Belle de lawyers

Only rated 84 belle de lawyers the front 4 all at least rated 9 pound higher, she was sat out the back while the the first three were up with the pace, she couldn't win from that position even though she looked to be really travelling 2fs out.She eventually finished infront of pelerine another progressive type rated 89,it maybe she will prefer a little more cut the ground was getting on the lively side as the meeting ended. This was only her second ever run open to more progress under unfashionable trainer, will be interesting to see if her mark goes up, in all likelihood I coukld see her going up something like 6 pound. That would make her less interesting especially in handicaps but the ground she runs on might make her more interesting as a bet..

Secret witness

Ron harris has kept secret witness on the go the 8yr old hasn't won since may 2012,but his two runs here on back to back days he looks in cracking form. The previous day stopped in run when running behind Aetna in the 6f race but still not losing ground even though the jock stopped riding, then the following day ran even better over 5fs stopped and hampered and switched to be nearest finish. He hasn't won for a long time but the odd few runs have stopped his mark dropping and he always contestests the most competitive handicaps. He looks like being great value after these two runs, retains ability and earn't himself a nice drop in the weights now, both these runs were on gd/sft ground so it maybe he needs this surface but he showed he retains speed for both 5fs and 6fs even on a track like York. His present mark is 94 will get a drop off at least 2 pound after these runs, that takes him below the last winning run may 2012,he will still need a bit of luck in these races but he may be able to drop in grade and the prices will more than compensate..

My Name is Rio looks worth a go at 8/1 in the hat trick bid at Thirsk today. Baby Strange in the same race, but I presume the ground won't be soft enough for that one Andy?

Simple magic

A very fast time of 1m13.60 on the aw eased and hacking up by the filly, can't remember anything quicker 2yr old wise and considering the ease of the win probably one of the most impressive winners seen on the aw in recent times. Her form on the turf over 5fs previous looked average she may yet get a nice mark for nurserys, even if she doesn't repeat this run on turf she looks a top class aw horse.

Be ready

I got to watch this race while away and thought be readys run was pretty impressive for debut run behind somewhat the first two look group horses and the time of the race only .29 slower than gken moss winning later on the card. There looks loads to work with be ready and would imagine is a group horse although might not be a great deal of value such a good debut hard to ignore.

Barley mow,yuften

Two more that were outstanding on the newbury cards on the two days coming 1st and 2nd not sure how the ground compared on the two days but this race was 1.14 seconds slower than somewhats on the following day but lots of improvement to come from the pair. The time of the race also compared well to the very decent claimer on the card win by tatlisu beating balty boys .50 slower.Again hard to at least not have them noted with decent debuts.

KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKAAABBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!:ninja::ninja:Evens in a crap maiden!!WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWHHOOOSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

Hors de combat

Another impressive winner from the fanshawe stable time looked ok for debut run, although the races on the straight weren't run at true pace but wasn't far off askauds time .42 rated 86 in the older handicap. The following day the nursery won by dancealot rated 73 running off 8-1 yet only .20 quicker than debut run of hors de combat the times aren't really comparable due to pace but the debutant carried 9-5 in the maiden so can only see it as a positive with improvement to come.

Racing mate

One of the most interesting of the weeks racing as trained by paul d'arcy so there is more chance of getting overlooked in the betting.Racing mates seasonal debut and only .47 slower than the winner of the 3yr old handicap angus og winning off 81 but carrying 8-10 racing mate off 9-5.With normal improvement nurseries would look a formality so the mark would be very interesting as could well be listed class and with slightly unfashionable trainer would be more than likely overlooked stepped up into that class.

Talented kid

Another horse Johnston has turned around fromlooking slow in bumpers to hacking up tonight at Windsor conceding the 82 rated 3yr old vanity rules 11 pound and a 3ls beating. The time of the race was fast by 1.08 seconds good considering ease of win and over a second quicker than al jamal winning off 76 in following race, that winner carrying 9-1 winning easily.Looks yet another Johnston horse to follow and the mark given will be very interesting.

Just back and myself and partner have been sick since coming back so I've just had brief look through with the above don't know how accurate the times etc are above but they should still be worth at least watching out for.

