Daily picks.

I've been following these more closely the last month because I've been so insanely bored by the racing on offer that the AW is actually a solid option to find a bet.

Samhain

One of the worst races you will see at swell over the 5f straight but the winner was probably the most impressive winner all season even taking into account the opposition. With a furlong to go he was 5ls clear and looking round, from that point he didn't just canter home he trotted virtually at standstill for last 1/2 furlong still winning by 4 1/2ls he could've won 15ls and may have even produced a decent time if allowed to race.
He was racing today off 55 I would imagine he will go up at least 12 pound for this run probably more and even that looks to be underestimating his ability he could be a couple of stone in.He's out of top class sire Compton place produced some top class sprinters,i like david brown with sprinters the fact he's left him so near the turf season suggests he's getting him ready for early season and could be absolutely anything. The 3 yr old races are so weak for horses rated below 75 he could quickly knock up a sequence of wins and looks one to follow.

He's a bit special isn't he been waiting a long time for reappearence :ninja: as i said 2 stone in hand pity the prices hadn't been bigger this morning was most impressive winner i saw the whole of last season on the aw or in a long time over 5fs on the straight there..

Certainly won easily today, was very impressive, nice to see Mr Fretwell looking to have a good sprinter again.
A few of yours going tmr Andy, Gold Class, Caledonian Laird are 2 i've noticed, any early thoughts on them?

Dubious looking form from thoroughly exposed 5yr old gelding, has always looked one to avoid running to marks roughly around 60 on the turf but if transferred that form to swell was entitled to run well in this terrible race but had run twice previously and shown nothing on surface although back in 2013.Will be interesting to see trainers comments as travelled like relished the surface, hacking up and the time comparatively was decent looking at the rest of better races on the card for horse rated 47 I would think nearer 60 when the surface was slightly on the slow side, this was an apprentice handicap so sitting off 47 another win should be automatic although overall profile suggests not, think its worth giving him a chance as looked natural on surface..
May as well have deleted that:whistle: was not an apprentice handicap so will likely be given a rise to that 60 mark,if he remains below 60 he might still be worth a bet if he gets ignored in the betting..

Will the lemmings send Golf Club off 7/4 or will it drift back to 7/2 in the last at Kempton tonight? Hard market to gauge but as an eyecatching loser LTO you would think they will pile in.

I have it in some multiples with 2 winners at 5/1 and another at sp with yesterdays winner,no chance of getting a single on and I wouldn't have taken any less than 5/1 any way for a single I was hoping it was going to be 6-7/1would be surprised iof it went off shorter than 9/4 5/2..

Gold club

Gold club looked to be cantering over this foeld after 150 days off,the sire multiplex with a 12% strike rate on polytrack the gelding looks like one to follow with just the 10 lifetime runs todays race was hacking up with 2fs to go then completely stopped in run running on under hand's 'n' heels just making sure he didn't hit the frame..:ninja:
A winner without a penalty only rated 62 he may turm out to be a 70+ horse on this surface and looks like one to follow, last season was 3rd at Beverley off 69 plenty of 70+ horsecbehind with the sire better on poly than turf he looks an interesting runner..

:ninja:

Stevie donohoe will have to have a lie down that's 3 winners from last 5 rides only had 40 winners from 500 rides...

Ruban

A 6yr old maiden with just 6 lifetime runs, the switch to fibresand showing a decent level of form sire dubawi so no reason not to keep him on the surface hacking up by 6ls,he could even drop back a furlong looking at the way he won this race. The time catches they eye slightly the track running on the slow side but ythis mile maiden was very similar standard time to the 7f race run by kung hei fat choy, the reasonable handicap on the card,it will be interesting to see oif the 6yr old repeats this form and progresses as had obviously had problems. It's difficult to give him a rating as he won so easily or even guess potential just looks an interesting runner to watch out for, think it would be harsh to get much of a rise for this win as there was little behind, currently off 74...

Nice one RUBAN.
7/1?

Only backed it as it drifted out to 9/1 never even looked at it when it was 7/2 so tiny bet on it and just as an insult fastest mile this season over c/d knew it was well handicapped from the time at swell but was hard to tell how well in it was..

