Cheltenham 2021/22

Have a great day guys. Sorry not to be there. An outside chance I could be there tomorrow.

If it had been softer, I’d have fancied Midnight Shadow (10/1). The form last year with Chatham Street Lad is brilliant but it maybe bottomed him.

Proper Cheltenham race.

I have to confess I was urging on Coole Cody from the top of the hill but it was great to be wrong about last year's Massey-Ferguson bottoming Midnight Shadow and great to be right about the form being the best in the race (4lbs clear top on my ratings).

Really pleased for trainer and jockey too.

Quite a few of the beaten horses will have grown up a bit because of that race and all the class horses were chasing the winner home.

I didn't back the winner but don't feel sick about it!

What a load of pish.

Did run 2nd in the old Massey Ferguson Gold Cup so far from the worst horse in the race.

However when you look back and see names like Gay Trip, Man Alive, Fifty Dollars More, Pegwell Bay, Dunkirk, Bradbury Star etc etc etc Pish is the worst description that you could have used

Also saw Tiggers - don’t want him to feel left out. Also a top man.

Logistics update:
I can report that Cheltenham Racecourse’s experiment in Members - where they have had professional bar-staff run the show, rather than the usual collective of spotty and bewildered half-wits - has been a rip-roaring success.

Oops I meant isn't the worst description that you could have used.

All three big Handicaps have gone to the dogs. The Mackeson The Massey Ferguson and you just need look back at the winners of the Whitbread which was like a list of who's who at one time.

The handicap chase that did keep its class was the King George but only because it changed it's status. It is on a par with the Gold Cup for being won by class horses

What a poor turnout for the Shloer Chase over 40K to the winner. It's not as if Sprinter Sacre is still around and the best they can come up with is 4 runners:blink:

The Greatwood has produced 5 or 6 winners that went on to run well in the Champion Hurdle but by the looks of the turnout today there's very little chance of that

Tritonic was once thought of as a possible contender for top honours. Today my bet will be a place lay on him who must have Alan King pulling his hair out by now.

Mighty Don looks the bet of the day to me. Ive been in absolutely rancid form though, not able to pick my nose never mind a couple of winners

Am I alone in thinking Politologue at 9/2 is absolutely massive?

OK, I understand the cases for the others and they may improve again into this season but surely his Tingle Creek of last season is the best form on offer?

What's to say he wouldn't have won the Champion Chase if he hadn't had his mishap in the preliminaries?

Small stake race for me, but its Politologue Im on. Though its his stable mate getting hammered in the betting this morning.

Jumped like an absolute pig. Thought I was going to get lucky. As usual i get another one beat.

Surely Adagio is the horse to take out of today, for a 4 year old to do that off top weight in one of the most competitive handicaps of the year is very interesting for sure.
