The overnight rain in Kent has melted the remaining snow, the frost is coming out of the ground, I've been out in the garden and am looking for something else to do. I've looked for hunter chase qualifications previously and found the above on Information on Hunter Chases and the British Horseracing Authorities on-line entry system.

From 1 October 2024 Unexpected Party has finished second in one Class 1 chase ( 2025 Grand Annual ) and second in three Class 2 chases ( two at Carlisle and one at Windsor), and hasn't achieved a top three placing in Grade 1s or Grade 2s. The Aintree hunter chase could be a long-term target.

More positive news …….. I have negotiated with ALL the racecourses where Pointing Pointers are sponsoring Hunterchase’s that we can have FOC a stand promoting Point to Point racing …….fair play to them they can see the importance of Pointing to NH racing.

The whole decline in standards of jump racing in the UK came about because they weren’t giving enough opportunities to younger horses to win enough prize money to at least pay for themselves.

But British prize money for bumpers, juvenile and maiden hurdles and beginners chases, and graded races for such horses, has increased in the last couple of years to the point where it is now close to catching up again with Ireland or even going ahead.

Point to point racing is part of the mix that indirectly makes it attractive to own young horses in Britain again, so well done in your initiative.
