Daily picks.

I hate this time of year, been looking at the goings there's been some decent fast ground then again today chesters now riding good, any rain on top of that will be good/sft soft and same thing at catterick 9.4 on going stick yesterday yet fastest time on the csrd today was slow by 2 seconds in that 7f handicap good going no gd/fm in there. There's 5 meetings tomorrow all I guess with watering are nearer good than gd/fm rain forecast i'd be amzed if any of them will be gd/fm good at the very best and probably some of them gd/sft just makes having a bet impossible...Was going to do some more multoples tomorrow but just too much guessing on the going, you're beat before they run will try a couple of small bets for now, watching the goings..

Nottingham 8.0

City dreamer 12/1 ppower.

It's impossible to evaluate most of these runners as new trips and lightly raced but Alan kings runner was an eyecatcher last time out apparently travelling really well and getting sandwiched between the 3rd and winner eldritch in what was on paper a better race, squeezed up and eased. The 65 rated runner showing best ever run hard to know where it would've finished but would've been involved in fiish, potentiallty this looks a weaker race and with more improvement to come could be very well handicapped, out of casemento 1m2f group winner and liked goodish and soft ground so if ground does chamge may not be a negative.I'd expect this to ne heavily backed if stable do think horse will repeat that form especially that being run back since october, numerous potential dangers this one looks the value based on that run..it's 10/1 now I thought this would only be around 6/1 so anything 8/1 looks decent..

9/1 hills 8/1` 365

Just 8/1 left with 365 if that's still there tomorrow must be a possibility of hugh taylor putting it up,can stop trains..

Doncha maybe worth a small bet can't see to many outstanding in this years race, last time oput hadn't run for 2 months and although was behind firmament that race was over 7fs at ascot looked beat 3furlongs on but still was staying on at finish so respectable comeback run.Last year was a big eyecatcher in this race obviously loves this c/d mile mile not getting a clear run from the near side group where there was less pace motoring at finish the mile here looks perfect trip so stamina amnd ground issues seem ideal, strictly on that form has 3 1/2ls to find with gm Hopkins but would've been close between then with clear run.The rest of donnchas form hasn't compared really bar the last time run here over the inadequate 7fs,looks a tiny bit of value on last years run even though on strict formlines has a little to find with a couple,16s at the moment seems fair anything bigger would be too far to big..
If the draw does favour lows certainly wouldn't surprise me if master of the world ran ok always races with the pace 3rd in racelast year and although appears badly handicapped
looking through the field doesn't appear to be loads of pace on so could surprise and hit the frame.

Donncha 16/1 Boyles,betfred,victor,ppower,sjames,lads,corals,hi lls,totesport..18/1 sportsbook

The Lincoln

I do like morando as was an eyecatcher in the above race and looked under pressure but was picking up again looked open to loads of improvement but is 7/1,plus I put yuften up for the aw finals at 14/1 is even shorter to win the Lincoln at 12s but fit and still well handicapped on old form.I completely forgot about this race last year when donncha looked to be coming through to maybe win the race, ran ok on comeback run last season when 2nd at Donny in the spring mile,5th in a listed handicap at York,3rd to franklin d at goodwood, ran well behind librisa breeze over inadequate 7fs at ascot then the run behind yuften plus a respectable 4th in a listed race behind estidkhaar.Doesn't look as though as a specific ground preference ran well at Donny in the spring mile after exactly same break as this coming season, also hasn't been over raced and last season showed its most improvement.Morando looks the obvious improverbut no reason why donncha couldn't run well,i havn't really looked at the race I just remember the above race being very unlucky..

Victoria cup Saturday

Donncha again back to ascot where has the unlucky run at the end of the season behind yuften and remarkable, unfortunately this is a drop back in trip a mile does look his best trip but ran quite well over the c/d when 7th of 18 in October behind librisa breeze.Afjaan was in the race and held up looked a little bit unlucky and strictly on that form looks to have the beating of donncha but is 5 pound worse off and donnchas more than double the price. At these sort of prices with all its ascot form its hard to not have some sort of bet on it even though the trip maybe slightly on the short side and even though horse is hard to win with certainly deserves to pick up one of these.Has been going off a lot shorter at ascot in these races than current prices and I doubt whether he will be bigger than 10/1 tops on the day again the main positive is the horse isn't ground reliant runs equally well on gd/fm as well as gd/sft,probably shorter..

Donncha 16/1 ppower/sportsbook 14/1 hills/betfred/totesport/lads/boyles/betway/

You could leave this till Thursday when guaranteed runner, may even be lucky and see some more 16/1 as well..

16/1 victor/32red/888sport probably could do with some rain to level the playing field against the horses that like the fast ground..

