What are you backing Today? Part 2

Well it has turned out to be a more busy day, so much so I am going to deal with the UK races now, and the Irish this afternoon. To top it all it's Friday my least favourite day to bet 😕.

Balance = +0.77pts
Yesterday = -0.75pts
Today's Balance = +0.02pts

Prices taken with BOG bookies 8.30am - 9am, 2pts win 7/2 or less, 1pt ew 4/1 or more (3 places unless stated)

A 1.50 Brave Mission 7/2 + Shout 13/2

A 3.25 Dorney Lake 9/2 (2pts win not ew) + Get It 16/1 + Woolhampton 50/1
A bit strange this race, I presume either there are some well bred newcomers to handicaps, or these are All weather horses trying turf.

C 4.45 Surrey Belle 100/30 + Artisan Dancer 7/2

R 7.30 Mister Sox 5/2 + Fortamour 11/2

R 8.05 Dubawi Time 9/4 + Mariner 9/2

IRISH SELECTIONS THIS AFTERNOON

What's your reasoning SP, do you fancy sharing?
Come now, a fortune teller requiring reasons? What has become of the world ;)
I'm not as articulate or analytical as say, DO, for example. I try to visualise how races will develop & intuit prices from these visualisations.

In the 1:30 it's easy to see that Pearl Eye has been in good form this year. Though hold up performers are especially risky at Chester I'm hoping they go a little too fast up front and he can pick them up late.

Emiyn in the 3:05 has great course form. Likes to be prominent, if (and it's probably quite an if) he can break well or get close to the front early I think he has a great chance.

I was on Rathgar the last day and thought he would win. Have to give him another chance despite the wide draw. Again hoping he can get into a prominent position early.

Yes I like Pearl Eye too, I was curious to compare notes!

I'm not as articulate or analytical as DO and I've never tried to be. That's the beauty of this forum, we all have different levels of experience and expertise, all rubbing along nicely, most of the time. 🤣

One thing we have all in common, we all follow horse racing. 😎

Good luck with your trixie.

Hot Fuss win only and Dawn Rising each way for me in the Cup.

I am still trying to get my head around Irish racing handicap class categories. So I will just risk the one race tonight over in Ireland.

Prices taken with BOG bookies, 2pts win 7/2 or less, 1pt ew 4/1 or more (3 places unless stated)

B 7.20 The Real Screamer 100/30 + Church Mountain 11/1 + Sylkie 18/1
There has been a non runner so prices may be affected.

I'll take a chance on Mostawaa in Lingfield's 1.50.

He's been a good servant to Heather Main's yard the past few years and can still be competative off a mark of 78 here.

I see another forumite, Jayhawk, has mentioned my cliff horse, Dr T J Eckleburg, who runs in the Swinton.

He might run okay but I feel he had a hard enough season over fences. I might have a saver on, but Anyharminasking would be my main fancy anyway.

Good luck all tomorrow.

May the rich get richer, and the poor get richer too. 🤣

Good day yesterday with Get it at 22/1 winning and then two more going in at Ripon. So Friday was not so bad after all 😅.

Not sure what to make of today, even the smaller size handicaps seem competitive. Oh well let's see what happens.

L 5.15 Happiest 9/1 (4 places)

If I don't return tomorrow morning, it's because I have decided to make Monday my day off.

Good evening, I wiped my nose clean today (I think that is the correct saying, I often get them wrong 😃) with a 5/1 winner.

I was going to have tomorrow off, but I have had a restful day, so I thought I would check the ratings. I actually only have one selection. I have got a few jobs to do tomorrow, so I have placed my bet now. (I will check sometime tomorrow, because I have not got the protection of BOG).

Strictly speaking this should have been an ew bet, but I am only betting small and so I have bet win, and taken the 11/2 on the exchange.

Faraway Girl 22/1

x

3.40 Fairview ( SA )

Not a great deal appeals on the UK racing today

Although it's a new distance, I must go with Small Town Hero (2.30 Southwell).

I thought the plan was last time out but it just didn't work out. i do wonder whether he'll stay this 3m but I'll pay to find out.

GL - I'll save a f/c with mine (2-4)

1st & third but at least my fancy won (squeaky bum time at the last)

I should never back against the system 😃, Regal Envoy came 2nd at 8/1. Got more time available to me today, so I am keeping to the system so much so that my only bets are at Beverley, a course that is one of my least favourite for betting at.

That's it, a quiet day. I was tempted by Pub Crawl 14/1 in W 5.35, but I also like the two at the top of the market, so I just might have to go on one instead 🤔.

A 12/1 winner yesterday, so the curse of Beverley was overcome 💪.

There are two Conditional Jockey Handicaps at Perth tonight, which all being well should not be an issue.

Tread Softly Now my only bet today. Out to 11's at the moment so would be nice to land it at that.

Just as well, I did not get carried away and took the advice of one of my selection's yesterday "tread softly now" (lol).
