How about this one?

I don't think there are many goals in this group, in spite of the presence of the Germans. It is possible that Germany could struggle in any of the three games, as the opposition are not mugs. But realistically speaking, they'll probably qualify easily enough.

Portugal will have the intention not to lose tonight, and they're quite good at doing that, judging from previous tournaments. I don't see many goals tonight in this game, or the Ghana vs. USA match.

I have had a few quid on 0-0 in GER - POR, and a double on under 2.5 goals in that game and the GHA - USA game. Any other thoughts?

Are Ghana or the US value to upset the Europeans and clinch a qualification berth?
 
If Portugal get a result then Ronaldo must get man of the match so 5/2 looks fair. On the other hand everyone has spotted this but the German players are all 7/1+. Who is the biggest German name around the world?
 
I would have thought Ozil was possibly the biggest German 'Star' but he's not the Fav. Muller Goetze and Klose are all shorter price than Ozil. Then you have the Klose goal scoring record factor - surely a goal from him would have the fans voting - but's he's unlikely to start. I also read today that Ozil & Schweinsteiger may not start, so I'd personally want to see the German starting 11 before taking a stance on which of their players to back. And even at that I think it's too difficult to call.

Since Balotelli at 10/1, I've backed YaYa Toure 4/1 & Benzema 3/1 last night. Obviously Benzema deserved it, but Yaya Toure did nothing in a 2-1 win. No goals or no assists and he still won MOTM. Which really further strengthens Slims view on Ronaldo. This vote is based on Fame and Popularity most of all!
I've already backed a draw in today's match, so that result should be more than enough to secure Ronaldo the MOTM @ 5/2. He doesn't even need to score! 0-0 and Ronaldo still gets it IMO.........
 
I agree Ronaldo 5/2 is value but with Gernany odds on you have to fire a German bullet as cove.

You'd be firing a lot bigger Bullets than me Slim.... So I suppose German cover is a prudent move. I'm willing take a gamble tonight - with the Draw & Ronaldo MOTM as my only 2 bets. I tend to agree with Bar's analysis of this game & Group and expect a tight match tonight. Portugal will look to frustrate and annoy the Germans. 9 men behind the ball defending deep and hit them on the counter with Ronaldo........

As regards team news, for me Twitter is always the quickest place to get it. Collymore, Henry Winter, Mirror Football are all usually fairly sharpish with breaking team news. I'll keep an eye and post here as soon as I see it.

I disagree - I would say Ozil, but the fact we disagree shows there isn't really a standout. I would saw there are more Ozil jerseys, if that is the sense the question was asked.

Gearoid - careful with Schweini - he probably won't play from reports. Midfield duo likely to be Lahm and Khedira, with Kroos slightly ahead. If you ask me, there is no angle here re German MOTM.

You have been right elsewhere but bear in mind he's borderline injured so could easily come off. Just saying the bet here isn't without risks.

Coral are still 5/2 Ronaldo MOTM. I just got matched for €40 about 15 mins ago.
Double checked it on Oddschecker and on the actual coral site just now and they are still advertising 5/2 anyway........
 
Any thoughts on Germany? I was very keen on them to win it outright for a lot of the last year, but am wavering slightly (already backed them).

Evens not a bad price for tonight if you think they are likely contenders.

After the other 3 of the top 4 in the betting disappointing, it would be good to see a marker put down.

It really doesn't matter if he comes off. There will be so many votes for him while the match is level.
 
Ok so Muller playing false number 9. I've had €200 @ 2/1 Ronaldo MOTM and €150 @ 6/1 1st Goalscorer with Ladbrokes. The cashier tells me the 2/1 is a terrible price!
 
Couldn't pass the 6/1 Ronaldo 1st Goalscorer myself....

I've gone from only wanting to have 2 bets on this match to having 5!
All Ronaldo and Draw based bets too..... No cover on Ze Germans winning!

I got a text to say Muller was playing up front and sprinted to Ladbrokes to take the 7/1 MOTM but they had quickly cut him in that and the 1st Goalscorer market. 4 years ago the price would not have changed so fast.
 
Did you take a price on Muller then? He looks nailed on now.....

Pepe is a clown! I really should have factored his stupidity into my betting on this match.
 
No 7/2 about something so could have had 7/1 about this morning didn't interest me.
