FFS, EC1....come on.....you are reading far too much into this.
Stating a particular race is poor in a historical context, or stating that it holds no interest, ARE opinions - and legitimate ones at that. It does NOT mean that the thread isn't worthy of discussion, or that there is something wrong with you for starting it in the first place. No-one is trying to suppress anyone else's voice, and - I can't stress this enough - there is no-one sat there lurking, just waiting to 'get you' whenever you post.
You need to get over the fact that people are different, and will react to threads in different ways. Some will be interested, others not so. That is a fact of life.
Clearly, you get deeply involved in reviewing races every day - because your personal circumstances demand it. I suspect you are probably quite unique in that regard insofar as the membership here goes, but you don't appear to account for it. You appear to think everyone should have the same level of interest as you, and anyone who doesn't, is somehow being detrimental to the forum. It isn't the case.
As far as keeping this forum going is concerned, I make my own contribution - whether it be through posting, sponsoring the Ante-Post competition (I think this is the 5th year I've done so), or occasionally remitting money to Admin for the upkeep of the site. This latter aspect is something I would have preferred to keep between myself and Colin, however, I'm not going to site here and be told that I'm part of the problem, when I know it's otherwise.
I trust this clarifies my position.
