What are you backing Today? Part 2

Dr T J Eckleburg in Haydocks 3.40 my main fancy today.

He ran well last time in second place carrying loads of weight, and his win over General Medrano was franked nicely.
Doesn't appear to have much of a turn of foot. Nevermind.

I'm taking a sabbatical until at least the Newbury handicap hurdle.

Well done Teresita backers. Horse has talent. No doubt.

Not Sure 3.40 Windsor 12/
I'm pretty sure that this horse is a dour stayer who has been aimed at this race all season.
Looks fairly handicapped and the stable are coming into form.
Looks a solid each way bet.

12/1 looks a fair price for a race he was 2nd in last year when run at Lingfield.

1.55 Windsor
Etalon has plenty to prove after a poor campaign so far but I think he may do so on softer ground today. They may be getting his mark down further though

I'm not doing well these days (I seldom do in Jan/Feb apart from the Schweppes) but have gone for two at Windsor tomorrow.

Matata 4/1
Ahoy Senor* 5/1

2 win singles and a win double.

(*See odds-on thread.)

Good start. After the R4 it still paid a fraction over 7/2 so beat the sp (2/1) by some way.

I should have put it on the odds-on thread. It won like one :ROFLMAO:

Knowing my luck Ahoy Senor will some second...

That had all the hallmarks of a horse trying to get worked down the handicap.

Is it possible they're trying to get into the National off 163?

I'm not sure I'd fancy it over the big fences but the trainer knows how to win the race.

That was £85k there to be picked up for running to form so why blow it for something as risky as the National so I can't see it being the case.

Is it just a spring horse? I'm not convinced.

Maybe they should target whatever race Langer Dan goes for :ROFLMAO:

The Lucy Wadham yard is in good form at the moment with three winners from their last seven runners.
Monday
2.40 Warwick - Aunty Christine ......... makes her handicap debut and looks open to some improvement
13/2 EW with FIVE PLACES with Bet365 ...... is likely to be bigger than the SP , and I wouldn't put anyone off the 5/1 with SIX PLACES at Sky

Sorry but I have absolutely no idea how you’ve come to that conclusion unless it’s pocket talk

Ahoy Senor jumped poorly over the first two or three but was still close enough if good enough with a circuit to go but threw his chance away with a few more sketchy jumps

Jumping was indifferent, I accept, but the handbrake went on for no good reason some way out.

Agree or disagree, I'll be on this one when it wins.

I've just noticed that Apple Away Is declared for the great Yorkshire chase at Doncaster on Saturday.
Is 25/1 with Hills ,but only 12s with most of the others.
Looks a big price if allowed to take her chance.
Will they run her so soon after her recent run at Newbury?
I've not backed her ante post in case she doesn't turn up

I think one or two on here fancy her to win a big prize.
All opinions gratefully received

I'm a little surprised to see a drift on Aunty Christine tbh and have had a second play at 9/1 ( BOG ) with 5 Places.
It looks a lively betting race for a Monday with five or six shorteners this morning. Fingers crossed for a good run.

She’s not been declared at the 5-day stage (unless I’ve missed her in the entries)

When I looked on atr website 2 hours ago she was among the Dec's, but not now.
Thought it was a bit soon to run after Newbury.
Like a few others on here I think she has a big prize in her.

Unplaced, only 9th of the 16 runners beaten a total of 21L - but I'm not too disappointed tbh, I thought she travelled well for much of the race until being tapped for toe on the turn for home and looks to need a bit further, not many miles on the clock and likely to drop a couple of pounds for that run. Aunty Christine can pick up a small race before the season is through.
