Trump vs Harris

If everyone that had said something derogatory ( but true) about Trump during the interregnum spontaneously combusted I think that would instantly sort out the world’s overpopulation problem.

Only in your opinion
No, actually, it is more my perception. Membership of the single market - and its attendant increased immigration - was the big problem; and that was something we voted for anyway. The other stuff, like the EU insisting that the UK couldn't sell bent bananas, was all contained in the fevered editorials of the right-wing press. And if you believed that...

Whatever one thinks of his politics or him personally, it's a remarkable victory for Donald Trump.

In terms of electoral college votes, it's, at worst, a comprehensive victory, and, at best, a landslide.

And he's won the popular vote with in excess of 50% of it - which in my view is the greatest mandate of all.

And it looks like he's helped the Republicans not only win the Senate but most probably Congress (the House Of Representatives) too.

If you believe in democracy, you won't dispute his right to enforce his policies.

The next four years may be many things, but boring will not be one of them.

Sadly, I do have to agree entirely with this.

All the major civilizations down through the millennia have passed into history in ultimate failure. The USA has been heading in that direction for a generation, maybe even longer. Europe isn't far behind.

'[We] The people' have spoken.

No less an American hero than Abraham Lincoln is credited with first saying, "'Tis better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt." Americans have spoken and shown themselves to be utter fools.

They asked for this turd and will carry its smell around with them for the next four years, more if he is allowed to do a Putin on the constitution.

I shudder to think what these next four years might bring about.

The Americans deserve it for voting for him. The rest of the world doesn't but it will affect us all nonetheless.

Whether it's votes there or here, each side views themselves right and the other wrong in equal measure.

Why be part of a huge international trading bloc when you can be a tiny inconsequential country begging for trade deals from immoral populist ruled countries eh?
yawn still bitter about losing (both the popular vote and at constituency level so a total loss) :ROFLMAO:

it's a political union not a trading bloc

‘What are EU trade agreements?

The EU negotiates trade agreements on behalf of the member states – including Ireland. These agreements deal with preferential duty rates on the shipment of goods between the EU and countries around the world. They have also evolved to cover a wider range of areas to facilitate trade.’

What, another country interfering in the UK’s sovereign right to make its own decisions? Yes, I think that would be a bad thing.
The difference it makes could be enough to transform your economy overnight and with all due respect do you ever have major differences with the Yanks over foreign policy.

We might soon have a major disagreement over foreign policy, if Trump pulls US funding out of Ukraine’s war with Russia.