Harrys dancer

One of the best speedfigures seen from the 2yr olds and from less fashionable trainer, the time compares very favourably with any runners seen this season never mind at the smaller traxcks like thirsk. The time infact is probably one of the quickest seen in recent seasions at tracks like thirsk and ripon etc, last season ventura mist ran at this meeting was 1.27 seconds slower than the class 4 handicap but that was second run, ventura mist went onto win the Hilary needler.
Today harrys dancer on debut has only run .58 slower than tumblewind winning that corresponding class 4 off 84,jock was actually looking round with a furlong to go and he already looks listed class hacking up on the day!His maiden win also only .91 slower than noble storm winning off 99 in the later class 2,the Hilary needler is coming up soon and looks obvious entry and looks worth taking some early prices if entered!!

Burnt fingers

Lightly raced filly with just the 6 runs, after this run looked one to follow this race has worked out exceptionally well the winner Trixie Malone has won again as has cossetted tonight off 73.The 4th Al manaal a further 7ls back in 4th has won off 80 and lady artise back in 6th they have all hacked up since, burnt fingers was beaten on Thursday in an apprentice race with no whips. The ground was also a lot slower than Donny so she may not like the ground to soft,on this form she looks worth a few more bets as so lightly raced.Quite interesting was the time as well .44 quicker than the 3yr old basil berry on the same card that night and that particular horse won again tonight at Donny off 79.

Was just going to ask what you thought of Harrys Dancer time giggs, considering Noble Storm ran straight from the off and is a genuine 100 horse. Was trying to fathom out approx what provisional rating to give Harrys Dancer but with the 2 yos supposed to need 36lbs from an older horse and considering was only 9lbs less than Noble storm was a remarkable performance. What would you give it as a tentative rating?

Lord of the nile was put up around 6/7 pound more than I thought he would be so doesn't look well handicapped I backed him ew but also backed the second at 10/1 don't think his current mark he's going to be much value now.
The 2yr olds I don't give ratings to its imopssible but I just place them in order of best times, comparitive times like that one tell you yesterday that he's listed class with normal improvement and at this stage very little has done anything on the clock so he's a nice marker.Plus there's the bonus he could run in the Hilary needler against comparatively nothing on whats run so far..

Adams ale

An unlucky loser adams ale this 5yr old seems to show his best form at ripon
today had 3/4 fron runners inside of him which got him 4/5 ls out his ground shuffled back.He then got no run and was almost unseated and did well to get third,he's still only had the 15 runs his profile looks far better at this track then anywhere else.Already this season has two 3rd to angus og and kimberella in better grade than todays race and last season was 2nd to cheviot inn a grade 3 on the track. The ground seems to be pretty immaterial and his form shows that 5fs and 6fs suits,he sits on a mark of 71 may even get a drop to 70 which would be an added bonus. He will probably be overbet next time out,but he looks more interesting when running at ripon as usually leads up from a decent draw on this track he looks worth following as looks track specialist.

Storyline

A very weak handuicap but 58 rated storyline won with a bit in hand and this first division was also .64 quicker than the second div and only .29 slower than another wise kid winning the older handicap off 86.On this run there should be another win or two, although unsure how much the handicapper will raise. She at least looks worth following short term.

Dinnertimeatmidnight

A maiden I've been following after seeing this winners time on debut, only .25 slower than apricot sky winning off 74 in the following handicap for older horses at warwick. The gelding half brother to dutch masterpiece out of kyllachy was given a mark of 81 after this run and was beaten 20ls at York last week after the ground had drioed out. That entry I think the stable just let him run hopiong for the best the ground previous day had been on the soft side and I know the stable weren't going to run him on quick ground.
Backstage gossip in 4th has finished runner up to penny drops at lingfield recently and tonight to really frank the form byrons gold won, runner up to dinneratmidnight getting 5 pound and a length beating and that runners third run as opposed to winners debut so the form looks even better now.
Don't think we will see much of the winner during the summer, hopefully will get a run or two just to get him onto 80 so he's not in the most competitive handicaps and then when the ground gets on the soft side should be a nice price!

Bright approach
Marsh daisy

A really impressive winner half sister to Nichols canyon, the time of the race quicker iof the the three races on the day but more relevant .63 quicker than the following days handicap run on faster ground over the same c/d.The maiden win .63 fgaster than top diktat winning off 78 in the older handicap on faster ground off level weights plus looked loads of improvement to come. She looks like she could be listed class already and the 4th marsh daisy not getting a clear run in the straight having to be switched to outer of field and not given hard race she looks one to follow with step up in trip, related to 5 winners up to 2 mile..

