I've had better Boxing Days.

It wasn't catastrophic, but it's traditionally my biggest betting day of the year, I had 20% of my annual profit staked today, mainly on my System Bet, but, while that delivered yet another solid win, a series of near misses on my other bets more then wiped out the gains.

Worst was Banbridge, who I'd bet under today's SP at 12/1 win only almost a year ago, because if he gets up it's a winning day.

Ditto Tapley, Ivane and King Of The Road.

Any one of that trio wins and it's Merry F*****g Christmas - at least I copped the each-way place money with those three.

Looking forward to tomorrow now - I've got 14 bets on, the System Bet will be in action and I'm wheeling out the AW Data Model to give Wolverhampton a go.

Decent winning day overall.

System Bet was solid, manual bets went very well, with winners in Chasingouttheblues, King Of The Lake, Lunar Discovery and Williethebuilder, and the only thing to take the shine off it was the AW Data Model, which is now barely ahead on thr year.

I've got bets organised both tomorrow and on Monday already,I've got six more Monday races to look at, then I'm doing to run a couple of races at Santa Anita on Sunday through the new model, all while crashed out on the sofa.

It's great being me.

Losing day.

I just did my weekly accounts (I'll next do them New Year's Eve for the end-of-year numbers) and my ROI across all activity is 5.4%, about half of last year's, and my overall profit is 78.5% of last year's.

It all gets streamlined on New Year's Day to focus on where I've done best, this year and in 2024.

I've organised 14 bets for tomorrow so far and I'm hoping to end the year on a positive note.

Well, as much as it's possible to have it off with a System Bet.

It did all add up to a proper decent day and hopefully I am ending the year on a high.

On the food front, I've obtained some spicy Indian mint paste and Greek yoghurt and can't stop making restaurant standard dip and dunking onion bhajis etc in it at the moment - I'm feeling even more pleased with myself than usual about this, actually.

I feel a Winter curry phase coming on and this could last me well into January in the New Year.

Walsey, don't come on here for the 27th time to label it foreign muck - try to remember you're a socialist, not a Reform voter and, now you're following the winners, start spending the profits on some half-decent (ie not British) food, if your legions of physicians and nice nurses will allow it, of course.

IN Whitby currently munching on Fortnum + Masons pistachio + clotted cream biscuits, before heading out for drinks + Fish n Chips.

Solid winning end to the year.

Just done my annual 2025 accounts across all activity.

Turnover 49.6% up on last year

Net Profit 23.1% down in last year

Another winning year, but not as profitable as 2024 and, with turnover hugely up, it speaks to inefficient staking, with too much targetted at that which was the least profitable.

But I'm still happy enough - I'm enjoying it as much, if not more, than ever, which is always an unquantifiable plus and I've streamlined my whole operation ready for 2026.

Today has been an outstanding food day.

With the help of my friends at my local Asian supermarket, I've organised cooking authentic chicken seekh kebabs, with equally authentic restaurant standard mint sauce, at home - it was frankly outstanding.

I'm now off to enjoy New Year's Eve.

Listentoyourheart (who "Leafy" had absolute bombs on) 14/1, Breizh River 11/1, Star Of Guiting 8/1 and Matata 14/1 (though I didn't have so much on that as I was unsure about the trip) made it a cracking start to 2026.

The AW Data Model let the side down (again), but it wasn't far off winning tbf.

Saturday's racing is a bit thin and I've already done that and tomorrow's cards.

Might spend the evening being mean in small ways (I'm good at that - #nomoremrniceguy) or finishing off a Waitrose Christmas pudding I eccentrically decided to save for NYD.

But he surpassed himself this Christmas Day evening by taking literally an HOUR to figure out how to get the shortbread biscuits out of an M&S Light-Up tin he'd been given.

Hoping racing is on over the weekend, obviously, but have already made contingency plans in case it isn't.

These plans will involve a cookery project I've been researching inbetween races at Dunstall Park this very evening.

I can forgive the System Bet - it happens.

But I can't as readily forgive the AW Data Model, because it's happening too often and that's the first of my projects to now be in the red in 2026 - let's see what Southwell tomorrow brings.

As for the Manual Bets, who organises getting 7/1 Nocte Volatus (SP 11/4) yet still contrives to lose overall on the day on their manual bets?

FML sideways!

On the plus side I did a banging braising steak in red wine in the slow cooker, consumed it with copious numbers of French Fries (Peter Pan) and am comforting myself with coffee and double cream.

Tomorrow is another day.

In fact, everything I'm doing is winning, it's been a really good start to 2026 and my ROI across all activity is at the giddy heights of 19.7% so far.

Batch braising a chicken breast pieces with chicken stock and red wine casserole in the slow cooker to cheer myself up - it's working, it smells divine.

Which is just as well as the slow cooker chicken casserole was bland as f**k.

But fortunately YFUSA has an extensive harem he can lean on for advice on matters such as this and, after amusing a couple of them with his "FML!" tale of kitchen woe, some new slow cooker recipes are heading YFUSA's way - plus he's apparently getting pulled pork cooked for for him again next week by a lady friend who used to be a professional chef.

It's really not such a bad life being YFUSA.

Just as well my ex-chef friend gifted me a portion of chicken in a lemon-based sauce with potatoes or I wouldn't be entirely sure where the next meal is coming from.

Worst day in ages and I'm actually now down on 2026 which, considering the blinding start on New Year's Day, is somewhat vexing.

On the upside, I've had another crack at a slow cooked recipe I frankly got wrong and I'll shortly be stuffing my face.
