2 Mile Chasers 21/22

I went out and had afew beers earlier my first for over a year probably thought I was somewhere I wasn't:lol:

However I stand by what I said. It was a good pace not saying it wasn't but far from being breakneck. The forum was talking and the media were hyping it you would have thought Energumene was Dunkirk reicarnated.

That's why I posted Dodging Bullets race which was breakneck so much so he caughta 90% fir Sprinter Sacre out.

I don't know what you were expecting from Energumene but I was expecting him to take off like a bat out of hell and then quicken up and that just never happened

As already noted, I expect to see a different Energumene next week. Remain convinced he'll be better than Shishkin.

Much as I admire your judgement, reet, I hope you’re wrong or I’ll have my arse hanging out of my trousers.

No disrespect, but I hope a lot of others will, too. Fairly sure Engi will run in this, despite what else WM runs.

Is Chacun Pour Soi taking a mild wobble on Betfair (out to 8.0)?

Bookies have Shishkin in so many multiples they have to try and get more revenue in.

Despite having backed Shishkin ante post just before he beat Enegumene I still think Chacun Pour Soi is one very serious horse.

The speed he showed over the last 4 fences in the Dublin Chase even Shishkin would have done well to match.

Of course the first thing people will say is the course doesn't suit him but after only one run there?

I could see him travelling just behind the leaders and kicking from the top of the hill. I can't see Energumene having the speed to go with him
and Nico can't afford to be losing ground there and hope the turbo kicks in again.

If I were Nico I would go where Chaun Pour Soi goes have Shishkin in top gear from 2 out and don't give Chacun a minutes peace on the run to the last.

Getting Chacun Pour Soi at his best off the bridle is easier said than done but Nico will be well aware of the danger.

I believe the plan is to go early if possible like he did in the Arkle.

I'm trying to work out the tactical approach. Will they stalk Put the Kettle on? Will CPS try run the legs of them? Will Energumene get a soft lead.

I agree with Granger - race of the week, certainly in terms of options and outcomes.

I'm going to give CPS one more chance.

Reckon a soft lead is the last thing Engi needs, a streched out field would be ideal for the best jumper in the race, imo. Jockey bookings will be a major tell, in this.

CPS leads on the inside Energumene at his withers. They go at CPS pace. Shiskin decides to tuck in or go wider.

Going for the Champion Chase according to todays RP -a few of the lads in the yard think she should have been retired after making history last year -apparently she has become fairly moody.Maybe she will come alive on the day or maybe she will be tailed off -time will tell.

I am going to do a 180 degree turn on this one and have a small bet on her -stable gossip has its place but she has won at the last 2 festivals.

Chacun Pour Soi TBC
Energumene TBC
Envoi Allen Rachael Blackmore
Funambule Sivola Charlie Deutsch
Nube Negra Harry Skelton
Politologue Harry Cobden
Shishkin Nico de Boinville
Put The Kettle On Aidan Coleman

Mullins yet to confirm what Paul Townend will ride.......This guy makes Nicky look like a saint:lol:

SHOCK NEWS; Willie does what he always said he would do and runs Energumene and Chacun in the Champion.

Last piece of the jigsaw is the ground. Luckily Shishkin and Energumene have both handled similar before but Chacun Pour Soi is unlikely to handle it.

My head and my money says Shishkin but my heart says Chacun......que sera should be a cracker barring accidents
