York

Unlucky with The Cheka, Aragorn! The winner was flying comig right round the outside adn in a manner that suggested that the outcome was anticipated.

Well Done Marble! ended up with a small profit havingsaved on Secret Witness.

York 3:35 Eagle Rock improved 15lb over hurdles on my figures - if there right and he can transfer that form back to the flat then even drawn 19 he has an e/way shout here.

Fingers crossed.

Good call SC - ran a blinder, step up in trip looks likely to suit Eagle Rock too, possible for a 14f handicap at the track later in the year?

Good shout SC. Unlucky there with Tatilsu as well. Could well have got the f/c up if he hadn't completely missed the break.

Cheers lads

Sorely tempted to dutch Tatiflette & Van Der Art for the win in the last and throw in the two Mark Johnson horses Kinloch Castle & Lady Macduff for small combo f/c's & tricasts - but it looks too tricky so leaving it alone - you may find me crying at about 4:50pm.

I'll either be smug or a mug.

Has anyone rated the card at York today?

Jesus Christ that has to be the worst rating I've given to a Group 2 sprint in donkey's years which pays tremendous respect to Tiddliwinks who had to show an electric turn of foot to win from being held up whilst subsequently I think all the hold up horses were massively disadvantaged.

Just looking into it a bit further...there might be a case for him being underrated because he's made his way up the ladder being dominant from the front and kicking on using that turn of foot which we've seen in evidence today. The sort of race has been harder for him especially trying to dominate in top class sprints where you're almost out with the washing before the 2f pole although I notice today is the first time the Kevin Ryan team have really held him up and may have unearthed a totally different animal. (Upon further evidence he's been held up maybe 2 or 3 times before)

Can't get away from the fact that the time was VERY POOR but that doesn't dictate that the class of the opposition is poor but rather they've faced uncompromising conditions especially for sprinters with Kevin Ryans' Tiddliwinks doing remarkably well.

To think if he finds him self in a race where they go over the top out in front he could swoop them from the year? interesting but would like to see him do it on the clock first.

I'm so mad at myself for having a bet in the Duke of York. It's about time these races actually started justifying their status as Group races.

I'm going in again on Secret Witness (thanks for the pointer yesterday Marb). I'm also backing Izzi Top.

Should I also be lumping on Ernest Hemingway? 9-2 looks good given what some have said about him on here!

Imo this is the horse you should be lumping on if you have to lump on something! The danger is the Godolphin horse though.

I reckon either Beatrice Aurore, the Cumani horse that Fallon rides or the Chalton horse at the top will fight it out for third and so a few r/tricasts will do for me.

If that actually was the case, how does the positive view you have taken of Tiddliwinks in coming from the back off a steady pace square with your view of Camelot coming from off a steady pace to win the Guineas?

I'd also narrowed it down to Izzy and Beatrice. Should be a good race.

Good shout, Luke.

I have to be with Fencing in the Dante; everything about him suggests that 10f should be the making of him.

Part of me hopes Ernest Hemingway wins by a street though. I'm a sucker for aeroplanes.

He's going to start fav at this rate.

...to the parachutes!

...if EH flopped so did Mandaean (but the market told us about that one). Nice performances for the first and second and a needed boost for my TTF.
