Where were they?

If they cant protect people as vulnerable as this, then they should all fck off now with their fat pensions...

Aboslutely disgraceful....

As for the youths, well I have said i am against capital punishment of course, but a couple of them hanging from lamposts with the crows picking their eyes out as their scum parents are made to watch would not be the saddest sight i have ever seen

But RIp you brave and caring lady and your lovely daughter

Not just the police, I think some of the locals in that area should be ashamed of themselves, but never mind, it just shows how uncaring and spiteful our so called civilised society is.
To be fair though, if someone had given these yobs the hiding they deserved, the little bastards would immediately get all the help they needed to make an assault case stick.

you are starting to see where i am coming from Clive now

i told you..there are lots of cases where extermination is the only possible outcome required

This next parable started with a man asking Jesus a question. The man who asks Jesus a question is very smart and was maybe trying to trick Jesus and see if he was a good teacher or not. This is what he asked, "Teacher, what should I do so I can go to Heaven and live forever?"
Jesus replied, "What is written in the Bible? What do you think?" The man answered, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself."
"That is right!" Jesus said. "Do this and you will live forever in Heaven." But the man wanted to know more so asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"
Jesus decided to answer this question with a parable to help everyone who was listening understand. Jesus said: There once was a Jewish man walking along a road. He was coming from Jerusalem and was heading to Jericho, which was a full day or two of walking.
The road was rocky and there were small hills all around. The man was just humming to himself and enjoying the nice day when suddenly a group of men jumped out from behind a hill. They took all his belongings and tore off most of his clothes. They didn't want him to follow them so they beat him up very badly, and left him lying and bleeding on the side of the road.
A few minutes later a priest was walking down the same path and noticed the man lying on the side of the road. Do you know what he did? You'd think he would run over and help the man. Instead he crossed the road and walked on the other side and acted like he didn't see the man.
About an hour or so later another man called a Levite was walking down the road. Levites were people that assisted priests with their work. He would probably help the man. But you know what he did? He slowed down and walked a little closer to the man, but then kept walking without helping him at all.
You might be thinking that maybe the man lying by the side of the road looked like he was resting or something, that's why the priest and the Levite didn't stop to help. The trouble is, it was easy to tell he was badly hurt. The man was bleeding, had most of his clothes ripped off him, and he was bruised and hardly breathing.
Just a few minutes later another man came walking. He was a Samaritan. One thing you should know about Samaritans is that Jews didn't like them. Jews usually didn't treat Samaritans very well, so they never got along. The man who was dying on the road was a Jew. So what do you think the Samaritan did? You'd think he would walk by and maybe even laugh at the man.
But as soon as he saw the man he went over to him and felt compassion for him. He put bandages on his sores and poured oil and wine (which were quite expensive) on the sores to prevent them from getting worse. Then he lifted the man on his own donkey and took him to a hotel to take care of him.
The next day the Samaritan took out enough money so the man could stay at the hotel until he was well enough to leave. He paid the man at the front desk and asked him to take care of the man. If he wasn't better after about two months the Samaritan would come back and pay for any extra cost.
After Jesus finished the story he asked, "Which of the three men do you think was a neighbor to the man who was left beaten on the side of the road?"
The man who asked him the question at the beginning replied, "The one who had compassion and helped him." Jesus told him, "Go and do the same."

Is that from a "trendy" American bible, Walsworth? The kind that suggests that Jewish people had a bible 2000 years ago. I f***ing hate those.

But I do agree with Clive, and even EC1, about this. This whole story, and goodness knows how many like it, is a crying shame.

the bible has a lot to answer for many of the problems in society today tbh..turn the other cheek..for instance..it doesn't really work does it?..because as in this case the scum continued with the harassment for years

whereas..if they had been removed years ago..the misery would have stopped

the bible has no worth in todays society whatsover because we have people that are sub human and are beyond any redemption whatsoever...when we decide that as a society we need to harden up against this evil instead of rewarding it with no/ineffective punishment...we may make it possible for decent people to live in peace

all the bible bashing idealists need to move out of their sleepy suburbs and look at some of the vermin that inhabit our larger cities and towns..maybe someone then might like to write a new bible thats more relevant to life today

better still..crime and punishment needs totally reforming in this country

what do you mean "even"?

just to add

these type of scenarios turn up quite often..no doubt whatsoever who the guilty ones are..no wrongful arrests etc..ideal types for being put to sleep I would suggest?

although I do like Clive's punishment better in this instance

As my barber in Kentish Town used to say crap parents crap kids.I think hard time is the answer-hard physical work 8 hours a day.

Clivex - one minute you describe Iranian society as 'revolting', now you're strongly advocating hanging British kids from lamp posts to have their eyes pecked out, while their parents are forced to watch. You're clearly not 'against capital punishment' if you really think that such a sight would be acceptable. I suppose you say these wild things because you know that British justice will never apply them - perhaps what you're advocating is Deep South-style lynching? You've got some strange standards of ethics, if I may say so.

Yes. All society's ills stem from the bible. We should kill whoever wrote it in the first place. And we should kill all who follow its teachings. Now, where have we heard that recently....

