Did you go under another name?
It says you joined 2023 but I've only noticed you a few months ago although I know time goes fast so it could be longer.
And did you know I used to be good at picking winners.you wouldn't believe it lately.
Lost interest in racing to a point.

You still know what you're doing mate but backing long priced selections losing runs and bad spells can be ridiculous but it only takes 1 or 2 results to put things straight.

If you wanted a little bit of advice from me at least while you are having a bad patch you seem like you're suffering from a bad case of Fomo. Trying to get in early and nab fancy prices is fine but what good is it if you nab 40/1 about something thats 25/1 on the day if you backed something else or even 2 others that dont even turn up ? You might aswell wait until the day get the extra places, knowing the opposition the conditions the draw and everything else is a small price to pay for the lower price you get and you can always have double the amount on knowing at least you are getting a run for your money.

Like the obsession of O mearas on the flat backing most of his in one race guessing at which one turns up and which ones are on a going day you can get away with a bit when he's flying but not everything's a plot and stables will go through cycles especially with handicappers if they've had a great season the year before then all the horses marks will have risen it stands to reason that if they are running the same horses season after season then at times they end up with a bunch of horses who have nothing in hand.

That Fomo will kill you as a punter mate. Take a step back relax wait for the right moments and just hit a bit harder with the money you've saved from the Nr's you'd of had.

You are right Danny I am obsessed with O'Meara and f*#king Skelton.
I do watch their hcap marks though.
My a/p bets have done me well but I must admit the weekend was a disaster.
Anyway I don't want to mess Ians thread up or he will say "get off my fu#*^ng thread"
And rightly so.

It was actually really nice getting so much positive feedback on the forum today.

I feel like a lot more people get what I'm about than used to be the case.

The tongue-in-cheek narcissism is exactly that - and I sense I'm putting a few quid in pockets, which never hurts in terms of acceptance.

But it's pleasing nonetheless - there's people on this forum who I've felt have disliked me for years, that I'd never turn it round with, and yet it seems I have.

That's not something I ever needed, or even particularly wanted, to happen, but now it seemingly has it actually pleases me no end.

Roll on tomorrow.

I feel the same way about us lightening up your black heart, I never thought I cared but seemingly I do. Why is it this moment reminds me of one scene.

Can just imagine you uttering the words Help ! I'm feeling.

Aftertiming alert - it's been another rather good day.

I bet Goodwin each-way @ 18/1, Germanic win only @ 12/1 and the runner up Heavenly Heather each-way @ 40/1.

And no, I didn't have the forecast/exacta in the race as I bet four in the field and didn't do the combos.

I am obviously in a purple patch at the moment - long may it last.

I've sorted out business for tomorrow and had a butchers at Saturday's two big handicap chases.

But it's easy to be sucked in by these ante-post markets.

If you bet, say, three at 20/1 each and only one runs, you'd have been better off waiting and having the aggregate stake on the actual runner if you can get 13/2 or better.

Danny made the same point essentially, I think, earlier today.

But yes, it's my Blog and I ought to scold you for hijacking it, Outsider.

But I won't, I'm used to it - Walsworth and Maureen hijack it regularly.

And I'd miss it if they stopped!

I'm having an insane week - I keep backing winners at prices and/or not having enough on/betting them under the odds.

Midnight Lion last night - organised betting it at 16/1, SP 20/1, something like 27 on the machine.

Two Tempting tonight - at least I got 10/1 but didn't have anything like enough on it.

I haven't had a losing day in over a week and, though Cheltenham at the weekend was proper decent, I really haven't made the last three days count.

Still, can't complain - things could be worse, I could be Danish and living next door to Maurice.

Not exacting my biggest bet of the year, but I was on the Rian Corcoran-ridden winner at Wincanton today and my lethal 2024, but hitherto not-so-lethal in 2025 system bet continued its modest renaissance, but there were losing bets too and, though in front on the day, it wasn't actually that brilliant.

Needless to say I'm very much looking forward to the weekend racing, and that includes Windsor on Sunday, which I have an affinity with having attended two of their Jumps cards last season.

I think they're reverting to the figure of eight of old this season - I rather liked the configuration last term, but the traditional "Ultras" will no doubt be happy about this.

To make a change from the relentless aftertiming, YFUSA isn't going to talk about how Sturlasson, Neon Moon and a continuing golden autumn with the renaissance system bet provided yet another winning day and will instead focus on the frankly banging Chilli Beef Mince YFUSA rustled up tonight.

YFUSA will be off out to buy fresh accompaniments for it tomorrow morning - it's going to be an absolutely cracking weekend.

Non Runner news....

Warwick University 60th Anniversary Reunion

NR: Ian Davies

I'm in good company, apparently, I'm told Andrea Leadsom isn't going either.

If anyone replies with anything resembling: "You should have attended...." you don't know the first thing about me, haven't understood a word I've said since I rocked up here and can f%*& off my Blog permanently.

Apparently only 30 from my entire year are attending and there were 127 on the Law course alone, never mind all the other courses - it's not just the BHA that has field size issues.

Anyway, a really good friend IS going and he's promised me a full report - it promises to be surreal.

I have actually been back there a couple of times - just when no other f$%*er is around, much more pleasant that way.

Seeing as it's so foggy at Wolves they might abandon this is an opportune moment to give the latest aftertiming instalment.

It looks like I've forgotten how to lose and I'm loving the memory loss.

What did the damage today?

Calico 16/1 was the jewel in the crown, Rockola Vogue 9/1 was another, and I did end up having money on Electric Mason at around 12/1 on the machine.

And the system bet won AGAIN - it's been back to 2024 form for a while now.

What else?

Oh, yeah - the Chilli Beef Mince.

It was outstanding.

I cooked three Lasagne sheets until al dente and then did six layers of the meat sauce and extra mature cheddar cheese with the pasta sheets inbetween, heated it up and then ate it with a garlic baguette and sour cream.

I know how to live (nap).

Best of all there's plenty more where they came on and I reckon I could be on it until Tuesday.

Really looking forward to tomorrow's racing - including Windsor which I went Jump racing to twice last season.

Lost a bit today - and lost more with my system bet.

It's still been a proper decent profitable week, but I hate losing and it's taken the edge right off it.

I should have taken Walsworth up on his offer of a day's paragliding in the Upper Volta - trouble is, I always suspect it's an elaborate ruse to have me assassinated, so I invariably (though politely) decline.

You are welcome to come water skiing on the local river that was named after one of my ancestors back in the fourth century.
"He'll set up some water skiing with someone you absolutely trust, guaranteeing your safety, and at that water skiing you'll be assassinated:

Back to winning ways (via the system bet), so a good start to the week after the Sunday reverse.

As per, I'm already looking forward to Saturday.

Pic Roc and Panic Attack are the two I'm looking at for the Coral Gold Cup at the moment.

Solid win on the system bet minus giving it all back plus a bit more on the All-Weather equals losing day.

Much more of this and I'll have to tell Walsworth he's getting a(nother) pay cut, though he'd no doubt retort that 90% of f%*& all is still f%*& all.

On a brighter note, I'm going racing next year, mob handed with the entire OUTFIT.

The Don, the Consiglieri, the Caporegimes, the Button Men - it's all very Sicilian, though we are actually odds on to be going for an Indian, not an Italian, meal after racing.

Seriously, I'm jealous, would love to go racing again but it's not easy to plan now.

Promised myself a day at Newmarket this year but it never happened as my treatment didn't allow it.