Pity it hadn't rained last night got 10s this morning 14s last night, the prices were all wrong the favs form was in a slowly run race in the pretty polly looked totally unreliable form at least on this ground and the 4th in the pretty polly was 6th as well.

I don't suppose someone who has the to-follows in a tracker could post today's runners (or PM me)? I use the racing post iPad app to track them but I've left the bloody thing at home and I'm at work now!

I have most of them on mine, I think it's seeking magic, come uppence, and winslow today, luck of the game is in my tracker but I honestly can't remember if gigs put that up, but I think he did. Also I haven't updated for around a week so if any are back out quickly I do t have them covered

Mubtaghaa
Winslow
St.brelades bay

An interesting sprint and think it will throw up plenty of winners, the time of this race was .65 slower than the previous days 2yr old race run there but the ground was a lot slower so comparituively these could be different class. The previous nights class 2 3yr old handicap was only .03 slower than todays Victoria cup and although that race was reasonable they were pretty exposed 3yr olds the time difference only .03 between them and the 102 rated progressive gabriels lad.The other races also on the card showing how the ground had gone from good to good/sft through the day, backing up the 5f race times.
The winner moonraker was the only runner to go with the pace and finish in the first 5 the next four all finishers so even better performance, although the haggas horse mubtaghaa had to be switched wide so the looked of comparative ability. Some lovely pedigress the winner related to group therapy, half brother bungle in the jungle 108,muarrab 113 and waveband.Winslow staying on at finish us pedigree half brother breders cup juvenile new years day 118,dam 113 and the 4th was an eyecatcher not getting clear run the hannon second string slightly better than this run as stopped in run.To add a bit more substance to the form, the paco kid was easily brushed aside in 6th betaen over 7ls and he had been 4th to kasb on debut in newbury race that has already thrown up 3 winners and unlucky loser in kibaar. This maiden along with last weeks at Newmarket look the best 2yr old seen so far by some way!!!

Hot streak

One of the best times of the season over 5fs at ascot if not the best by a 2yr old ,this group 3 .46 quicker than steps winning the listed race for older horses on the card and carrying 2 pound more than the 104 rated older horse.
Not only hacking up by 5ls with a great time but drawn 14 on stands side and ended up on far rail so numerous lengths making the time even more exceptional. He then went to Newmarket over 6fs losing to stable mate Astaire In falsely run race,he maybe just an out and out 5f horse and could still be one of the miost exciting 3 yr old sprinters of the forthcoming season...

Bretherton

This could turn out to be one of the nicest if not the best 3yr old run at swell this season, showing moderate form previously on the poly was on a mark of 70 in this maiden. He was in first time blinkers and his classic action on the surface made him look a natural, the time was only .17 slower than abi scarlet hacking up in the class 4 older handicap off 8-4 rated 71 bretherton carried 8-12 yet hacked up and could've won another 3-4ls.On those figures alone it would suggest that bretherton is top class handicapper a mark of 90 could even be conservative on todays times. The new handicap mark should be really interesting,he should get underestimated on previous form and he maybe one that eventually ends up in America,a very interesting and exciting prospect!!

Hot coffee

Solid looking genuine soft ground form and not form you'd be using on faster ground as all the first 4/5 look improvers for the conditions. Not much to take from the Saturdays cards but hot coffee maybe capable of winning something decent under these conditions. She was drawn 15 the only runner in the first
four to not come off the pace and with a furlong to go was stopped in run and hampered wouldn't have won but may have finished a a couple of lengths closer. She's only had 4 runs so should be more opportunities in the autumn or when conditions suit..

Stampede

Stampede looked impressive to me,hard to evaluate the form with 66 rated 66/1 shot in second but this race was .19 quicker than the maiden winner rpr 70 and stampede rated 74 carrying 2 pound more using those ratings then you could say pretty accurate. He looked different class to me,gave them 5ls start mnever got a run till the last furlong which will actually keep his mark down won by 1 1/4ls so can only see 4/5 pound rise with second rated 66.He probably wouldv;e won 4/5ls with a clear run and I thought this win was impressive looked different class to these, his new mark will underestimate this win presuming the maiden and the handicap are reasonable markers. He will undoubtedly get further and looks interesting runner, although it will probablty be his next run where he will be most value on new rating although will be short!!

Awful run from Stampede, very disappointing.
