Arse Cup

The BBC coverage was fecking dire. I wouldn't know who to smack in the face first if I saw them in five minutes time - Rishi, Willie or Graham Goode. Utterly fecking useless - and we're paying for these tossers' inflated wages!!!!!!

I didn't think the BBC TV coverage was too bad at all, when you consider it's a "national event", with most viewers not being hardened raceing fans.

I switched on radio 5 this morning to hear some of the pre-race chat, and Luke Harvey is as embarrassingly inept as ever. Why does he continue to believe that a total lack of preparation plus giggling equals professional broadcasting? That irritating bore Lysaght was almost as bad. Jason Weaver was fine, though, many lengths head of those two.

Sorry, meant the Australian Jim McGrath. Since him and GG are about as embarrassingly bad as each other I often lump them together.

Was the surge in traffic on this thread the reason for the site crashing?

BBC Coverage of the Oaks and Derby, discuss.
Awful awful awful. The new guy they have interviewing "the people" around the place is a head wrecker.

Jim McGrath's calling is getting worse by the day, blatently missing horses.

Just had a Thommo classic in the last at Ponty calling Charnes Parnell third when it was clearly at the back of the field.
Does he not know that Michael Dods' horses wear sheepskin nosebands.
The colours aren't even similar to the horse that was actually third (Pickering).

Having said all that you could argue even bigger arses are the punters who in running backed Charnes Parnell for a place thinking it was that horse in third.

Not quite the carnage of Metal Detector or Levantine but still inexcusable.

Was that Simon Clare Angus was talking to? Raven`s Pass with a better run could have got third, maybe second in the 2000? Has he seen the race at all i wonder.

"The Fashion Team" nap Dandy Man every year!

Carson tipped Henry, shrewd! :brows: His charity must be delighted.

God this is shocking stuff. Balding appears to be angling for the BBC royal correspondents berth, and now I've learnt how to dig heels into the turf to avoid falling over. The BBC seem to have specialised in broken pictures with their recent OB's and it looks ominous already

Its like watching the slowest car crash in history. McGrath thought that Heffo was on the pacemaker. I mean you can understand it in a 30 runner handicap at Ponetfract, but the first race, a G1 at Ascot. The Periscope asks Aido if he is dropping Hardasun back to 6 furlongs. Then cut to inarticulate fuqwads looking a hats.

I'm, going mad, Ted.

Those jockeys' wives won't be very happy with those 'fat leg' shots in the opening bit of this clip LOL

Mine's a big Sony square screen! - I can have it wide screen but I can't stand that - make the horses look a really funny shape all long int he back, never mind the girls' legs and Cherie Blair's mouth -
And I don't need a wide screen to look wide these days LOL

Interesting just now on atr talking about Murtagh's whip ban for Haradasun, and how they calculatedly take the risk of breaking the ban esp in Group 1s for stallion value, and only disqualification will change it. I do agree in fact, but it would lead to just as many hard cases as now.

I'll accept Chaparse wearing the outfit, including the topper, but why the feck is he wearing a badge.

Nice staged barney between Big Fat Mac and Chaparse over Murtagh's use of the whip on Haradasun.
