When will the Credit Crunch hit the Bookmakers?

To be fair to Boyles, that was a logistical move more than anything. There are a few more satellites that you can pick up here than in Ireland and a pool of trained staff 15 miles away ready for poaching. Not quite sure why they picked Spain over Gib.

When will the Credit Crunch hit the Bookmakers?

Hills & Fred are both moving staff out here. Word is Coral aren't too far behind. This wouldn't happen if business taxes weren't so high in UK.

    Come back frost...

Good news, Bad news: Bad news: The wind and rain has returned to Gib today, causing all flights to be diverted to Malaga. All the Darts players (who were here for the Gib Open) were on these flights and all bar one have been taken up the coast. Good news: The one who has remained in...

Where did you lose your virginity?

My mate's sister's bed with some young tart from Woking called Sarah. Unfortunately I didn't realise my mate's sister's bedroom had a balcony upon which two of my friends decided to view the whole event. Going down the pub the week after and seeing them hold up pieces of card with 1 and 2...

    Woman problems.

Thanks all. And I do like the 'Clinger' tag. Reminds me of an army drag queen. Drawing comparisons between the two would, of course, be grossly unfair.....

    Woman problems.

Maybe it's just me but can any of you explain at what point does splitting up with someone 6 months previously but still seeing them socially and building up a friendship of sorts mean 'put your life on hold waiting for me to go out with you again' ?

    Winter Travel

Heading off to Canada for a ski trip on Monday. Shouldn't really encounter Thai anti-goverment protests or Deccan Freedom Fighters. Just hoping there won't be a francophone uprising.

    VAT reduction...clueless?

The one thing I cannot reconcile is the extra tax burden on the top few % of earners. Would it not have made more sense to allow them to keep their earnings but encourage them to spend it rather than save it - maybe by lowering VAT to 10% ? After all, the whole problem has been about getting...

    Clocks go back

My point is that you still have the same amount of sunlight regardless of the time of the clock whether it gets light at 5am or 12 noon. Simply change the working hours to suit - and when it comes to fitting in with the business hours of Europe/USA/Asia, shouldn't these companies be doing this...

    Clocks go back

Choose one or the other (or one in the middle) and stick with it. Racing changes it's times to fit around the light, as do so many other industries, so why should it be such a big deal with a business changing it's opening times to fit with the light rather than the reverse. Moses and...

    Andorra

I'd recommend any newbies to take a week long nursery class, that usually take place for 2/3 hours every morning, rather than individual lessons. You will be with people at the same level as yourself and will find yourselves egging each other on throughout your stay. You may also find...

    Nazi "Traffic Officers"

I'd like to add the Gib 'Road Authorities' to the poll, not that they would get more than my vote, though I reckon they come under the banner of Traffic Wardens. This weekend has seen the annual Gib Dog Show. With 24 hours notice they posted signs informing anyone parked outside my office...

    Nationalisation

Rather than under a Labour government that manages the economy into a position of long term, sustainable growth, that has cities that you (or, come to think of it, the police) can walk the streets safely at night, that treats adults like adults and children like children and that is cleaner than...
