Air force blue
Rockaway valley

Just when the 2yr olds have been showing nothing on the clock a decent race comes up,this 6f maiden only .72 slower than the older handicappers rated up to 105,this is the best marker set so far at least on decent ground and the winner and runner up look automatic 100 horses which has been hard top say about any maidens with confidence so far.The O'Brien horse had the draw and was with the pace throughout so might be better than winning margin suggests, although the second was drawn wide and dropped in and nothing really came off the pace so the second has done well and there should be some nice value floating around for runner up.I presume they will both entered up in group races and might be worth taking some prices for although I do remember anthem alexander ran the decent time at Tipperary around june so there's just 2 weeks left for newcomers to show their hands...

Phoenix stakes Rockway valley 10/1 boyles

Might be worth giving rockway valley another chance,as he looks the value in the race at double figures was easily beaten by painted cliffs last time out be raced keenly off what looked an average pace I don't think the race was run to suit. The following day the group 3 for 2yr olds at the curragh was over 1.3 seconds quicker than this group 2 so the form maynot be reliable. On debut was just touched off by air force blue,on sunday air force blue is priced at 5/2, rockway valley beat only mine by over 6ls in canter on second run, runner up to most beautiful in that group 3 following day, most beautiful priced at 8/1.Wouldn't say he looks huge value but worth a token bet on air force blue form on track he's recorded a decent time and virtually guaranteed paced. It maybe that he also needs another furlong, but there's no value in the race bar his double figure price...

Sun'aq

A rare 2yr old winner from Prescott stable and as there has been very little of note on the aw then worth giving this one a mention, the time was respectable for debut run
still .50 quicker the the 62 rated 3yr old in following handicap duffel, was pretty green on debut but she did well to travel so sweetly after early decent pace. The impression she gave there's a fair bit more to come even if not on the turf she could be a nice aw horse and conservatively I'd hope she was an 85+ horse maybe better after this run she should at least be worth following on the aw and hopefully Prescott has got a half decent 2yr old she looks half decent..

Silver springs

A very weak race with a winner that was impossible to find and went totally unbacled from the dave evans stable, egan riding the short priced fav strangely this race for its grade horses upto 60 maybe ok,the evans filly having her 6th run had shown nothing previously bar a second in a seller on second run so stable totally unexpecting this run as she had rin exact same races before and just looked very slow. The interesting thing was the time she hacked up in this race with Philip pronce looking between his legs a furlong out and she still clocked a time only .23 slower than the older handicap won by great expectations rated 65 the filly carried 2 pound more.Another thing were the distances behind the fav egan was riding looked well in had recorded decent time at notts but obviously wanted further but the runners behind the winner were over 3ls and 2ls and 21/4ls back in those places obviously with the weight for age this looked a dramatic improvement in form whther she will ever repeat it again is guesswork and she will probably get an 8 pound rise for this win although the handicapper may think the form is so poor with the second rated 50 perhaps he may let her off lightly..
Think dave evans thopughts on the race will be interesting as on this run she's run like a 75 horse if she repeats this run she will win again I wouldn't like to take short prices with this stable but as the time was so standout she has to be worth giving a chance to repeat the form...

Mr wizard

A respectable time by mr wizard only .47 slower than cape xenia winning the older handicap for fillies later on the card, both races were run at a decent pace, nick littmodens had a very poor season just the 3 winners so it maybe this one will be overpriced in future races.I'd expexct he will be entered in plenty of nurserys the second today had an rpr rating of 73 can't really see how the handicapper won't be lenient on this form the clock points to being a potential 90 with improvement, hopefully the handicapper will fall short by at least 10 pound of that to around the mid to high 70s as he has very little to go on.This should majke him value in what will be potentially weak handicaps from that mark..

Point of woods

I did say that adding on races after june becomes a bit meaningless as so many horses start producing decent times that you can end up noting 20-30 in a short period, have already put more than I wanted to already as finding the value whith so many when they will probably meet each other, but just hoping the ones I'm adding the handicapper misses and underestimates.Point of woods came from the 2 draw and crossed over to win on standside,in doing so producing a decent time and even .16 quicker than the 3yr old handicap winner Olivia fallow on the same card rated 80,point of woods is only rated 78 so looks well handicapped ion this run could quite easily be a 90+ horse and be running in listed races hopefyully will be underestimated with mark and be running in nurserys, this was far beyond previous form so looks like he's a genuine fast ground horse and will take advantage of that over the next month.Think I'd be looking to find some prices on him that maybe floating around on the real speed tracks as he looks an absolute speedball,he could well be massively overpriced in some smaller listed races, even though this was a little maiden at thirsk I thought this was one of the most impressive winners I've seen visually with loads more to come...