Ascot 5.10

Rio ronldo was an eyecatcher last time out, giving away 6ls start then getting no run at least two or three times looking an unlucky loser in a race for horses rated upto 90,tomorrow he runs off 80 last twice has fallen to this mark has won and has never run in this grade before. His highest ever rating was 88 last season ran 5th to misterioso over tomorrows c/d in a decent handicap again not getting a run, then again back at ascot over 5fs in an even better race a class 2 horses such as Caspian prince were running rated 109,the trouble is even though loads of ability the running theme is missing break and looking unlucky as doesn't get the breaks.
The price compensates in this drop in grade again a huge cavalary charge wth two decent runs here, there is a possibility of a big gamble in this race wehther false or not he went off 11/4 in a higher class race last time put so could easily go off 4/1 9/2 in this race and will end up a decent trade...He has also run well on all sorts of ground in far better races as well even though his winning form points to better ground he did finish 2nd to growl at Windsor off 87 on genuine soft ground, andrea artzeni rides just points to gamble to me from the 17 draw..
King of spin returned with new trainer Richard hughes and won a better grade race last time out,so easily could be improver still has obvious chance and war whisper of hannons racing off just 77 only 6 lifetimes runs was 6th over this c/d in a 3yr old handicap last season for horses rated upto 105 could be chucked in off an 11 pound lower mark..

Rio Ronaldo 8/1 skybet 7/1 ppower/victor/totesport/betfred 15/2 sportsbook/betbright

Plus some ew multiples nothing outstanding on prices just look ok on the place side..

Notts 2.10

Stanhope 5/1 sportsbook/ppower/victor/lads 4/1 365/corals/totesport/

Stanhope's rated 75 that's probably as good as he is probably unlikely winner but at least has fair bit of ex[perience a few newcomers the betting will be a pointer as 4/1 + prices if they are no good then would obviously be overpriced and decent place chances if they are drifters..

2.40

Casterbridge 9/1 365/victor 8/1 totesport/betfred/lads/victor

Casterbridge runs off lowest ever nmark tomorrow, she really prefers some cut although ran well last time out in a better race at thirsk finishing 4th
in a race for horses rated upto 85 that was over 6fs has never won over that trip.Tomorrow back over 5fs on a track she last won on as long as the grounds no quicker than good from the 9 draw she could run well, some rain wouldn't go amiss..

Lingfield 4.15

Qemah 4/5 32red 888sport 4/6 hills/sjames/victor 8/11 betway/betfred/totesport

If qemah runs to best then is obvious winner, not a lot of value in the prices the negative could be the draw if something can bag the rail something like ashadian could be the one of that were to happen.

Thirsk 6.45

Airton 4/1 sportsbook/ppower/365/ 13/2 sportsbook 6/1 ppower/victor Top of the glas ppower

Might be more of an open handicap than first appears airton ran well over c/d last time out, that was lifetime best run in a races for horses rated upto 90 so worth giving a chance and tTop of the glas was also in that race got a long way behind and then running on.Has dropped to a mark of 78 lowest since finishing 4th in cumberkland plate at Carlisle last sesson, claimer takes off another 5 pound to 73 as well, has never won over the trip but think its more likely to suit now.

8.15

Afaak 5/4 365 evens sportsbook/ppower 6/5 skybet 11/10 totesport/betfrted

Afaak ran in a decent newbury maiden the time seemed quite respectable and with natural improvement would be the one to beat on form seen so far, betting will be interesting after that debut as there is an Appleby newcomer and another lightly raced if they are no good this could go off very short..

This was so unlucky and should have won - not the best ride from the jockey who could have pulled him out but decide to stay in trouble. To make it worse I had it in a r/f/c with the winner. Unlucky Giggsy.

Orderofthegarters in the maiden just run .52 quicker than the lincoln winner rated 105 could be absoplutely anything and again you could be looking at conservative 115 horse already

Out again Deauville 3.15 drawn 2 probably make the running and set his own pace - 6/1 available - could be a decent e/way bet.

Ourvilles Million in the bumper at Ludlow at 5pm.

Has been weak enough in the market this morning but I remember hearing Oliver Sherwood talking about this horse and talking warmly.

1st run so may be that he isn't fully wound up but we'll see. At 15/2 I'll take a chance.

Brighton 4.50

A classified stakes race, won't see much worse than this Betsalottie even though rated 52 has only run 9 times on the turf three places but when running over 1m2fs on gd or sifter has run its best races bar a mile handicap it won off 56 on the aw.Lst season was 4th of 14 at goodwood off 56 over this trip and a 3rd at windsor off 62 for horses rated upto 70 and then 2nd off 56 last race of the season on turf, also ran 3rd over a mileon soft ground off 56 as well in another handicap. In the context of this race decent form amongst the older horses, the ? is wehther trying with all the 3yr olds lurking at the bottom gettibg lumps of weight,as Betaslottie would look a decent bet in a handicap for horses rated upto 55 over this trip and ground, the 3yr olds on some of their ratings should really have a bit in hand and there will probably be one or two better but as of yet hardly any turf form most of their ratings achieved on the aw.Horses like av a word and netley abbey based on their handicap form over slighjtly further look really well in if they do go on the turf should win, probably worth having a bet on Betsalottie and maybe some forecasts with the other two or small savers...

