2 Mile Chasers 21/22

Greaneteen was very disappointing but Captain Guinness is a fair yardstick and he was well beaten while Dunvegan won a very competitive handicap last time out and promised to be a very good horse when he was younger. Chacun Pour Soi dismissed them easily and while he mightn't trouble Shisken and Energumene he is better than any of the others.

Interesting the Ricci comment that CPS needs to go to Cheltenham again.

CPS v Shish and Energumene for the Ryanair? :p

I'd say that it might depend on which one Paul picks.

If CPS is the spare it will likely be Patrick given how often Patrick has picked up a Ricci spare.

If Energumene is the spare I would think it more likely to be Danny or maybe Sean O'Keefe given that he rode him in Cork.

Be Patrick, rode him at Sandown. He’s an absolute eyesore watching him ride out a finish.

For that reason I wouldn’t be surprised if he misses Cheltenham. Ricci may have other ideas of course

I don't buy the CPS doesn't travel narrative and I think it's general acceptance as fact means he'll go off at a value price in the QM. Last year the tactics were wrong, he should have led - much like the poor tactics employed on Min the year Altior was all out to beat Sceau Royal. They need to attack the race with him. be pro-active.
I think he hurt himself at Sandown.

I agree as well, but Patrick on board is off putting. Unless CPS can win on the bridle (he wont be able to) then I can’t fancy him.

Chacun was my selectionat the start of the year because I firmly believe he was wrong last year.

Thing have changed since but I reckon Shishkin will beat Energumene every which way but loose
and has more to fear from Chacun.......Grassy will no doubt want to rip me a new pair for saying so but I can handle it:lol:

There isn't a question in either Willie's or Paul's mind which is the better horse between CPS and Energumene. No 'we don't work them together' or 'we dont know, a lot of water to pass under the bridge' type answers. Quote Willie "We think this fellow, [CPS] is different league, but he hasn't shown it in England". I think, all being equal, Townend will ride CPS.

I heard some talk without seeing the great man say it himself that they will train CPS in a way that he arrives underworked as opposed to screws fully tightened

Still think Townend rides Ener

Yes WPM in post race interview with Nick Luck on RacingTV yesterday said that he only had CPS 90/95% fit and would probably do the same for March.

Envoi Allen likely to rock up here. As well as Put The Kettle On.

Actually a fair decent race on paper this.

Going for the Champion Chase according to todays RP -a few of the lads in the yard think she should have been retired after making history last year -apparently she has become fairly moody.Maybe she will come alive on the day or maybe she will be tailed off -time will tell.

She is a stone and more short of what it should take to win this QMCC. Why not run in the Mares? She’d have every chance there, imo (personally think Concertista is soft as shite).

Chacun's odds have all but halved since January and Willie Mullins said he wouldn't hesitate to ride Chacun Pour Soi if he were Paul Townsend

If he were to finish ahead of Energumene or actually beat Shishkin it's going to make the class of the giants look pretty silly.

His biggest asset is his extremely high cruising speed and if he gets first run on them he is going to be very hard to catch.

I think he simply wasn't right last year and the Hill is not the problem the knockers seem to think it is.

Nicky Henderson has openly said he fears Chacun Pour Soi and Shishkin is no banker.

He's been a great servant to Henderson but an Altior or Sprinter ? I think not

He's run a total of two times in open company. I don't know if the lady boys in Thailand are squirting more cum in your eyes than usual but you seem to have lost all ability to see clearly.

Seems they have definitely squirted some in your dirty gob.

Let me rephrase that.......Shishkin has been a great Servant to Henderson to date but an Altior or a Sprinter ? I think not.

The horse is 7 for 7 including a Supreme and an Arkle but my opinion is he's not as good as Henderson's other pair.

If you want to put forward why you think he's the next Sprinter Sacre be my guest but one liner shyte I can live without...

FFS, Tanlic. Why come back on the forum, just to spout this same old shite?

Precisely NO-ONE is saying Shiskin is at Altior or Sacre’s level. Everyone is saying that maybe he could get there (or close), based on what he has shown so far.

You, on the other hand, are directly comparing two horses who have finished their careers, with a horse barely half-way through his second season chasing.

it is an idiotic and false comparison to be making in the first place, and grossly premature to write Shishkin off as always going to be inferior, at this stage of his career…….not least because he has achieved just as much as the other two had, at the same stage in their careers.

Don’t you get it???