Hawkeyethenoo 25/1 Great st Winifred boyles 888sport 32red

Having not won since 2012 it would be speculative to think he could win again, but he has lots of decent form still and running off lifetime low mark with hector crpuch taking off another 7 pound he looks worth a token bet in what is a race full of mainly exposed horses. He ran in the shergar cup over 5fs last week 4th on ground to fast and trip too short and even on thart form would have place chances,on the 9th of may got stopped in run and was 3rd to speculative bid and Lincoln in heritage handicap having horses such as buckstay, zarwaan emell in behind.
The draw will be irrelevant with forecast rain they will split into two equal groups and that will leave 10 either side think clear spring will do the same as last year and go over to far side and lead so he shouldn't suffer any traffic problems with just the 10 or so runners standside and they do tend to completely spread across the track near finish as well, with the fcast rain it should turn into a bit of a test and it wouldn't surprise me if he ran well with less chance of getting crowded.I think he will either be tailed off or be involved in the finish all depending if he goes on track..
Spinatrix is the obvious pick she runs off same mark as when 2nd to outdo last year and her record here will crash her prices 11 runs and 4 wins and never been out of the first three if she runs to her best then she will take all the beating again, this season though she goes into the race with no recent decent form plus no conor Beasley, even if she runs to last years form you could virtually throw a blanket over the same runners as last year so it's no great betting race unless you know the mares at her peak.
If there were some well handicapped runners it would be a great race to bet in as those two groups guarantee you a clear run and would be a great race for ew betting with the 4 places the problem with this years race they all look so exposed and have the same form yiu could probably get 10 different winners..

Risk n' reward

A desperate race winner rated 49 and runner up rated 51 the runner up had never run on turf so you could excuse all previous form and the winner although harder to excuse previous form between them they still only had 12 runs so wouldn't be major surprise if they were far better than current marks. The winner sluiced up,ashley morgan knew he was going to win this even though only as mentioned the filly only rated 49,the ground may well have been the major factor as on slow side. There was a further 9ls back to the third which gives the form a bit of substabnce and although the previous race for horses rated upto 75 wasn't run at a great pace this very poor handicap was only .10 slower than that race.It will be interesting to see if these runs are repeated as they do look like horses that could run up sequences starting from rock bottom and the second was first run for new trainer.
A lot of these course winners at Yarmouth only seem to act on these sort of tracks so if not racing here I'd be looking at styraight 7f races, the wall horse looks like she will get a mile but 7fs looks her right trip. They may just win a few more between them

About time they got him on the right ground...:D

Lumiere 9/4 hills lowther

The running theme through the 2yr olds is disappointing races and as of yet even though shalaa and air force blue look the best geldings and colts there is still a suspicion around the formlines, the phoenix stakes was a slow time and the winner apart everything else behind finished on top of one another nothing looked unlucky and to produce such a slow time with close proximity of other runners towards each other it was as though the whole field underperformed. It would be very difficult to back anything behind the winner that day in future races which seems strange when you consider that was a group 1,similarly the fillies form has suspicious look to it as well.
Illuminates win at Newmarket was nothing special on the clock the 3rd blue bayou franked the form in a group 3 but there was very little between the first 5 home in that race squash in 4th beaten a couple of lengths rated 81 although I think that horses was under rated but shows how close these fillies are matched. The time of lumieres races was only a second slower than shalaas on the same day in that week of illuminates win,but she won in a canter and was only racing for the last furlong so was probably on a par with the colts with the ease of win.Going back to illuminates win over besharah and Easton angel there is now also a ? of Easton angel staying as well and the interesting horse from that race was rah rah you would think that Johnston has a great marker in there and surely lumiere is completely different class to that filly, yet she was only beaten 2ls by the main horses in the lowther against lumiere.I don't think lumiere is a certainty as she is so inexperienced but what I do think will happen she will be backed by every form student and her prices will be obliterated I can see her going off nearer to evens than 9/4 and being massively overbet,so she looks a very decent trade free bet etc.
One other pointer is the run of the 3rd from lumieres maiden win that day,the 3rd was shadow hunter beaten 6 3/4ls,shadow hunter recent 5th in listed race to whadoiwanthatfor
beaten 5ls a line through besharah has lumiere needing to find 1 1/2ls but how much better was lumiere on the day of the maiden win 10ls minimum impossible to surmount, most serious punters will factor that in and with other johnston markers will surely go off a very short price even if she doesn't win.

