What are you backing Today? Part 2

Feigning Madness 1.25NB
Next year he will want all of a mile and a half. I think we will end up rolling the dice with a nice race in the spring and see how he goes - Ralph Beckett, trainer.
Took 22/1 2pl Hills

I have been going through my old paper notes (lol), and have come across a system I had a couple of years ago. I am not sure why I never followed it through, probably because it's sh1t. It involves receiving Ratings I receive each day and betting on the turf flat, so probably a good time to try it out.

If it does show any promise, I will start a thread. I have just put a few bob on, just in case it's not sh1t.

Today's are both at the Curragh.

4.00 Sugar Club 12/1 (1pt ew 4 places) + Touch The Sound 10/1 (1pt win)

5.10 Gazelle D'or 8/1(1pt ew 4 places)

Cheers Paddy and Desijo, perhaps this system is not sh1t after all.

4.00 Sugar Club 12/1 (1pt ew 4 places) + Touch The Sound 10/1 (1pt win)

After this result I thought why an earth had I wasted my few bob.

5.10 Gazelle D'or 8/1(1pt ew 4 places)

But as I had nothing better to do, I watched the 5.10 race. My first thought was why did the Jockey, have Gazelle D'or so far back, my next thought was what a great ride 😃. I then got another surprise when I saw the SP 16/1.

This system might not be that bad after all 😆. Well I/we are going to have to wait to find out, as my Mrs and I are off to Shrewsbury for a couple of days. I am thinking I might give this a go from Wednesday. I will post the selection's either on here or I will start a new thread.

Nothing qualified for me today, but I have got a couple that the system likes tomorrow. But I will need to post again in the morning.

N 1.50 - Diligently.
Strictly speaking does not qualify, but with a small adjustment to the system would do so, so I will probably do a win bet of some sort.

B 2.15 - Elegant Erin 1pt ew 9/1 (3pl)
(365 were 9/1, others 13/2, so I have taken 9/1. Will have a look in the morning and see what price, if price is bigger I then might bet again. Also looking to do Azure Angel as a saver.

B 2.50 - Hiya Maite

B 5.07 - Law Degree

Can't resist a little ew dabble on these:

What A Path 4.25 Ch 16/1

Fortescue Ch 3.15 28/1
Jumping Jet Ch 3.15 8/1

3 x ew

2 x ew doubles

Just an intertest. 🤞

I am only putting pennies on and have no idea if this system will work out or not.

N 1.50 Diligently --- Non Runner

B 2.15 - Elegant Erin 1pt ew 9/1 (3pl)
(365 were 9/1, others 13/2, so I have taken 9/1. Will have a look in the morning and see what price, if price is bigger I then might bet again. Price is bigger 10/1 so I have had another 0.50pts ew (3pl) BOG bet at 10/1. Also looking to do Azure Angel as a saver. Saved on 2pts Win at 7/4 BOG

Perhaps should have done these last night as both have been backed from 7/2 and 6/1 retrospectively. But at least it has allowed me time to think.
1.50pts ew BOG double
B 2.50 - Hiya Maite 11/4 (3pl)
B 5.07 - Law Degree 7/2 (4pl)

I've done Blow Your Wad, in the 2:40 at Chelt, 11/2. As if the horse's name wasn't a bad enough omen, I have also walked under a ladder by taking the dreaded 365 boost.

Edit: I see since updating this page that others have too. Fingers crossed.

Blow Your Wad doesn't jump well enough at that level. Very untidy all through the race.

I must admit I couldn't have had Riskintheground on today's terms. Shows what a good thing he was at Ayr last week. It did occur to me that the plan was to go for both races but he was effectively 10lbs higher here and that's a lot.

It will help Skelton a bit in the trainers' championship.

Following Hiya Maite failure to win or even place 😄. Rather than throw a winner away 😆, I will try and retrieve my 3pt loss by having 1pt win on ...
B 5.07 - Law Degree 7/2

Yes, disappointing. Fair assessment that he didn't pass the jumping test.

I'm glad for the Skeltons, but it will all come down to Sandown and Willie has so many to choose from. And what have they got in the 365? I guess Hoe Joly Smoke is the one.
