Daily picks.

I've backed it at 25s and 14s I was hoping to back it again but prices just weren't there,it looks as though its been run deliberately on wrong surfaces and trips although wasn't showing much on turf either.Back the to the 5fs here is completely different, there are a couple more as well taajub and diamond Charlie both down in grade all better class than these. The only progressive horse ios expose.

Grey mirage

Although not appearing progressive after handicap defeats in the high 80s and beaten at wolves last run off 96 grey mirage looks better at Kempton.Winning tonight by 6ls in a decent time for the ease of win there's a few listed races at the track through the winter and i wouldn't discount even though would have to be lifetime best.Still only had 15 lifetime runs with 4/9 on the awthere's a possibility thart he's still got some improvement at 4 and if running at Kempton over the 7fs may just get overpriced stepping up to listed class. He travels so well and a lack of course form from other runners he may become a bit of value in some slightly better races..

Iptisam
Ladies are forever

The second fastest 6f race ever run at lingfield won by the fastest ever winner run there,so the form looks rock solid, the pace cut out by ballista, forest edge and first time out this season ladies are foreve.Ladies are forever the only runner from the front runners and poor draw finishing in first 6,there are a few more races back here before the end of the season she will be entered in.Last sesson she beat timeless call by 2 1/2ls in a very fast time of 56.67 over lingfield 5fs she will surely be back for that race, the one slightly worrying thing was seeing first time pieces on today. The only 6 runs she has headgear etc have been her last 6!!
Iptisam was just chasing the three front runners so may have been ideally placed but is only rated 91,folded tamely on previous run looking at todays time and previous run suggests this was an improved run.All the front three in this race came from further behind tarooq and hoof it 6-7ls off the pace so would be impossible to say that it was an advantage to have led or even chased the pace.Iptisam looks well handicapped still on this run and should win again, only 10 lifetime runs....

Hajras

Hajras was given a strange ride in this race wasn't travelling to bad on seasonal debut, yet fanning stopped riding 2 furlongs out putting the horse under no pressure and not oncve using the whip.Given it was winter derby and decent prizemoney makes the ride look even stranger,he could well have been
riding out for a place.Hajras looked promising at 3 then last season only 2 runs not showing much, but even though ion a mark of 104 looking at this run still retains ability.Johnston may have other aw races lined up and maybe even a step up in trip, looks better than this form so could be value over the next few weeks in similar races.

Well in with Seamster Gigs, Lee held him together nicely there

Only just saw this post,he could've gone clear in this race and won easily,i think lee felt guilty about the previous win going up 9 pound and he knew that there was still improvement. He rides horses in a way that encourages them to want to race on future runs, this gets interpreted as non triers or weak in a finish. He isn't that sort of jock that you will see in driving finishes with the whip and that's what I prefer to see for future bets.If you notice he quite often gives horses encouraging rub or slap after the race, regardless of ability would a jock riding non triers really be bothered with gestures like that...

Broclebank

A good quality handicap and track record, the field very compact at finish so you could pick out 4 or 5 in this as promising runs, nassau storm from poor draw had to be dropped in not beaten far and absolutely so running wide throughout but still stayiong on at finish even though up with the pace.I will keep an eye out for all of them if decent prices, brocklebank was no bigger an eyecatcher but he is the lowest rated and last couple of runs at lingfield been staying on strongly in two very decent handicaps. He was last throughout 8ls behind entering the straight, under pressure on the rail then in the last hundred yards picking up really well.He had run second to Alfred Hutchinson on last previous run at the track as well finishing strongly, off this sort of mark 83 there should be races in him and looks likely to be stepped up to a mile and could be overpriced..

Reggie bond

A poor ride by Robert tart not only chasing the pace which was always going to be set by angel cake and do more business, they both eventually finished 8th and 9th but heading them 3fs out, very poor tactically. On previous run had been held up for turn of foot beating todays winner john potts comfortably,he obviously isn't miles infront of handicapper but there should be another win in this grade in future although probably won't be great value one of these should be a formality...

Unlucky today Andy; 7-2 into evens and beaten a neck. As you say, will win nto but won't be much of a price.

Might've been a bit harsh on tart as horse was very keen in the blinkers, wasn't easy to drop in although going on 3fs out undoubtedly cost him the race..

