What are you backing Today? Part 2

Great for you to have a win on course marb pleased for you. I'd got on changing man in the week at good prices and I'd be sort of in Euros camp of how the hell has that beat me. But really pleased for you pal.

And I only just about managed that without curse words jinny haha.

Shrewdy that I am I got the 14"s without best odds but ne bother I'll just smash him when he wins his second imperial cup ...where's those antepost books.

Well done, PB.

I fancy the The Two Amigo's tomorrow at Haydock in the 2.45.

He's been dropped in the ratings for time off the track, and he's still quite lightly raced over fences, given he's turns 13 years old next month.

His best form, which includes a Welsh National win, clearly gives him an excellent chance.

I tend not to follow this thread midweek so didn't see this big winner for Placebacker until just now. Very well done, PB. Hope you had the BOG.

On to Saturday for me...

Sandown 2.25 - Willmount 9/2 in a couple of places. The greedy bastert in me was hoping for better but since I reckon - if it's trying - it might just be a good thing then 9/2 is more than fair. If it is trying it could go off at half that price. It gets in here off 130 but was only 9/4 second-fav for the Challow on its last appearance (PU, lost a shoe, possible didn't stay) and the principals from that race are now rated 142, 137 and 148 as novice hurdlers so likely to have become 10lbs better still into their second season over hurdles. Willmount was presumably thought a mid-140s novice so potentially mid-150s into its second season. The stable has a good record in the race and their last winner, Brain Power ended up running in the Champion Hurdle that season. My only worry is whether it's trying as it might just be prepping for the much more valuable Ascot race in a fortnight and a wee run down the park here could see it dropping a pound or two when the weights come out on Tuesday so I've also taken it at 20/1 (4 places) for that too.

4th place the only downside was I took 14s,but well done Paul
I’m seeking information here. Like you I had a bit each way on Surprise Package with Paddy Power. I assumed that they would only pay on first 3 places in a 13 runner handicap. Was that race an extra place race with Paddy Power? If so then I’ve got a return. Anyone?

Saturday, Sandown 1.50 - Rubaud 7/1 - [on ORs] was 13lbs better than even-money favourite L'Eau Du Sud over hurdles so I'm going to take a chance that he can confirm that superiority on his fencing debut.

It's a great race if the main 4 take part Elliots 2nd string sets a very decent standard. No bets for me but whoever wins will end up being top class.

A rare bet in Ireland for me I've had to back Minella sixo for the listed hurdle at 12/1. A little inexperienced for something like this maybe. When I saw him finish 2nd to Potters Charm at Cheltenham I thought they looked like 2 good horses I thought Potters charm looked like a horse for the Ballymore and Sixo I thought I'd keep an eye out for the potatoe race. Off a mark of 133 in this experience aside I'd be fairly sure this horse will end up mid 140s to maybe as high low 150's by the end of the season. Can't let him go unbacked off this mark and at this price.