Oasis fantasy probably needs to improve In tomorrows race as the 5 or 6 infront of him in the betting have been contesting better races but most of those runners have yet top prove themselves over this track and trip, whereas oasis fantasy has plenty of form at goodwood and his best run over tomorrows c/d win was second to quest for more won the Northumberland plate next time out.The probability is there will be one with a bit more class in the race, but as he has the course form he looks worth a small bet at 10/1,he won't go off this price tomorrow probably nearer 6/7-1!!!

8/1 sportsbook Oasis fantasy

Similar to last time Oasis fantasy again appeared to have an excuse was cantering through most of the race at goodwood, then got outpaced before staying on again under considerate ride by hughes,he looked to be crying out for this longer trip of 2miles.Tomorrow he again looks unlucky with the draw in 17 plus unknown on very soft ground, but the race he ran in last time out was slightly better than this with dettori on it no doubt will get overbet and I can see it going off around 5/1 maybe even shorter with non runners....

Marsh hawk runs in the fillies race on wednesday ending the card, she bgets in off a mark of a 100 after disappointing in seassonal debut in a group 3 on ground that wouldv'e been to fsst going off 5/1 in this race she gets dropped 5 pound and her price is 14/1.That price at this moment would look massive on last years form,on sessonal debut beating fadhaayil by 7ls in a decent time faster than the 93 rated older handicap winner on the card and the group 3 winner on the card both over c/d on soft ground. She looked a bit special, disappointingly went onto get beaten by new providence at sailsbury over 6fs,that winner now rated 107,she then beat timba easily in a conditions race by 3 1/2ls timbas only had one run since and that was this season off 93 when third to nancy from nairobi and woodcraft.Woodcrafts been beaten by mistrusting since and mistrusting is 4/1 fav for this race so even just on lsst sessons form it ties in with the fav,she then ran 4th in grouop 1 having lucida rated 112 behind and then
as mentioned the seasonal reapperence on gd/fm ground so that was not unexpected. The fact she's got dropped 5 pound for that run,she loves soft ground looks like she may get it,a lot of the runners in this race don't have soft ground form if she could just run to a mark of 95 the 14/1 would be massive,as long as the ground stays gd/sft or worse then i can see her being heavily backed.IwAt worst she looks a cracking trade for anyone betting like that and there maybe even a few more books going bigger, the ground will be the deciding factor if she halves in price or not as the horses backable on softer ground you could count on one hand!!

The going today was utter nonsense as usual with ground a lot quicker than expected ,doesn't make marsh hawk look half as good now especially from the 15 draw some rain maybe expected so worth a small bet as quite a few books going 16s,i can still see it being well bet even on goodish ground even if no show..

Libran 10/1

Libran a massive improver with 4 wins from 11 runs started the season on a mark of 81 and now rated 98 looked unlucky lst time out coming to challenge 2fs out only to be kept in on the inside and stopped in run unable to gather momentum till 3 or 4 runners had gone past, eventtually getting beat just over 2ls.
He also lost a shoe in that race and although he got put up 4 pound he probably is well in by 3/4 pound at least,he travelled well throughout in that race and the form of that race is probably the best form in Fridays race, with astronereus and ajman bridge running 3rd and 4th at goodwood in an even better race watersmeet was in 5th and finished runner up to notarized on next run as well so the form couldn't be any better.
He's drawn in 8 while most of the main form horses are drawn wide as long as he goes on the track which he has won over c/d before and maybe slower ground than ascot then he really should be favourite fior this race,to be double figures on that formline of his ascot run especially if ground drys out he looks overpriced,it would be hard to find 3/4 with form as good as this and as long as ground doesn't deteriorate I think he will go off fav and if the ground drys out I think he'll be heavily backed after that fast ground run at ascot and with likelihood he will be up with the pace.I wouldn't be surprised to see him going off around 5-6/1 and probably a segal or taylor pick...
