Mondlicht

This stood out on the card to me I can't remember backing a maiden for years but out of Malibu moon it didn't look like one of those Johnston horses that was going to need further and this time of year at swell he invariably sends out one or two that are decent to run early season on the turf. The time looked good 1m41.36 carrying 10 stone on debut, although it has to be said the value of the form does look dubious with 104 rated hurdler in second and 50 rated runner in third. Also the 7f race on the card was very quick 1m27.10 so track faster than its beenm for awhile, but still looked a decent debut looking to have a fair bit in hand at finish. It will be interesting to see what mark this one gets as the form is held down by other runners,it maybe the Johnston horse gets let in lightly.
Just to mention hannahs turn stepped up in grade today yet was only just run out of it by two with very solid form in higher grade,i mentioned before she may prefer it when the track is quicker and on this run her present mark still looks reasonable off 85.

KKKAAABBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:9/4!!!!Only had 1/2 stone in hand!!!!:lol::lol::lol:

Going to start adding on a few for the turf:eek: the Johnston horses I've already mentioned that have won recently and maybe one or two that are laid out for early turf runs that mayhave or havenot run on the aw!!

Bretherton

This could turn out to be one of the nicest if not the best 3yr old run at swell this season, showing moderate form previously on the poly was on a mark of 70 in this maiden. He was in first time blinkers and his classic action on the surface made him look a natural, the time was only .17 slower than abi scarlet hacking up in the class 4 older handicap off 8-4 rated 71 bretherton carried 8-12 yet hacked up and could've won another 3-4ls.On those figures alone it would suggest that bretherton is top class handicapper a mark of 90 could even be conservative on todays times. The new handicap mark should be really interesting,he should get underestimated on previous form and he maybe one that eventually ends up in America,a very interesting and exciting prospect!!

Any chance today gigs, or out of his depth? You mentioned a mark of 90 could be conservative. Off 82 today but up 2 grades in class. Big outsider in the market...

Munsarim
Mister musicmaster

An eyecatching run from munsarim dropped out from poor drawn, then having to switch wide covering a lot more ground than other runners just getting beat by my to follows horse fleckerl. He is pretty prolific on the aw 6/18 but interestingly no handivcap win since july 2011 and has never won a handicap on the aw which is quite surprising. On this run with the ground he conceded no reason why he shouldn't win a handicap on all time low mark of 70 looks in real good form, even if switched bacvk to claimers with guaranteed pace would look to be worth a bet.
Mister music master not qwuite so eyecatching, but badly impeded 2 1/2 furlongs out probably cost him a couple of lengths he won off 73 and 77 in jan/feb at lingfield last season he will need to come on again but may just be coming into form.

5yr old now and as 2yr old looked like being a group horse clocking up some nice times, when winning at Windsor hacking up over 6fs in a time only .03 slower than joe packet winning off 90 in ver competiotve handicap on the card.On that run alone looked top class George margason must be really disappointed he slaughtered Compton in that maiden also looking like resurgence this season and had Mehdi behind by 4ls now rated 88 the 4th nothstarboy 7ls behind winning in America recently.Although that was 2 seasons ago there must be a chance he retains far more ability than 80 horse, today he travelled really well on the surface the race looked poor and pace wasn't great but he won without coming under pressure. He looks an interesting runner on different surface and George margason has often won big races by getting seemingly once top class regressive horses back to form.

As it said above looked moderate on poly, ran well today to be nearest finish
today under fairly considerate ride, they keep running it on these poly surfaces is yet its swell time was best of the season by 3yr old.Still can see him ending up in America at some point.

Fancy anything at Southwell today Andy? Was going to look at Gogeo but it's way too short. Sir Geoffrey looks to have a decent chance.

Emerald wilderness

A strong race with rebellious guest getting back to his 2yr old form and now one of the prominent runners in winter derby, this race was run in track record time as well. The form also has a sold look to it which looks questionable at first but the 2nd and 4th were 2nd and 3rd tio prince alzain in November in listed race at lingfoeld and the third moonday sun has only had the 5 lifetime runs,
Emerald wilderness is a vetera now at 10 but showed here he retains ability, started the season on 98 and now dropped to 87 lowest mark since December 2012.Even this season was second to Alfred Hutchinson off 96 at lingfield but has still managed to drop 9 pound since that run, pieces were on last night and may have been the reason for this better run. There should be far weaker races to run in over the next month and if very fortunate may get another 2 pound drop, that would take hom into far lower grade. He could a bit of value under unfashionable trainer it was only last season he beat grey mirage off 95 and was third to robins hood bay off same mark..

