Probably worth following this maiden for the next month and should throw up winners, these Newmarket 2yr old maidens don't often turn out that great but the time unusually was pretty decent only .85 slower than El Astronaute winning off 88 in the 5f older handicap, that race was run at blistering pace whereas the 2yr old race looked steady early on.That time from the 2yr olds would suggest there could be some 100 horses in there and at least for early races should throw up a fair few winners, also was a lot quicker than todays 2yr old race, this race sets the early benchmark.Could be some nice bets in maidens/conditions etc..

Straightothepoint have taken 8/1 15/2 left with victor and corals, just a small interest..

Straightothepoint won this race last season and from the 2 draw on farside tomorrow drawn 1 on the farside last season just beating dandyleekie also running in sam, race there should be little between them again same draw for dandyleekie also stayed farside that day.Acouple in here like dragon king.he's very well handicapped first run for ian jardine hanagan rides and was 2nd in a race for horses rated upto 95 last season at ayr, also been backed from 12s into 13/2 will probably win if at its best and is also a c/d winner he's drawn 3 alongside STTP.Just thought the smart horse was worth a small bet as usually leads,a lot will depend on just how fast the ground is most of the big field races there now the sprints very little seperates them draw wise, says gd/fm hopefully will be nearer good ground and should at least trade relatively low in running.
Would also keep a close eye on best trip, although veteran now at 9 last season ran off his highest ever mark of 89,tomorrow runs of just 80 and with claim just 73 lowest mark since 2012,was 10th of 20 in the consolation st Wilfrid off 89 over this c/d so from what could be a good draw in 14 would be no surprise of ran well and one for noting for future races..

Sweet trades at 1.35 ran exactly as expected nice little profit for the day, although thought it had won 1/2 furlong out...was great in running bet runs exact same race everytime..

Had backed it ew then it drifted on betfair so had another bet at 8.0 and laid off at 1.9,bit gutting as never looked like losing, think if I carry on doing the form on the turf will be only a fewbets and will be a lot more of these for in running was going to pack in and just do the aw but if something owith an obvious angle like this comes up then it's still worth mentioning..

Some nice looking horses to follow today although both from O'Brien stable you had Alphabet winning the maiden in a canter was only .13 slower than the 6f handicap fo horsesrated upto 100 so Alphabet conservatively the way it wn looks a 95 horse and the last winner Orderofthegarters in the maiden just run .52 quicker than the lincoln winner rated 105 could be absoplutely anything and again you could be looking at conservative 115 horse already..Might not be around during turf season so thought i'd mention them, cracking way to start the turf season maybe worth looking at some ante post bets for the latter..
Just so it doesn't look exaggerated,i wonder how many 3yr old maidens have been run in a time over 1/2 second quicker than a handicap for older horses rated upto a 100 on debut run of the season in a canter very very rare I would have to look as can't remember any off hand...

Just in case Andy looks in before the race thought i'd ask what he thinks of Alphabets chance in this listed race today getting just 8lbs from stablemate Intelligence Cross 4th in the middle Park and 5lbs from Psychedelic Funk 3rd in the Coventry before runner up to Peace Envoy at the curragh. Alphabet as you say won very easily at Naas and h'capper has raised it some 21lbs but form of both races compared haven't worked out at all Gymkhanas and Alphabets, also ground will be quicker today. Myinitial thought is that Alphabet has it all to do today and has to step up considerably to challenge these 2 today but looks like has come in for support this morning, confused here, any help appreciated!

That's what i thought and giggs time comparison with Gymkhanas race hasn't worked out either! So why has it been backed so heavily?

You have a very different interpretation to "backed so heavily" than me. The market is basically betting the O'Brien horses at 2/1 coupled. That's not a huge leap of faith is it?

Divine call hasn't won on the turf since 2015,probably doesn't want the ground too quiock which it might be tomorrow plus has a wide draw but he is 40/1 and although hasn't been running to best on the aw did win off 60 in November on the aw but 3 out of his last turf runs on the turf was 4/4/2 off marks of 66/56 and last run on turf in october was 2nd off 61 for horses rated upto 75, 5 pound out of the handicap. This is a far weaker race and probably the sesson where he will again pick up another race, probably won't be this one for a few jnegativbes but 40/1 is a massive price off just 58.Thought jack laird looked interesting as well, has been disappointing on the aw,but only a few chances on the turf and quite a story won a race for horses rated upto 70 last season so slight drop in class for that one as well in tomorrows race.