Betsalottie 15/2 ppower

Even though drawn 11 still wouldn't surprise me if William carson tried to lead this race so could be nice for in running on this track..

Beverley 3.0

Vimy ridge 8/1 ppower 7/1 365

Vimy ridge has become a cliff horse seems very strange that in 50 races only won three races so really one to avoid, but tomorrow gets first time
tongue tie, drops into this grade first ever time and the claimer takes off 7 pound down to just 63.His last two runs on the turf was 2nd to ohe boy off 73 and 5th to Lincoln off 73.He will win a race at some point but I won't be paying to find out to often just now he's in this grade one of the best opportnitys he's had..

3.30

Rousayan 11/4 365/ppower

Rousayan is stuck in the mid 80s currentkly off 86,last win was off 78 may 2016 over c/d,in general been running in better races than this and although not massive value the place side looks good at least, has been running in very competitive handicaps,it looks as though this maybe as good as he is so this grade his best chances..Been waiting for ellisons horses to hit form, only a matter og time and Gerry the glover thrown in on some of its form especially if some cut in the ground..

4.0

Miss bates 13/2 365/victor 6/1 ppower/sportsbook/lads He's a toff 7/1 365/ppower

A couple of speculative ones as most of the field stepping up in trips miss bates in first time tongue tie ran ok on comeback run when trying to come off the pace at ponte best run was over the mile last season on softer ground in a slightly better race dam was out of galilieo so maybe improvement stepping up in trip.
Same with he's a toff dam out of sire, in the wings rated 127 this easterby horse only rated 57 and has been staying on over shorter trips
any money for it would be intereting same with the Duffield horse miss bates..

5.35

Babalugats 14/1 365/ppower

Babalugats is a strange looking runner out of Elzaam apparently no stamina anywhere and shown very little rated just 46,debut run this season ran in a far better race over this trip beaten 8ls obviously is not very quick but couldn't say didn't stay as was totally outclassed but wasn't given a hard race. This one I would've thought will definitely be reflected in betting as the race is far weaker be very surprised if this shows anything without shortening in the betting probably one I will follow for a couple of runs, the best two with form are the two favs Amadeus rox and too many shots they do stand out in a poor race, another race where I will just be having a token bet..

Actually did the form based on good ground was hoping for a little rain but non so far,not what I read earlier today I thought the positive for the last two legs would be softer ground especially as it looked a positive for them and negative for the front of the market. That might not be the case now so keeping stakes small..

Best betting race of the month, only 3 had done anything didn't make that much difference the fav coming second just won a little bit less as the forecasts were so good that way round,8ls clear of the 3rd lovely jubbly..

Yes , to me it reads back 3 horses and do comb f/cs on the three, then why not just say back all 3 , these write ups can be confusing to thicko,s like me ,ok clever bollocks.

Tyrsal 10/1 hills..

Tyrsals 2/2 over this c/d won here off 57 last season by 4ls off 57 going off 9/4 favourite,in same class race as tomorrows for horses rated upto 70
then followed that up with a 4th to pivotman off 64 at Leicester on softer ground.Has shown nothing during the aw season but last time out although 8/8 behind one of tomorrows runners harlequin rock I thought he ran a nice race was outpaced but not given a hard race and even though the field were all out at finish he was staying on under a soft ride,he's only off 55 seens to likie all sorts of ground this is lowest mar since September 2013.There are some obvious lightly raced ones but if he runs to anywhere near his best would be involved..He has 4ls to fnd with the 2nd from the last run hopefully will get a lot nearer this time..
Poppytime ran well on Saturday so should run well and silver alliance was running off far higher marks last season and won two races with amateurs on one off 68 so literally thrown in here if came back to that form and is a c/d winner..

Hambleton handicap thursday

Will try donncha again, ran in this handicaop last season finishing 5th again unlucky in running that was off 101 has been given no slack as still on 100 even though only 2 seconds and a third in last nine runs has also not gone off bigger than 10/1 and that was just the one run all other eight runs below double figures. It looks like the grounds going to be soft
at least looking at the weather forecast, not entirely sure that's what is besrt as was beaten by firmament over 7fs on soft ground, but did run a little free in that race and does have previous gd/sft ground foprm.Looked top get outpaced at newbury in the spring cup but still running on on fast ground, the 3rd and 4th were 1,2 on Saturday in the Victoria cup so rock solid looking form, smullen rides and res[pectable draw in 8,worth a small bet in competitive handivap.
Firmament as mentioned above strictly has the beating of donncha when 2nd to librisa breeze and may well do again, although the run behind yuften donncha was very unlucky in running, sitting on 109 now firmament but could still be improving, only had one run so far this season 3rd to tabbarak in listed race should also run well.
