Ante-Post Punting Plans/Propositions Thread.

Traprain Law entered for the 2 mile handicap chase in Ayr's 1.15 Saturday. He's a seriously nice chance if it stays soft.

He could be competing in graded chases next season I reckon. Let's deal with this first though.

Willie Mullins to win the British trainers title. 10/1

After he has trained 14 winners and ten placed at the Cheltenham Festival, the Midlands grand national and the Grand National with Stattler he won't be far away.

Probably sewn up now with the win in the Scottish Nash. Great shout

Couple I backed last night:
Amirite for the Whitbread. 25s seems to big with a resonable weather forecast

Charyn. I expected to be near enough fav for the 365 Mile when I perused the entries but he's third dog at 5/1. I do respect Nostrum but Charyn was most taking when he won at Donny and although it wasn't a great race I liked the way he did it and it's plain he's improved. Lord North is a fav to take on over a mile nowadays.

Couldn't resist Rhoscolyn 25/1 for the Victoria cup on Saturday.
Was also entered for a 60,000 euro race at Cork on Friday night but has been taken out of that.

Not actually backed him yet as he's entered up at Lingers and Ascot but will punt True Legend in whatever race he runs in this Saturday, His second to Alkasib at Ascot last Autumn I think is good form.

I've also taken 10s about Beauvatier for the Jockey Club. He caught my eye when I was familiarising myself with the leading 2yos from last year and I believe he'll only come into his own at 10f plus so I'm not interested in him for the Poulains. The market for this race looks off with the AOB horses at the top of it. Not having that.

Well done Outsider.

Couple next Wed at York. Sea Just in Time in the Musidora 7/2 at 365. I'd have her fav over the Gosden filly.

Summerghand in the sprint. Ungodly well handicapped now it's just a case of when is the handbrake off. He wasn't off a yard at Newmarket the last day but if that's the case again here he might drop too far to get in the Wokingham. Worth a dig at 10s.

The brother has been on the phone to congratulate me on having a big price about Los Angeles for the Derby.

His memory is much more elephantine than mine when it comes to these things and he is adamant that I phoned him last year to tell him I'd taken "something like 50/1" about it for the Derby (presumably before it ran at Saint-Cloud) but I have no recollection, nothing is listed in my 2023 ante-post log beyond June last year, and it isn't coming up as an unsettled bet in any of my accounts although I know sometimes the searches don't go back any more than about six weeks unless you specify so and I can't be arsed to trawl through them all.

Still, it will be interesting to see if it surfaces come Derby day. 8/1 atm doesn't do anything for me.

I'm hoping the heavens open for Monsieur Kodi on Wednesday.

Best form on good to soft or soft.

If he gets a bit of cut in the ground I think he's on a nice mark and open to more improvement this season.

Ha how you keeping fella.

I see you knocked in a big price winner a few days ago. Well done, sir.

I'm doubting if the rain will get in to the ground as I'd hoped for Kodi.

I'm off to check the weather forecast again.

Matt Brocklebank agrees with you Mart.and Richard Fahey gives him a good chance.Fahey is in top form.

ROYAL HUNT CUP.
Real Gain 33/1 went into my alerts after its last run .mostly runs over slightly further so the risk is it doesn't run but 33s makes up for that.
Ladbrokes /coral were the only 2 firms with prices but today on oddschecker they are standout prices.
Most firms 16/1.

If I thought for 1 minute Whit Birch was a certainty to run in the POW I'd be all over the 6/1 like a rash.

Passenger is current fav and despite 2 wins since he was well beaten in the Derby. To be frank he beat nothing of note

Something stinks...........what am I missing here?

Sweet on Alflaila myself.

It only had the two runs last year. The win at York was good though.

This one could be another Hukum type for Owen Burrows I reckon. Slowly maturing. Watch out.