Divine call 40/1 ppower 33/1 365/lads/totesport

Had some things marked off but hardly great value done some ew multiples don't know wehther I will write them up as far too many..

Mister music master 8/1 3651.7 a place

Mister musicmaster has looked regressive this season, was rated 82 on turf and 72 on the aw last season, better than these if running to those marks he now runs off just 62 and looked pretty slow this season. There maybe an angle which may see some improvement on last 3 seasons has hit form on 3rd comeback ryun winning twice and 2nd last season at wlves off 72,if the stable expect dramatic improvement you may just see a bit of a gamble luke morris rides.

6.45 Windsor

Cape discovery 7/1 365/sportsbook/victor/betfred/totesport

Cape discovery is 2/2 at Windsor still lightly raced although not shown much on the aw in ;ast two runs, gets to run off 84 just a pound higher than last win at Windsor over c/d,couldv'e easily have gone for lime and lemon another lightly raced one same with just 8 lifetime runs and on seasonal debut was
running on 5th of 19 at Donny in this grade.

4.40 Ponte

Jack luey 15/2 365 El principe2nd 13/2 general 7/1 365..

Jack luey gets the 1 draw at ponte has never won after a break so wouldn't be overly confident but won over this c/d in july off same mark with hanagan riding and does so again,if he's fit then has obvious chance especially if gets uncontested lead.El principe ran its best ever race last time out in better grade, again but of a chance really as drawn 11 hard tio figure from there the race just looks so weak may get away with it,although oriental relation from the 12 draw usyually goes off very quick and could compromise both horses hopefully that won't happen.

Behind miss Sheridan at redcar that looked a weak race probably the same as this although time seemed ok compared to the class 4 older handicap, there are a few that could well be better in the most obvious being sukarajima with hanagan riding, hopefully won't get trapped from wide draw and will at least be involved in finish

5.40

Miss Sheridan 10/30 skybet/victor

As mentioned above won that race at redcar, gets to run off 62 wth claimer taking off 7 pound was 5th to masham star at Donny last season off 67 a race that has thrown up a few winners this season in the last couple of weeks.I don't like using redcar times but the race she won was only .60 slower than 77 rated torrid winning the older handicap, again as long as draw and inexperienced jock aren't hindrance then should be involved in finish..

Was 2nd to deban in a Kempton maiden, time wasn't particularly anything s[pecial but another decent winner has come out of the race and won at Newmarket, there are lots of newcomers, this could be a really good maiden for the track think there might be a decent time from this race even if the fav doesn't win..

Now getting reports of rain forecast at ponte same old story, that would be a big negative for the runners I've highlihhted as good/gd/fm ground horses, hopefully the ground will be no worse than good..

Been a decent day one winner plenty of nice drifters and place bets, exactly what I was ex[pecting..

I don't know these irish horses and when they are given ratings that I've already predicted they are rarely cvalue in better races, never saw the race ran ok in 4th just looking at rrsul ground was a lot faster than todays and drop back in trip although I know nothing about the race as never looked at it..

Think this maybe the quickest maiden ever run at the track and yet this was only the 3yr olds 3rd ever run hacking up at finish by 4ls,the second was rated 76 so would estimate with ease of win handicapper will put him on a mark of 88 and at least on the aw that would look a very nice mark, has run twice on the turf over further and slower ground.Cannot see really why he won't be kept to sprinting, hopefully won't be thrown into listed races and try and exploit handicaop marks, looking at the time and ease of the win he could easily be a hundred rated aw horse in the future so maybe worth risking a bet on him on turf as well as being out of acclamation and the sire relishing gd/fm ground he may well be just as good on turf.If he is as good on turf on fast ground then the mark could similarly be lenient..reminds me of another horse I put on here to follow after winning similarly in quick time Encore d'or now rated 101 been slightly disappointing but still won 4 races on the aw but never won on the turf was 3rd on Saturday to kimberella..Hopefully this one will be better on turf as well and might knock up a sequence very interesting runner..

Given a mark of 93,disappointing although I will still be following at least short term..

Another aw runner on debut producing a good time, one of the fastest times from a maiden winner that I canm remember in recent times form doesn't look much through runners behind so this one might just get ocerlooked by the hanmdicapper.I always have a mark for horses based on their times, but as the ones I keep putting uo with my predicted marks keep getting ratings I thought would be underestimated i'm going to start leaving that little bit off until they become bets.

