Daily picks.

Gaelic silver loves soft/heavy ground has only run once on the turf in this country on the flat and that was last time out against big gamble insignificant move that I put up.There are a few runners with soft ground fornm in the race but not many, also off mu to follows six silver lane has been backed 14s into 7s.Was entered at Chepstow a few weeks ago and then withdrawn probably due to the ground, the same could happen tomorrow as 10mm of rain today, the ground looks like being very soft and I expect gaelic silver to be heavily backed 7/1 ppower!!

Astra hall similarly one of the few runners with lots of soft ground form, last season won twice could still be open to improvement was a reasonable third to sciottish boogie and aldwick bay last season off a pound lower mark.Play street looks the most interesting runner bar astra hall if repeats the form of early last season beating varnish by 4 1/2ls would be a certainty but form since that run not as good and trainer not been in form. One to keep a very close eye on as looking extremely well handicapped on that form.

The 6.0 at chepstow is probably one of the worst races of the day but its always worth looking through these race for course form as a high % of winners that win at the track have won there before or run well there before previously. There are two in tomorrows race shomberg hasn't been in great form but has won here august 2012 a mile on soft ground a better race than tomorrows and that field were spread-eagled.Dai burchells in good form and worth having a small bet as the this fellas only had the 7 runs on turf. The same applys to peak storm although on overall form some of these look better has only had the 7 turf runs and two of those best runs have been on this track,o'shea had a winner yesterday as well.A second last season over c/d on soft ground and last tuime out running on fourth to be nearest finish in what was a poor race but these two are comparatively lightly raced.Probably worth taking prices early as I can see both being bet!

Looked to be full of running tonight at Windsor yet never put in the race maybe needed the run but looking at previous run at lingfield when running wide and giving numerous lengths away to the 80 rated staffoss the current mark of 70 looks very lenient!!

First three placed in the lucky 31 with peak storm winning, first two placing in the lucky 15 with peak storm winning. If the other two place alone it will be a brilliant day!! Diamond blue would have won if he had broke well at all. Cheers lad.

Couple of nice singles and an 18/1 third which I spent half the day backing all the way down to 12s,crazy prices.Gaelic silver was 8s on betfair wasn't really watching the race that closely will watch it again but georgebaker has become a liability that's not just through personal losses but from numerous rides this season I've watched, although the few times I've backed him there seems to be no effort or he struggles to judge the pace.I'm going to be watching him very closely through this season, maybe he's struggling physically had some real eyecatching bad rides consistently.:ninja:.

A few from the to follows today.

Jack Dexter in the big sprint at York
Guising 3.50 York, looks good with form franked at the weekend.
Aetna and Right Touch 5.00 York
Swendab 8.40 Bath

What are your thoughts Andy? Aetna looks a big price and will like the rain.

Agree with that Benny, had a large each way on it back in trip, plus my theory on Mick easterby liking to win in the last came true yesterday as well!! Hoping it will come good today

Never did anyform as wasn't sure of the ground so did a few multis that Aetna I got the times wrong the day it won the time was infact slow although obviously could well be open to improvement still they would have to improve a lot.

Saloomy

The most interesting runner to take from a huge field drawn 22 and the only stands side runner to finish in the first 10 home.He was also over 2ls clear of his the next stands side runner after trying to make all and the fact he finished runner up to signor sassi on last run of 2012 only beaten 3/4l,signor sassi came out on seasonal debut rinning 4th to gabriels lad in a class 2 handicap all look good pointers. There maybe lots of improvement to come from saloomy only the 7 lifetime runs, could easily be overlooked next time out and be a decent price.

Saloomy-J Butler-6fs.

1st home on the stands side in the class 4 h'cap at Ascot and well clear of Muhdiq the next home on that side who had won previous 2 races on AW. Must have gone close if raced over the far side with some company.

Notice you put one of Dai Burchells horses up the other night Shomberg, you should have stuck with him till the last race!

Down in Chepstow!
Well possibly not but this Acapulco Bay has done me three great favours over the years, only one run on the flat in last few years but remember it winning at Bath over 10fs and has won on soft over hurdles, hopeful rather than confident.
Keep up the good work!

Dungannon

Seems tio be relentlessly getting backed but some of these tracks are not suited to his running style one that is is ascot.Last season 5th in the Wokingham off 97,then followed that up with a 5th when running on the standside, nearest other stands side runner was 12th in that race behind taajub. His last previous run to that at ascot was august 2011 when beating medicean man off 95 this looks his track and hopefully the horse will be forgotten and some attractive prices in the bigger races.

Dance and dance

Starting to drop down the weights looked to be full of running today behind Navajo chief and prince of johanne before not getting a run both those horses have run well in this race previously so the form looks rock solid.Dance and dance was running to a mark of 110 this time last year and even though 7yr old still only had the 25 races so when he hits form he maintains it and keeps running to those marks repeatedly. He looks one to follow!!!

mappin time,dark castle,bonnie charlie

Mappin time was the most glaringly obvious in this race as was left at the start giving away ground, travellled as well as anything to be hampered a furlong ot but still finished full of running and would undoubtedly been placed at worst. Now down to last winning mark and a preference for decent ground should be a decent price ion one of these handicaps. The other to a lesser extent was dark castle, similarly losing quite a bit of ground at the start switched a couple of times not convinced was trying to get involved at the finish midway through the race.Dark castles getting down near the 75 mark so could be massively undersetimated pricewise only 4 lifetime runs on turf currently off 78,never finished in the first 9 on turf so could be some huge prices floating around.
The last one bonnie charlie not quite sure to make of this run was ridden along early, look to come there travelling strongly then ted durcan looked to stop riding hard to be 100% as he may have been stopped in run.Looked like he gave up when thought his chance had gone, bonnie charlie currently off 78 has only won once since 2008 but nicholls had a bad seasson in 2012.Obviously would be wanting big prices with that only win in 5 seasons but that run looked encouraging.

1pt trade dark castle 25/1 365!!!
