White Stuff

Still snowing here but I have my suit on ready to leave after the radio anouncement. I am not confident of a day off....

I'm off to bed in a while. Heating is up its like a bloody sauna. I'll be thinking about you PDJ...

Bugger. The school next door to ours is an Independent school and they have just shut. We are open. Gonna hang on until 7 for the next update and if I am late, I don't care!

In the 4 years since I came down to live here in Wantage it's probably the biggest snowfall I've known of.

Yay! Loads of snow up the road from Arkwright in Faringdon. At the moment Emilys school is off but no mention of Daisy and Mollys. It's just across the road from Emilys so I can't see it being open. Besides, they're all outside playing at the moment  Emilys school is at the bottom of our road, we're at the top of a hill and it's situated right at the bottom. Only two cars have ventured down that hill this morning, quite brave of them!

I'll be back later with my snow pics.

As Songsheet has said, there is no snow in the south west except for a huge amount on Dartmoor and Exmoor.
So if there is a lot around Oxfordshire and Berkshire that must mean Newbury racecourse is covered.

Heavy here around the extremities of Cheltenham and Gloucester and the snowploughs are out on the A40 towards Oxford.

Several inches in my garden at the moment and it's still snowing. A few mad idiots have driven out of the village but I think I'll give the 30 miles to work a miss for the time being!!

When I did go outside and looked towards the Brendons, I could see a light covering of snow there but I reckon that will have disappeared by now. So far we've had rain, a bit of hail and now it's sunny....

I set my alarm for 05:00hrs this am as I was meant to go to Newmarket this morning. When I woke at 04:30hrs the snow had already fallen, so I decided to give Newmarket a miss especially as it must be bad enough at 07:00hrs to close Stanstead airport.

Here in Berkshire the snow is still falling. Barney loves it. I will try and post a few photos later. :)

A few of photos from outside my house this morning. The cat hated it. Barney loved it. Off for a long walk now. I may take my camera with me. :)

Newbury's got to be a million to go ahead - not happy!!! We've had around 3 to 4 inches and it's still snowing now, albeit fairly feebly!

The pups don't like it - mustn't like cold feet or something!

Nearly 3 inches in Milton Keynes ad still coming down heavy
Where abouts in MK? I'm in Bletchley - both kids off school (had to make an 'executive decision' for #2 son) and Dave's not working either (which is a good thing, apparently a gritting lorry broke it's sump right outside his work place....)

This was Barney having spotted the cat just escaping from the house. He was trying to work out a way to head her off just in case she was after one of his biscuits he had just buried in the snow.
