I was trying to console myself with the fact that WWIII didn’t happen when Trump was president before until I saw the sort of people he’s taking on. Eg the woman that boasted about shooting her dog and goat and who makes Sarah Palin look like Mother Theresa. In retrospect most of Trumps first reign was taken up with the pandemic during which there wasn’t much in the way of foreign policy. Supposedly he’s going to clear the ‘Marxists’ out of school because they’re indoctrinating children so they can be indoctrinated with Trump stuff.

I'm not sure I've ever expressed an opinion on the latter on here, to be honest, and wanting Labour to win our election or the Democrats to win the US one doesn't mean I don't recognise the moral vacuum in which all sides operate.

Personally I think Trump will be no friend of the Palestinians but he will tell Nethanyahu to finish up in January.I hope I am wrong but I doubt 20,000 Palestinian children will die during the Trump presidency.
Supposedly Israel are cramming as much in now as they can so that when Trump becomes president they’ll be ready for some kind of deal. Which will include annexing of parts of Gaza and Palestinians not being allowed back to some areas. Of course 20,000 children won’t die under a Trump presidency…so man women and children have gone already.

Comparing religion to Cancer or Covid doesn't really make sense.
There's many peace loving people of faith all over the world.
I'd say the Israeli-Palestine issue is very much the extreme example of religious division.
A bit like the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
What should we do? Tell followers of religion to decommission their faith to make the world a safer place? That would be a nonsense wouldn't it?

People who kill in the name of their faith are betraying their faith. I don't believe any faith anywhere in the world advocates killing. It's people (mis)interpreting their scriptures for their own ends (power, wealth, status, whatever) who are behind the killing.
