Anyone know what the ground is currently like and what the weather prospects are this week? Good ground key to Ernest Hemmingway running, winning and going to Epsom to win the Derby.

Let's hope so. I'm expecting patchy course conditions with parts verging on Good and spots bordering on unraceable. It would be good to see some proper results.

Forecast is hopeful for it to be drying, it depend how literally O'Brien should be taken when he says he wants 'good'. It's simply not going to be that, even with the drying forecast.

...certainly not all round the course. Although when O'Brien says Good he no doubt means something on the soft side of good (i.e. Irish version of Good).

If they think anything of EH, they surely wouldn't quibble over Good To Soft when missing Epsom is the alternative.

I hope.

If he turns up are we going to see a TH initiated gamble? A lot of very confident pilots on here ready to board that aeroplane!!!!!

A once raced Ballydoyle colt to get excited about? It's no ******* wonder the Jumps is killing the flat popularity wise.

I'm excited about a 9 times raced Champion 3yo who is back again for season three.

There seems to be a recent trend of keeping good horses in training at 4 - Canford Cliffs and Frankel being the obvious ones. The Sussex was the most anticipated race of last year on the flat and we need more of that.

I'll be interested to see how excited we are next year about the jumps. Kauto and Denman have basically carried the sport for the last 4 years so we need Sprinter, Simonsig and the Gigginstown band to step up to the plate otherwise it could be a dull season, particularly in the UK.

I agree with with you but the way all boards seem wholly focused on the one stable at the moment is just tiresome. You yourself have backed Kissed for the Oaks which is fair dues given her pedigree and your touch on Pour Moi last year but it's hard to get excited about horses that have barely run.

I think there are a number of horses to get excited about and the novices from last year look a better group than the previous year.

 It’s good to see people fired up on the expectation of something and some good judges reckon this one is good. He’s also named well which is always a good sign that Sue Magnier fancies one. I’m not banking on a winner of an Irish maiden on AW myself, albeit a 10 length winner. I’m more probably interested in Ballydoyle’s aeroplane in waiting (perhaps), Imperial Monarch.

We’ll see though. Hope he takes his chance anyway.

Going stick reading 6.8 as of 16.00 yesterday.
It was 6.0 when Hoof It won over c/d last season, and with the probability of the ground drying further, he looks an absolutely knocking bet at the current 9/2.

 ...I hope (for your sake) you're not wrong. I'll be watching with interest and cheering for you in the race (he certainly takes the eye).
