World Hurdle 2016

I was never really convinced by Colin Tizzard, but I have to admire what he has done with Cue Card and Thistlecrack, and I'm increasingly revising my opinion of him. I also like his attitude to the game, as defined in this quote about Thistlecrack's Cleeve chances:

"This is another big race and we want to win it and he's very fit. It's a proper prize and there will be no excuses afterwards. We're not going there to put him right for March - we're going to try to win."

I can see why one would think Thistlecrack looks bombproof - but I did like Camping Ground's win in the Relkeel and if he stays the 3m he could be a much tougher nut to crack on Saturday .

The other reason I should not be that keen on backing a horse like him is where much his biggest potential dangers are so uncertain . If they get Annie Power to the race she will be a very different kettle of fish to Reve de Sivola et al .

The same would apply if More of That were re-routed if God forbid he were to tip up at Sandown.

If camping ground stay he could turn over Thistlecrack who everyone seems to think is the next coming which personally I dont get.

He surprised everyone when winning at Aintree, was beaten by a Martin Pipe winner which is like 10 steps down from a Wordd Hurdle.

He then beat the very ordinary Deputy Dan and lastly he took care of Reve De Sivola who has been stuffed since and is 1 from 11 over the last 2 years.

If he is Bombproof Ardross the 3 mile divison is in a bad way. Shockingly bad price for the world hurdle.

As for today I camping Ground stays IMO he could very well beat him or run him very close if he doesn't stay then Thistlecrack has nothing to beat and we will have learned nothing

Thistlecrack bomb proof for me, solid form, good jumper and stamina proven.
I have him higher tha Annie Power at her best and is one of my 2 antepost for the Festival so far.

Very impressive but beat little today as Camping Ground ran with the choke out and did not stay .

Notwithstanding barring More or That turning up difficult to see even Scudamore buggering this cert up

There's just nothing to beat him. At odds against he's as bombproof as any of the Mullins odds on shots.

ive lumped on at 13/8

mullins should considering re-routing vroom vroom to the ryanair or something

I'd hang fire James tbh
I agree he looks bombproof but the books are going to have a hellish time with the Mullins favs that it's a certainty that they'll take him on.

Leave it out mate lot worse than Scu going around. He keeps the ride because he has done a great job so far 4/5 so what's to fault?

i think he is better on todays ground..hits the ground hard..if it rains cheltenham week can't see anything that will pass him tbh..if it don't..summat might have a chance.

ground today was 64 lengths per mile slow..first day at Cheltenham..maybe 5 slow..big difference

Not WH related but do people think thistlecrack will be novice chasing next term?

Add to that, Tizzard would be a great man to have a horse in training with

Clichéd, but is built to be a chaser (fell in love with him in the paddock at Ascot) so id almost certain to go chasing imo

Also agree the Tizzards would be great to have a horse with. Top people

He'll be 9 next season which is a bit late in the day to be going chasing. If he wins the World Hurdle then I expect they won't even have the conversation.

There may be a lot worse but there are also a lot better ! Scudamore gave Un Temp per Tout a poor ride today and has ridden a lot of stinkers in his time - letting that horse run away with him in the Fred Winter comes to mind .

the ground will not be very different to the ground he faced last year at Aintree or Punchestown
main rivals Coole Harden and Kilcoooley

if he were trained by Mullins he would be a 1/2 chance

dont forget bookies are going nrnb

for me he is the most likely winner of the festival so far, including Faugheen, Douvan and UDS
