World Hurdle 2016

At Fishers Cross reminds me a bit of Powerstation who always showed up at Cheltenham and ran many a good race there at big odds.
A nibble ew at 40s before his Gowran run might not go astray.

There was a lot of dough around for him this evening to win tomorrow. Big run expected.

Wouldn't be writing AFC off, just yet.
His heavy ground form bears close inspection, and he'd probably have finished even closer in last season's WH (his highest RPR, btw) on similar.

Martello Tower for me travelled lovely at Leop on his first run of the season, and blew up coming to the last. Will be fitter today, and wont be 20/1 for the world hurdle when he wins.

Some proper judges have him well backed already.

Glad I was on NRNB. That's the risk you take backing a horse with a trainer who values Royal Ascot more than the Festival. ****.

No Windsor Park as far as I can see. That has to be the headline from those entries.

The other headline is that More of That has been entered for the World Hurdle but not the Gold Cup - obviously one hopes he comes through his prep with flying colours for the Sun Alliance but if he were to end up diverted there that would put the cat among the pigeons .

The Nichols Canyon & MOT entries strike me as insurance policies should they fall early on in their primary targets.

Would MOT make the Stayers, if he fell in the RSA Chase?

I thought fallers couldn't run for 48-hours.....or something along those lines anyway? I think it was to allow sufficient time for an injury to emerge, and avoid the risk of quickly turning-out horses who might have a problem that isn't immediately evident.

Or I could be talking bollocks.

You may be right. I suppose if he took a heavy fall in his prep run they could opt to revert to the smaller obstacles but I can't see him running in anything other than the RSA.

You can now get 33s at WH....that's a big price and I expect him to not be far away come march.

I'm in a bit of a fizz with him.

Backed him in the Bartlett last year as a soft ground option when the rain came on Friday. Got on at 16s ante post for the WH and then again at 25s after his run at Leop when Mags said he'd need the run and strip fitter nto.

Then I read her quoted her as saying he'd actually welcome better ground.

Looked to be travelling well yesterday until he clumped one then faded badly.....

Dunno.