Lots of things going on in this decent race, the 3rd 4th and 5th coming from the back sovereign debt, holiday magic and brigladorio grey mirage also running well from a high drsw chasing the pace the best speedfigures had come from the 2nd,3rd and 5th so made sense although unexpected winner.Brigliadorio was in first time visor was scrubbed along at the back 7-8ls off the pace with 2fs to go and racing awkwardly and having to be switched wide,an eyecatching run he looks still to be improving and only off 87 amongst 100 rated runners today, there are positives for all the first 5 but slightly more for the 2nd,3rd,4th and 5th.
Santefisio again the biggest eyecatcher in the field cantering over these with a furlong to go and no gaps, thats twice from last 3 runs did the same at wolves on fast run race when 3rd to pearl nation which he also should've won,he's difficult to back as the slowly run races never gets into the races and when he gets a decent pace invariably finds trouble,he'a 100 horse and although difficult to win with at least he's now going off 25/1 most races and down to a mark of 90,would be surprising if one of these races don't fall into place with guaranteed pace at some point still.
One that wasn't quite as eyecatching but was stopped in run was verse of love another with a furlong to go that was running on and stopped in run, isn't particularly well handicapped is always around the mid 80s but should get a nice little drop after 4 unplaced runs and can drop a few grades. He was third to Alfred Hutchinson jan 2014 opff 87 in this grade so on his day is capable and he will be going off decent prices now and todays run showed he's coming into form, lots of things going on in the race probably won't be much value in the first 3 next time out but the others in behind at big prices look worth following..

Couldn't be any better form with sovereign debt winning the wulfrina today and santefisio touched off in Lincoln trial another cracking day..:ninja:

Tacitus

Nice performance by 74 rated colt with just 6 lifeyime runs, did not look particularly well handicapped from turf and poly form but this looked a really poor race,he looks a very interesting runner to me winning by 9ls could've been nearer 20 and still produced a respectable time in a canter. The most interesting thing is he looks purely dirt horse, sire ap indy top class sire out of seattle slew on dirt and what Julie cecil does with this horse in future presume he will come back to swell and he maybe one of those rare horses that progresses so much he might be seen abroad in future.A really interesting runner to follow in future..

Bit of a veteran now kingscroft and now with Michael herrington, should've won at wolves over a mile back in October off 80 given a poor ride is not as good as he once was but still runs consistenbtly well around the high 70s won on the flat last sesson off 72 but was placed off 80 several times and then the run behind almanac at wolves as mentioned above. He seems to love this track is 3/11 and 5 other places, has already proven he likes the new surface and tonight was hacking up in this race but got no run throughout final furlong, surprisingly as has looked better over a mile in recent times and they didn't go that quick in this race only .44 quicker than earlier race won by poppy bond although the 1st and 2nd in that race were probably decent for the grade. He was hacking up for the last furlong of this race and again he may get another drop in weights, currently off 76 and a return to this surface with trainer not appearing to be in greatest of form he should be overpriced,if he gets a pound drop he will be off 75 and will be able to run off his lowest mark since march 2011 when he won here over the 7fs..

Black dave

A poor race but for grade not to bad and decent time, almost 1/2 second quicker than the first div won by point north, spowarticus is only rated 54 so looks well handicapped still all about pace so still open to improvement he can even drop in grade so should win more races. The most interesting runner was b;lack dave very suspect like by egan when the gap appeared and not wanting to finish in the frame, was pretty laughable surprised he never got pulled in as never touched the horse it was similar last time out as well so obviously either waiting for drop in weights or back up to 7fs.Not one for taking short prices but he looks a surefire future winner, quite interesting graham lee got loads of stick in this race for switching the horse inside yet egan rode no finish whatsoever on this one goes totally unmentioned...

:ninja:Sluices up nothing to beat today...early prices were huge...

Hardy black

Only 10 runs the gelding and he might be worth a couple of chances as slipping nicely down the weights, probably not one to go overboard with as he's had blinkers on,then visor last time out pieces previously and tonight fist time tongue tie so might just be hard to win with. This race looked quite competitive,he was stopped a couple of times in final furlong and hard to tell if that stopped him winning but if he gets another pound drop then a mark of 65 would enable him to drop into lower grade. He has still only the 10 lifetime runs so if they do find key to him he looks well handicapped, was second at Kempton off 68 over a mile at Kempton as well to gracious George so worth considering over the 7fs there as well.

What chance do you give Spowarticus today Andy? Looks reasonably priced though is up in grade. Do you still think he's well-handicapped?

KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKAAABBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!
Thoughhe was a bit special should've been 1/10 not 4/5!!:ninja:

Looked unbeatable had 20ls in hand on the form, backed the second ew at 10s as well and to place plus the fcasst which got ruined unfortunately..
