Cheltenham 2024 NRNB

Taking outCaldwell Pooter (since it was NRNB), I'm left with (in the order I backed them):

Supreme: Mystical Power 16/1 ew
Triumph: Burdett Road 33/1 ew
Turners: Letsbeclearaboutit 16/1
NHC: Salvador Ziggy 10/1 ew (certainty)
Mares: West Balboa16/1 ew
Stayers: West Balboa 66/1 ew
Ch Chase: Captain Guinness 20/1 ew
Gold Cup: Corach Rambler 20/1 ew; 16/1 ew w/o GDC

OK, so a couple of them are not the cleverest but that's punting.

I'd better do Salverdore Ziggy then.and stick it in a double Tanlics bumper horse.

Obviously Venetia knows better than me but I've always thought 2m was best.
Speaking of Venetia knowing best, I do not get the Ascot Chase as a prep for l'homme Presse. He clearly is better the other way round and track/trip surely favours Pic D'Orhy who is a bet at 5/2

IROKO. for the turner's and blue across the board.i thought he was out for the season.

You’re right he was reported as OFS so it was a surprise to see him entered for the Turners and Arkle. I think connections said at the time he had recovered better than expected and they entered him “just in case” he was ready.

A big ask to feature in a festival G1 after a major interruption to his season

I quike like the idea of a horse ruled out for the season then returning for the Cheltenham Festival.
It gives us anti post guessers a bit of hope for future reference, when we do our conkers thinking that's the end of our docket.

Iroko’s owner may have something to do with this seemingly miraculous recovery!

Uncanny timing

Henry de Bromhead has revealed that exciting novice chaser Inthepocket is back in training and, while not committing to anything, has refused to rule out the prospect of the JP McManus-owned Grade 1 winner making next month's Cheltenham Festival.

The winner of last year's Top Novices' Hurdle at Aintree had missed his intended start in the Racing Post Novice Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas, having been ruled out in the days beforehand following a setback. It was thought he could miss the remainder of the season, but De Bromhead issued an upbeat report on Tuesday morning.

"He’s been back in training a few weeks now and we’ve been very happy with him," De Bromhead said of Inthepocket, who finished second to Facile Vega on his chasing debut at Navan in November. "We’re feeling our way with him and let’s see what happens."

Asked if it was possible the seven-year-old would make the festival next month, he said: "Nothing is set in stone yet, and no decisions have been made. We’ll see how he is over the next week or two and then sort out a plan for him."

Inthepocket is not entered at Cheltenham, so would need to be supplemented should a decision be made to target either the Arkle or the Turners Novices' Chase. He had been supplemented for the Leopardstown race before meeting with his setback.

Gordon Elliott is so taken by Brighterdaysahead he seriously thought about running her in the Mares Hurdle.

However she seems certain now to go for the Mares Novices and apparently they won't hear of defeat.

Brighterdaysahead 11/4 with a run looks like a gift as she will surely start much shorter on the day.

Shades of Binocular eh Grassy

Inthepocket as well. I guess when a green and gold horse is ruled OFS it doesn’t have the usual meaning

After the farce of a race at clonmel today over 3m William Hill pushed HARVARD GUY out to 16/1 for the coral cup and i used my epic boost so i got 32/1 for the win part of it.

I'm dutching the Cromwell pair against Dinoblue in the Mares Chase. At evens the stamina doubt about the fav is too much to ignore. The beginning of last season she ran against Impervious in that mares chase at Cork and she travelled all over her before getting outstayed and that was over 2m and half a furlong. On the new course I think she's vulnerable over that extra four furlongs.

While there is no sign of Teeshan drifting on the Champion Bumper betting on Oddschecker 8's and 6'6 he has taken a bit of a walk on the exchange 14. after PN would only say he is waiting to see if he is alright to run . Funny when asked about several others he never hesitated saying in which races they would run he said exactly where and whether they would run or not. Gives me the impression he is looking for an excuse to convince the owners not to run and avoid the Irish and pick up easy money at Aintree.

Or maybe he's got something better at home?

The time the other day was very slow. Could it be the form is iffy?

Teeshan - didn't beat anything that would stand out on paper as potentially really useful at Exeter, and there's a fair chance several in behind just were too immature/not strong enough to go in heavy Exeter ground and on a tough course. Good ground at Cheltenham will throw up a lot of doubts around a horse in single figures, but if it's soft/heavy, then we know at least one that won't be stopping.

Silly question ( and any one tempted to call me stupid again on here, please don't), why are not all the entries for one of the races at Cheltenham on a certain bookmakers page with a price? I'm trying to back something and it's not listed. Would they not put up every horse when offering NRNB? Thank you.

Maybe they think it's n9t running.is it on oddschecker with other bookies.
What's the horse/race?

I’ve taken a shade over 21/1 about the Tullyhill (Supreme) / Ballyburn (Ballymore) double.

Tullyhill only has the Supreme entry at the Festival, and the theory is that he was sufficiently good today that it allows connections to spring Ballyburn for the longer event.

I confess I was really taken with Tullyhill today, and he seems an ideal type for the Supreme, being a really stout stayer at the trip.

I really liked his run yesterday too

it looked like something just clicked