Tigers in red
Moonlight venture

This looks rock solid form backed up by the clock and the following 7f handicap, the time of the maiden only .16 slower than 77 rated older handicap winner the great gabrial, winner tigers in red half briother to snowboarder 111 out of spieghtstown. He won with a bit in hand at finish, you take repetition as the marker coming second in the older handicap off 71 that would have tigers in red on a mark of 70 with lots of improvement to come but running against own age group as 3yr old.He looks 80 horse on this run with probable even more improvement, the handicappers mark will be interesting as the form looks really solid with a bit of handicap form in behind from captain swift and the maiden on demand came out of at sailsbury. The second was nowhere near as convincing under pressure for most of the race, running green and hanging will probably see headgear on next time out but also half brother to wionner on surface 89 rated beautiful day. There is also some stamina in pedigree so may even improve with distance!!!!

Alfresco
Gypsy rider

These 7f races at lingfield always produce eyecatchers in these low grade races and I usually avoid most of them, but as the time was very good for the grade and winner ghost train had been runner up to seamster and bertiebluboy was back in third after winning three races recently I will give a couple of them a chance.Alfresco 10 now on downgrade but a couple of times he has caught they eye, here he was nearest finish he's only off 52 had hardly any racing last season with some guaranteed pace he could pick up one of these before the end of the season.
Gypsy riders profile is of one to avoid 25 race maiden, but again was travelling really well off the strong pace in this race until stopped in run would've finished upsides alfresco with clear run.I wouldn't be backing gypsy rider under double figures but as this was a strong race for the grade and time was good if there's some pace on worth a small bet..

Emerald breeze
Hustle bustle

Probably one of the weakest races you will ever see witth absolutely no form in the race whatsoever, biscuiterr in third the benchmark for the race only runner with any form. The form of the first two though may infact be quite good for this grade, biscuiteer being beaten further than any of her previous 4 runs on the surface and the first two were value for those distances.
Emerald breeze had first time blinkers and this was only 6th ever run,the time for a horse winning off a mark of just 46 although nothing special was respectable for the grade, looking at these grade races run there recently compares well.Even if she got a rise of 9 pound would still be able to run in these she should be able to win more races, she could've been called the winner 3fs out and quite interesting to see how much more there is to come.
Similiarly hustle bustle, she's also only had the 3 runs but she hadn't run since
june 2013 she only sits on 50 also so could well comer on for the run,the first two looked class apart. There are plenty of these weak races for the taking for the pair of these and they actually could be mildly progressive in lowest level

Karaka jack

Worth noting a few for the beginning of the turf season, the above race showing how capable he is on his day although doesn't win as often as you would expect.A lot of that is through his consistency since hid first ever run in sept 2009 he's never dropped below 73 and the majority of those seasons been stuck in low 80s so always running in very competiotive handicaps.
He's quite unique as most horses are deliberately run down the field to get to winning marks whereas nicholls persists with keeping him running well in higher grade handicaps.
He ran this week at swell a strange entry as usually comes out in april, has also never been allowed to race into November so has always had a 5 month break.Quite significant that he has come back the last two seasons in april,2012 winning off 81 then 4th to captain bertie in the spring mile then last season again comeback run in april winning off 73 the coming 2/1/2 in consecutive runs, plus later in season the above run.I can see him returning in april again more than likely Donny again where both wins came as well,he could well be underestimated in betting and with ground pretty immsterial worth a bet..

Euro charline

Aweak handicap but euro charline she could be on her way to listed class races although will still be running in handicaps early season, today hacking up by 9ls off 78 I would imagine a 10 piound rise after winning this weak handicap. She's out of top class myboycharlie rated 120,he seemed to go on soft and faster ground although never won on quicker ground was 3rd to new approach and rio deplata on it over 7fs.The time seemed good today she could've won another 3/4ls her race was 1.14 seconds slower than chookie royale winning the listed race off 9-3 rated 107 I think the time compares well with the ease of her win.The time was relatively quick compared to the class 2 sprint won by baddilini as well carrying light weight,i think she will be out early season and looks interesting prospect on all surfaces. Her mark of 88 will be generous I would imagine still and one to follow..

Dandarell

Moderate exposed looking 6yr old but the time suggests lifetime best run .21 quicker than 81 rated greyfriarschorista and carrying 3 pound more dandarell rated just 56.They did take each other on in this race so the pace collapse wasn't surprising, but the convincing win was, dandarell may even get away with not to big a rise as race was very poor and no reason on all previous form to be to harsh..He may get a lenient rise of something like 10 pound and if he could repeat this form would still look nicely handicapped,it will be interesting to see what the handicapper does.