3.20 Donny

Desert rain 13/8 ppower/skybet 7/4 sportsbook/365/skybet

I couldn't say this looks great value but must be a chanve it's going to be odds on with the jock and trainer combo,i put it on to follows recently after running in a fast maiden at Kempton winning time 1m11.60 beaten 1 1/4ls but when I double checke it the track did seem to be on the fast side.
But with thart being debut run I would still expect this to be at least a high end 80s horse could well be something better in the maiden but looks like going off odds on.Should be a decent trade or play safe and get a free bet...

1.40

Logically should just be backing all the gosden horses blind he's winning all these 3yr old handicaps so knows he has the beating of the ones that have run, similarly bush house finished 4th at Donny on turf debut to bin Battuta and his horse khalidi won next time out in listed race beating salouen.Eldritch is unexposed and it's hard to evaluate others form but bush houses run has worked out quite well even though finished 5ls behind Battuta 3rd since in better race and as mentioned gosdens won.Probably worth a token bet with c/d form in better grade and ground should be similar, hugo palmers had two wunners in last few runners so stable on form..

Bush house 8/1 corals/lads/totesport/betfred

An ew yank, short prices again probably not a great deal of value small stakes, probably better on the place side than the one obvious fav think I will be knocking turf on the head from here on in bar 2yr olds 4/5 meetings aday plus all the overwatering to factor in and not healthyb enough to get that much work done. That's why I havn't been putting much up and the onlt reason have done these was they were a couple of maidens..Will be sticking to the aw as much as possible and ante post bets for the 2yr olds..

2.55 Leicester

Neverbackdown 4/6 365/sportsbook

Looked a decent race at Newmarket for 2yr olds and the time was only .85 slower than the older handicap for horses rate upto 95,could well be a 100 horse so if repeats that run something will have to be special on debut to beat it,the one negative is that the horse was given an unusually hard race for debut so many not be much more improvement..Still likely to go off very short though,if nothings backed against it wouldn't surprise me to see 3s on so could be a nice trade..

2.10 ripon

Capla dancer 4/1 ppower/victor/365

Capla dancer won on debut over c/d,won at 66/1 so wehther there's any more improvement and up against decent stables fahey and dascombe and a dalgleish gamble going on already, time seemed ok though ran faster than the fahey horse winning the first div.The negative could be the draw out in the carpark in 1 so couldn't be overly confident, would probably be better staying far side as last week draw nothing in it,but I doubt jock will show enough initiative..

6.0 Donny

Made of honour 5/1 365/skybet/victor/lads

This could be a decent maiden and made of honour probably looks a better place option than win beaten 7ls on debut over this c/d but that was behind benbat, the third jewel house has already beaten firefright tomorrow 2nd fav..

6.35

Fidaawy 9/4 365/corals/boyles/totesport/betfred

Another short price and first time out, looked like the ground beat it last run of the season when behind storm rock in tomorrows race so has to reverse that form,he did though win by 7ls when running over c/d on gd/fm beating fastnet tempest and that's now rated 89 and ran a decent race in the spring mile last week at newbury..

8.20 Wolves

I put spirit of gondree on here when he ran at Kempton over a mile ran abysmally, last two runs have also been poor as well although ran over 6fs last time out has been racing really keen and just not seeing out its races so that did look a desperate drop ij trip.Previous to those runs had looked a winner waiting to happen, was 4th to fire diamond and athaseel over 7fs at wolves running on atrongly from off the pace, the run previous to that was 5th to gossiping beaten 7ls off 56 which on the clock and form even now looks exceptionally good for a race horses rated upto 65.Tge winners now rated 85 the 2nds also rated 71 and the 3rd 69 while spirit of gondree has dropped 6 pound down to a mark of 50.Don't think Milton bradleys had a winner this season, but as this race is so poor and returned to wolves then worth giving it a chance with unusual booking of Robert Winston, luke morris usually rides..

Spirit of gondree 9/1 betfred/ppower/totesport/victor/lads/betway/365 there is some 10/1 but the 2nd fav stormbouns os a non runner so will be a deduction with 365/skybet..

10/1 without the rule 4 netbet/10bet/188bet

Is 10/1 generally even bigger on betfair..

Have to admit having watched replays I like this one less and less have just had a few coopers on it ew,think it might be a handicap job..
