Against you with both of these yorick. I've backed Renato in the 6.15 (I rate Marco as a trainer and this horse was eye-catching behind two decent types at Haydock lto) and Akkadian Thunder in the 7.15 (price gone now) - this horse has turned into a bit of a cliff beast for me but this is his last chance. Big field and softish ground will suit.
I see what you're saying with AT.
A pair from my notebook are in the same race.
Rhythm Master (been left in notebook for EW / place double purposes). Needs everything just right and timed perfectly. Yard in good shape.
I'm going to have a small bet instead on GLENFINNAN. Didn't run a bad race over the course when short of room, jockey never got to drive the horse and eased down. Figured it may not have been too far behind Dark Thirty (the winner) with a clear run and a few smacks. Dods yard has been seriously out of form, so big concern there, but place SR is starting to pick up for them. Not too keen on Jockey either, but rides older horses at Doncaster OK (statisticially). Got the impression Glenfinnan wouldn't mind a level 7F, but also noted how it loves running uphill. Happy to ignore York run as the ground will have been too quick for it on a level 6 (hence a larger distance between it and Dark Thirty that day), plus Dods yard totally out of form during May (I guess still is, but showing slight positives signs and the deadlock has to be broken at some point).
The only other one today from my book is Party Island down at Lingfield in the 6:37, but the heavens are forecast to open there. Is down to 68 with Jack Callan taking another 7 off. A couple of books paying 3 places 1/5th, but I'd feel like I'd be hoping for a place and praying for a win.
I see current light rain at Donny, with about 1.2 - 1.5mm expected to hit the course, but clearing afterwards (so they say). I wouldn't think it would be much more than GDsft in the straight (though could end up true GDSFT). Can't get serious, but at the odds, I'll stick a small bet on Glenfinnan.