Regal dan

Was hoping regal dan would be unplaced tonight has not been showing his turf form on the aw and his mark is dropping, last season he showed lots to decent handicap form began the season with a 2nd to shadaroba off 85 listed runners and group runners behind in that sprint. He stepped up to 7fs behind the professor staying on although only 5th of 7 was still very good form in a decent time.A thirdt to majestic mopon at goodwood off 87 then the 4th to Breton rock in ultra competitive races finishing with a 6th to ayaar getting no run. He's reappeared on the aw,appears to have raced to keenly in those races it maybe the tracks and surface aren't suiting, looking through the replays he has appeared keen on most runs but his form was so solid last season and now with these unplaced runs he could be massive value back on the turf.He could even drop in grade on the turf currently off 84 there may yet be another drop in the weights,he could pop up at a big price relative to his turf form...

Sir frank morgan

A Johnston horse coming back off long lay off hadn't run since October 2012 was out of the handicap, but the 4yr old gelding out of top class sire montjeu was big eyecatcher. He was passed by the eventual second and third woth 1/2 mile to go then he eventually picked up going away, just running off a mark of 46 there looks to be loads to come. This time of the season Johnston has usually sent out a few that are middle distance upwards turf horses and this looks like a classic example. This time last year Broxbourne was winning off 53,eventually winning off 89 last august, sir frank morgan although impossible to say how much improvement to come could well be another Johnston prolific winner..

Samhain

One of the worst races you will see at swell over the 5f straight but the winner was probably the most impressive winner all season even taking into account the opposition. With a furlong to go he was 5ls clear and looking round, from that point he didn't just canter home he trotted virtually at standstill for last 1/2 furlong still winning by 4 1/2ls he could've won 15ls and may have even produced a decent time if allowed to race.
He was racing today off 55 I would imagine he will go up at least 12 pound for this run probably more and even that looks to be underestimating his ability he could be a couple of stone in.He's out of top class sire Compton place produced some top class sprinters,i like david brown with sprinters the fact he's left him so near the turf season suggests he's getting him ready for early season and could be absolutely anything. The 3 yr old races are so weak for horses rated below 75 he could quickly knock up a sequence of wins and looks one to follow.

Streets of new york

This was debut run for brian Ellison for streets of new York 5 pound out of handicap but showing massive improvement on previous irish form, hadn't shown anything in Ireland since winning September 2011 so another shrewd looking purchase.I don't do nh form anymore but this was a class two handicap so was competing in decent grade, both winner and runner up from this race although winner 10 looked progressive. The third local hero has since been runner up to clever cookie, that winner has yet gone on again by 8ls,the 4th runswick royal has also won again off 139 winning same class 2 streets of new York directyly behind in 5th running off 114 now off 111.
Quite interesting that Ellison has run it twice on the aw at swell actual debut run on flat bar bumper runs runner up to mondlicht of johnstons that horse could be anything and today dropping back to 7fs.He was unsurprisingly left 10ls at stsrt yet made up ground to eventually only be beaten 1 1/2ls,i havn't watched other replays of the horse but tom eaves didn't go for the whip once in the straight. It wasn't a non trier as was given a decent ride just interesting if horse goes better without whip which might be something to look out for.
Todays maiden was .14 slower than loud winning the handicap off 69(could be well handicapped on surface)about 2 1/2ls quicker than streets of new York but streets of new York carrying 12 pound more over an inadequate trip.
Streets of new yorks handicap mark is worth looking at anything around 70 I would think is a fair mark looking at todays times and already Ellison is getting improvement out of the 7yr old and the hurdle form similarly from briefly looking at that run off current mark he has a well handicapped dual purpose horse. What will be interesting is streets of new yorks trip on the flat as these distances over a mile and 7fs has held his own but will surely improve for step up in distance, sire dalakhani.Equally those two bits of hurdle form were going right handed kelso and musselburugh which maybe significant,an interesting one to follow off lowly marks even as 7yr old!!

Greenhead high

Making all tonight greenhead high but showing improved form, probably fortunate winner with inexperienced jockey on the second. He's not a well handicapped horse as highest ever winning mark is 70 that was a year to the day tomorrow.Winning off 62 tonight shouldn't go up much for this win, maybe 3/4 pound, what he does do is run well when hitting form has 8 lifetime wins but 4 of those were this time last year.He won on the 28feb 2013 off 59 at swell, then off 65 and 70 and won on the turf off 60 all by the 31st of march, similarly 2012 jan won off 60 then his form went 2/1/2 so nearly all his wins have been around this time of year and in last two seasons. He could win again on the aw,worth looking out for when guaranteed lead also quite interesting last sesson was first ever turf win so out early season with fitness onside he could also win again on turf..
