Cheltenham 2024 NRNB

Was very tempted to have 75% of my Cheltenham bank on Ballyburn at 6/4NRNB.It's not the way I play the game but I reckon he is an absolute certainty and I reckon there will be plenty of races at the festival that I will be happy to sit out.
Which race and bookmaker?

A friend of mine was at the yard last March and saw him work. His rider said he isn't going to the festival this year but will win the Ballymore in 2024.He subsequently won a bumper at Punchestown beating Slade Steel and Dancing City.

Supreme -was 6/4 with 365 earlier today but they have cut him twice -into 5/4 and then 6/5.Could see him starting at a ridiculous price -I would expect him to go on and win the 2025 Arkle.
Ah feck ya, when I thought there was 6/4 available I was going to ask the auld lad for a forward on the inheritance!

Moral certainty, whichever race he goes in IMO.

What beats Fact To File?

Rubys been trumping Supreme all season for Ballyburn, then last nights RTC he seemed very coy and Willie will send him where he thinks he can win.

Ballymore is much easier

It is but after that performance in a Grade 1 last Sunday logic dictates he should go for the Supreme.Unfortunately it is Willie Mullins we are dealing with and he could decide that Wednesday is the day.

What do you make of Firefox, he beat Ballyburn quite snug at Fairyhouse?

Ive been all over Ballyburn Supreme and stand to lose before a race is ran if he goes Ballymore.

Im guilty of over listening to Ruby, he gives away nuggets, all season he’s seen ‘Ballyburn as a Supreme horse’ yesterday, it was where he could win.
He’s already beaten the market principal in the Ballymore and the yard will know if he can beat the rest (there all Willies)

I had it 1/4 he’d go Supreme, even after Sundays comments. Id have it 10/11 turning up in either race now.

Any other yard, he’d be in Supreme

One was race fit, one wasn’t.

One stunk out the Lawlors, one has looked a machine since. Firefox be battling the likes of Jeriko for place money if Ballyburn went Supreme

Willie's yard wasn't in great form at the time -late on all the money was against him on betfair which is never a good thing with that yard.In my opinion the run was semi educational and he has obviously progressed from it.
Having said that if I had a lumpy one on Ballyburn the 20/1 Firefox would appeal as a saver.

The Firefox price at the moment is wrong.

If Ballyburn went Ballymore, Id expect an Abacadabra esc gamble on him.

Also the race Firefox won was something of a crawl IIRC which wouldn’t have suited Ballyburn

Sounds like Megan has just confirmed that Caldwell Potter won't be going to the festival, saying her old man wants to give the horse more time to settle in.

I had it at 10s for both the Supreme and Ballymore so am thankful for NRNB.

Unfortunately not -the double I was looking at was Corbetts Cross for NH Chase and FTF for 3 mile novice.Doesnt look the best now.

I reckon I will have a couple of oblique bets to have us roaring home Ballyburn in the Supreme.

I dare say Ballyburn could be a good thing but he simply didn't impress me as much as past favourites have.

Willie Mullins has an army of entries Gordon Elliott has 10 and Nicky has 8 so just about anything could happen.

I will be steering well clear of the race as there are much less complicated affairs with 5/4 shots to be backing