Was going to do a preview but bit to competitive especially on the prices being quite short,i have some multiples running on some of my to follows tomorrow from a winner last night..

The lockmaster

Wouldn't normally put something up to follow after a run like this by Appleby stable, but the fact the first furlong was run at no pace and the lockmaster would've needed a stronger pace points to him being in very good form.Frontier flight was al;ways going to be able to have everything onside lack of pace in the race and looking better at 7fs he only upped the pace late on with too much toe.The lockmaster running best race of the season and hopefully won't get put up,or at least no more than a pound or two,now 2 pound below last winning mark although he maynot be much value,i like the way he almost matched frontier flight for toe at the end staying on.

Star up in the sky

When I first saw this result thought the time looked exceptional for a 53 rated runner, but track was riding very quick I still think it was pretty good but with the penalty which will be 10 pound then the time is negated to what about a horse of 63 would produce on that surface. But this was only second run since September, penultimate run behind Basingstoke was the race I put on here being the fastest of the season over 7fs that race has worked out exceptionally well George Benjamin and todays winner plus three places already coming out of the race.
Today she was dropped back to 6fs and they were virtuially all in a line with 2fs to go,probably confirming they didn't go that quick early but she quickened impressively. She was a winner off 73 in august 2012 she's still only had 13 races she also could be versatile with the amount of ear;ly pace she shows, infact she has looked a little to keen she maybe even more interesting give a chance over the straight 5fs.She could turn out to be a big improver on this surface and one to fiollow.

Bennelong

Have to give old timer Bennelong a mention after winning the hands and heels apprentice race, winning by 9ls but also in a decent time with the worst jockey in the race.Winning off a mark of just 49,shows even at 8 he retains ability over this trip yet been running over distances ranging from 1m4fs up to 2 mile over the last 3/4 seasons.Current trainer has only had him for last 6 runs and has obviously realized he still has ability over a mile, was reflected in tonights sp.He also brought him back to kemption, where he had previously run his best races over a mile back in 2009,everything panned out well for him in this race but with a decent pace under similar conditions will still be interesting even with rise in weights.

Strong man
Repitition

Strong mans looked exposed but was only second ever run at swell today, taken on by piceno throughout he did well to stay on well behind kung hei fat choy probably different class to these. He's off 68 one iof his highest ever marks but the way he travelled on surface this could turn out he's better on the surface and may pick up one of these when allowed to dominate.Repitition looks hard ride hanging both ways through the race, has won at swell on debut but ran poorly last run here.Still with only the 11 runs there could be more to come on the surface and I wouldn't be surprised to see some headgear. It maybe worth even trying him over a mile and his marks creeping towards 65 which would enable hiom to run in very weak races at the track.

Tizlove regardless

A very good time for a 3yr old only rated 58 1m36.21 infact I doubt any 3yr old within 10 pound of this has run quicker this season from memory. The johnstn horse has only had 6 runs, this large colt looked awkward on track and it maybe the surface even though he won easily may not be preferable.Out of top class sire tiznow, the progeny are very progressive from 3yr olds upwards and it maybe the Johnston horse could impriove for switch of surface.Regardfless of that he will still look well handicapped after this poor looking race today shouldn't be higher than 65 leaving him in the lower grade races. He could be one to watch closely as I wouldn't be surprised to see him far better than current mark,he may even go on the turf as well so could well be interesting early season...

Emerald breeze
Hustle bustle

Probably one of the weakest races you will ever see witth absolutely no form in the race whatsoever, biscuiterr in third the benchmark for the race only runner with any form. The form of the first two though may infact be quite good for this grade, biscuiteer being beaten further than any of her previous 4 runs on the surface and the first two were value for those distances.
Emerald breeze had first time blinkers and this was only 6th ever run,the time for a horse winning off a mark of just 46 although nothing special was respectable for the grade, looking at these grade races run there recently compares well.Even if she got a rise of 9 pound would still be able to run in these she should be able to win more races, she could've been called the winner 3fs out and quite interesting to see how much more there is to come.
Similiarly hustle bustle, she's also only had the 3 runs but she hadn't run since
june 2013 she only sits on 50 also so could well comer on for the run,the first two looked class apart. There are plenty of these weak races for the taking for the pair of these and they actually could be mildly progressive in lowest level