Krizon

I obviously wasnt advocating that as a solution. But it is the immediate emotional response

DO
We hear that from some of those that follow the Koran

Reading more of the story today, I would make a calculated guess that the poice are (as if often the case) close to the families involved and thats why they didnt take action

The word filth has never been more appropiate

can't see where killing those that wrote it was mentioned?....having a vivid imagination is surely no crime is it?

the problem with people is demonstrated on this thread..we have people who comit these crimes who are actually barely human..their crimes outrage people..but the outraged just accept it..and actually think worse of people who have a more extreme view than themselves.

being soft does not give anyone the moral high ground..it just makes you soft..and a soft society will have to put up with this sort of thing week in week out..simply because there is no punishment

Gareth..if you don't like the idea of killing scum like this..then what exactly do you propose we do with them?

I can guarantee any of you that if you had lived near this sort of thing you wouldn't be so happy to accept it

as a society we should be looking to remove people like this from society..by one means or another...alternatively.. if people are happy with the justice system..as it appears reading views on this forum..bar a couple of folk..then don't be bleating about it..its gonna be happening a lot

Two immediately solutions to this particular problem

1. Finish the careers of the incompetent and possibly corrupt police involved. Make sure that everyone in chain of command who was aware of what happened is fired with zero pension rights. Also seek to prosecute those closest.

This would alert the filth to their true responsibilities

2. There was one family in particualr where the parents endorsed the harrassment. Name them. Leak the address and all details. Name and shame. Put it across the papers and maybe just maybe, something will happen....

I agree they are simplistic Dan

but here is one for you..regarding youth problems

a while ago Jamie Oliver had that programme on about school dinners..showing that diet was important re behaviour etc..what happened?..from that programme..action was taken in schools and he actually made something happen because of one tv programme..excellent stuff I thought

at the same time there was a programme called "Bad Lads Army"..which demonstrated just how easy it was to change young people's attitude's to society.....within a month the group of youths had been totally transformed from cocky yobs into reasonably decent young men..they did this with every group of lads they had

what happened?..the government didn't show one interest in it..a very simple solution to what many feel is a complex problem

so..even when a simple solution is showed to work..nothing is acted upon

we are back to police not doing their jobs properly again Clive..a familiar story as we have discussed before

its hard to believe that with the levels of unemployment we cannot find enough people to be relied upon to be decent coppers

police force needs a good looking at from top to bottom..weed out all the lazy incompetents..I'm sure there a many decent hard working coppers who would applaud it for a start

as I have said before..you can't make life easy/soft for criminals just because we can't trust the police to do their job right and actually catch the right people etc.

Gareth..if you don't like the idea of killing scum like this..then what exactly do you propose we do with them?

I don't like the idea of killing anyone, no matter who they are or what they've done. For me, anyone who does is, at the base level, little better than the 'sub-human' 'scum' that you decry.

Couch it in whatever terms you like, but at the end of the day your own vicious bloodlust bubbles to the top. I hope it makes you feel better about yourself but it solves nothing; just perpetuates more violence. Now go back to fantasising about 'sub-human' kids hanging from lamp posts having their eyes picked out by crows.

I haven't got any bloodlust Gareth, there would be no blood involved, it was Clive that suggested the lamp posts not me...again..you haven't got much time for views that are too extreme for you by the looks of it..but you don't mind mollycoddlling criminals who commit all sorts of vile crimes..a very strange mindset imo..basically...act how are you want and you won't get punished as I am too soft..ooh but don't pass an extreme view or I get all hot under the collar about it

I just want to live in a peaceful society where evil is not allowed to grow and where people are not afraid to do something about the problems around them

the society you want you believe will just drop in your lap with no need to do anything ..except cuddle criminals who will then be good citizens..dream on.

the more I read of soft views..the more I can see how we have got to the stage where we are in this country..the toleration of evil doing is not helping our society..all this soft arsed ..send them on holiday..give em full sky package...human rights act bollox...is why no one gives a fook what crime they commit anymore..coz there is always someone like you sticking up for ther "rights"

yep..I might offer more extreme views than you..but that doesn't mean just because yours are softer views that they are right and I am wrong...its that sort of thinking that lets these people get away with murder

I belive everyone generally wants a better society..well ...to achieve that you have to break eggs to get there

and no

it doesn't make me feel better about myself..I hate feeling like I do about this sort of thing..I generally do not even read the shite some people do to others anymore..coz I'm sick of societies tolerance and defence of the right to be able to do it

I haven't got any bloodlust Gareth, there would be no blood involved, it was Clive that suggested the lamp posts not me...

Your tacit approval:

although I do like Clive's punishment better in this instance

At least Clive has the good sense to realise it for what it is; an emotional knee-jerk reaction.

again..you haven't got much time for views that are too extreme for you by the looks of it..but you don't mind mollycoddlling criminals who commit all sorts of vile crimes..a very strange mindset imo..basically...act how are you want and you won't get punished as I am too soft..ooh but don't pass an extreme view or I get all hot under the collar about it

Another straw man argument from EC1. How unsurprising. If you're against the death penalty, you're "mollycoddlling criminals". Give me a break.

As for your constant rattling on about being "hard" and "soft", you're somewhere between a bad Eastenders script and a Freudian minefield.

you use the very same straw man arguments yourself though Gareth..anytime anyone demonstrates a more extreme view than yourself you take it to the extreme

my reaction to Clive's view was tongue in cheek..but I could see where he was coming from..he was angry..as should every person be about this sort of thing

you don't seem to have any solutions to anything..bar cuddling the human rights nonsense thats basically a criminals charter

You sit back with your easy going attitude to criminals and you will just see a growth in vile crime..which is where we have been heading for a long time

you don't have any moral high ground by allowing people do just what the hell they want..and then let them get away with it
