Don't think we have a thread running on this one, if we have I'll get Col to merge them

News this morning that Silviniaco Conti to get an entry, still waiting to see if the word I heard pre Xmas that Holywell would be entered comes to fruition.

I backed Vroom Vroom Mag NRNB at 7/1 this morning for. I reckon she'll win & win well at Ascot this Saturday. If that's the case her price will contract dramatically.

Can't see them sending Annie Power to the WH simply because it looks as if it'll be straight to Cheltenham.

Thistlecrack worthy fav at this stage. You could maybe question the one time he's been to Cheltenham and flopped. The Cleeve should help us there.

Can make plenty of other cases to make the frame. The Hales horse who I really like but going straight there is clearly not ideal.
If we get decent ground and Master Weld gives him green light then Windsor Park would be the one who seriously interests me.

At Thislecrack's price I would want some sort of high calibre Cheltenham form - and we haven't got it.

At current odds 14s NRNB about last year's Neptune winner is out of line.

I'm not backing Thistlecrack AP at current prices, but will almost certainly on the day as expect him to be taken on by the bookies

Nicholls sounding cautious...

SaphirDu Rheu is expected to be joined in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle byAuxPtit Soins, the winner of last season's Coral Hurdle on his debut and, to date, sole start for the stable but it has not been plain sailing with the six-year-old."He's a very talented horse," Nicholls told At The Races.

"He's just turned the corner with his problems and he's been back with us a fortnight. He's started two canters every day up the hill. The problem is that there are only eight weeks to go before the World Hurdle and it's going to be a rush to get him there.

"We can give him a couple of racecourse gallops. He's a very clean-winded horse and hopefully we can get him right for it, but there are a couple of opportunities after Cheltenham and I have said to John [Hales] we could look at the French Champion Hurdle at Auteuil. He won't be far off being right for Cheltenham but I've only got eight weeks and that isn't ideal.

"You have to crack on. It's not like he is just coming out of a field. He's had some exercise on a water treadmill with Lisa Hales - actually, I think it was Clare Dyson who did that - so we're not starting with him from out of a field, but he has had two lots of surgery in the autumn - one on the tooth and one on his sinuses - which hasn't helped. We are up against a bit, but if any horse could do it he probably could."

100% with you

His bad run at Xmas adds further fuel to the fire that he is being prepped for one day and one day alone

Which day should be the question though
Tuesday isnt as daft as it sounds

I wouldn't be losing faith on Cole Harden either
He routed them last year when trained to the minute which he will be again.

At Fishers Cross seems to be the forgotten horse - available at 40/1 and a value e/way bet imo. His form has been a bit in and out but not when it comes to racing at Cheltenham with 3 wins a 2nd a 3rd and a 4th. Entered at Gowran Park Thursday and not fully wound-up according to trainer as he came in late but definitely being targeted at the World Hurdle. Won the Albert Bartlett 2013 - 3rd World Hurdle 2014 & 4th last year.

I was going to ask about him; had a big priced ew on him last year and only just missed out on a place...was finishing fast if I remember. They did a lot of work on him prior to last years race, I believe and it certainly did the trick [well, almost].

No, no, no, no, no, no, no.....no. He's a black hole that's been sucking in money since his debut in open company. The 2nd coming of Black Jack Ketchum.

14 runs - 9 wins 1 x 2nd & 1 x 3rd - cost 50,000 guineas and won over £200,000 - give me horses like that everytime. :D

No doubting Thistlecrack has a lot of ability but just about everything has beaten Reve De Sivola at one time or another

A win over him does not justify bookies cutting the horse from as high as 10/1 to as low as 15/8.

Granted he has some other worthwhile form but so do afew others with plenty scope for improvement.

The World Hurdle is entering a new era and it looks wide open to me.

Some of the old dogs trying to learn new tricks are still around like Bobs Worth who has numerous big name scalps to his name over hurdles and most recently Simonsig.

Cole Harden has obviously got only one thing on his trainers mind and his form so far this season should be totally ignored.

I thought Camping Ground just as impressive as Thistlecrack and against an improving sort in Lil Rocefellar he could be anything.

Don't know what to make of the Mullins pair other than I'd be amazed if Annie ran so VVmag looks the more likely.
If VVmag wins on saturday and WPM says she goes WH you and expect a joint fav the way the bookies **** their pants every time Mullins wins a race.

I am not going second guess WPM....he might be thinking Annie is older and she might get the trip better now and she is the better of the two or he might be thinking VVmmag is better and she should go WH.

N Canyon will he go Champion or World hurdle? I'd give him no chance in the former but WPM will most likely send him there as the money for places is good.

The real class horse in the race for me is Windsor Park who absolutely murdered N Canyon last season and it wasn't N Canyon running below for this horse is just a better horse simple as.

I have no idea which way they are going with him but he will carry my money in either EW as it will take a good one to beat him.
The ??? is will he be spot on for Cheltenham. Daft question..of course he will.

I expect him to run World Hurdle and win it but I will wait until the day.

The race didn't pan our for Nichols Canyon in the Neptune though and while he looks to have the stamina to stay further, he's too keen for trips in excess of 2m IMHO and will be better suited bowling along in the Champion.

Take him out of the Neptune and the form of the race has amounted to feck all and I'm no breeding expert but Windsor Park comes from a family of flat horses - will he stay 3m ?

NC ain't going stayers route.
I like Windsor Park, but I'm sure they would like to ride that race again on NC.

When I said a black hole for money I meant my own personal bank account! I'm sure a lot of punters followed this one over the cliff after such an immensely promising novice season. At some point you just have to draw the line and accept that he will never be that horse again.

Agree 100%.
