kent has melted the remaining snow, the frost is coming out of the ground, I've been out in the garden and am looking for something else to do. I've looked for hunter chase qualifications previously and found the above on Information on Hunter Chases and the British Horseracing Authorities on-line entry system.

From 1 October 2024 Unexpected Party has finished second in one Class 1 chase ( 2025 Grand Annual ) and second in three Class 2 chases ( two at Carlisle and one at Windsor), and hasn't achieved a top three placing in Grade 1s or Grade 2s. The Aintree hunter chase could be a long-term target.

Thanks - been busy wrestling with the accounts or rather procrastinating but hadn't got this far

More positive news …….. I have negotiated with ALL the racecourses where Pointing Pointers are sponsoring Hunterchase’s that we can have FOC a stand promoting Point to Point racing …….fair play to them they can see the importance of Pointing to NH racing.

The whole decline in standards of jump racing in the UK came about because they weren’t giving enough opportunities to younger horses to win enough prize money to at least pay for themselves.

But British prize money for bumpers, juvenile and maiden hurdles and beginners chases, and graded races for such horses, has increased in the last couple of years to the point where it is now close to catching up again with Ireland or even going ahead.

Point to point racing is part of the mix that indirectly makes it attractive to own young horses in Britain again, so well done in your initiative.

Thank you what we are doing is very very minimal but at least we are trying do do something where as the people who are just keyboard warriors gloat at the demise of pointing and do sod all.

Tbh Gordon you could tell from the amount of people trying to grab hold of you at Chaddersly that you are making a decent impact for the sport. You seemed very much appreciated and respected by all and sundry.

Keep up the good work.

Why thank you Danny. I find it satisfying to to able to put something back into a sport I love from my low level. You hear so many people saying that it is a sport for people with a silver spoon and that you have to be part of the rich society to be a part of it !! Absolute b*//*£&s as I hope you found at Chaddesley with the people we were chatting with nobody cared and just accepted us for who we were.

Only 29 runners at Ampton with a very disappointing crowd. Glorious day quite exciting racing on ground that imo was the best I have ever seen there. Betting wise even Steven for me only 3 bets. Plus side another £100 donated in cash to me for The Hunterchase Sponsorship 🤪🤪🤪

There is a chance that I might but can’t guarantee have a pass available for Ludlow on Thursday if anyone is interested drop me a DM first come first served basis.

Cracking day's racing at Larkhill yesterday with big fields (58 runners in total)
I really do love Larkhill. It is an exceptional place for a course with so much space. Big crowd too for a January and loads of trade stands. Plus it was the Royal Artillery meeting so a good number of soldiers there plus they had a stand and were wandering around chatting to the public. Real feel-good day.
The racing was great too with Grace A Vous Enki winning his ninth race there out of 9 visits - clearly loves the place.
Lucas Murphy took advantage of a last fence fall by his market rival and took the Novice Riders (this race has been referred to the BHA though due to wrong weights being published so he could lose that) on the former Pual Nicholls Histrionic. Nicholls was surprised the horse had won as he was considered a bit of a dodgepot in the yard but he won well. Either way Lucas looks to be the star talent within the new jockey ranks and although the fav fell, he was giving his mount some rousting so may have got up to win in any case. He is TImmy Murphy's son and has ridden plenty of Pony Racing winners. He's also quite small for a jockey so I can see weight not being an issue and him turning conditional as soon as his Dad thinks he's ready. He's going in my notebook!

All to do with office based error. The Planner didn't go out for proofing so there are some bad errors in there and the office doesn't seem to be picking them up in time.

For those that would like to get some kind of experience of a Point to Point without leaving their home on Sunday the Heythrop meeting from Cocklebarrow is being livestreamed on You Tube :cheerleader:
