Sad there seems to be no thread here on our premier classics:blink:
Looks like Derby might be less than vintage. Yet to scour the outsiders for a new Snow Knight. Of the big names maybe Elm Park, tho Balding did look disappointed after the Dante. AOB sure to run about six, so some mud will stick.
Oaks - I'm waiting for Jack Naylor to appear. The Stoute & Cumani fillies yesterday have jumped the queue tho I've done ante post already on Bocciata (might not stay) and Pandora after Musidora - front two weren't pulling away their.

Any other recommendations? .

I like Pamona, she was classy last year and he doesn't tilt at windmills. If she runs she'll run well I think.

Diamondsandrubies would be my favorite, for sentimental reasons.

The Derby looks wide open but Kilimanjaro may just do it.

The trouble with scouring the outsiders is knowing which of many priced up will actually run.

I'd bet the bookies have got at least a dozen they know won't run and would happily take a bet off you.

I see you can have 20/1 The Wow Signal for the Commonwealth Cup from Skybet which is very generous considering he's been retired to stud.

Most Derby's have the same uninteresting look about them there simply isn't enough trials beforehand and there aren't too many winners turn out to be as good as Sea The Stars.

I can understand the lack of interest....Once the Derby result is in The King George, Champion Stakes and the Arc are of much more interest to the punter IMO

As far as the Derby goes I still think Jack Hobbs will be a force to reckon with. For me everything played into the Dante winners hands and he could have been flattered by the result

Difficult to argue with the Dante result from what I saw and the reactions of all concerned.
The 1000 gns winner would be an interesting Derby supplement if Found is the Ballydoyle Oaks filly .
With her dam pedigree (full sister to Fame And Glory ) and Wachman training they have little to lose especially as the Ballydoyle colts seem an Arthur Daly mix at the minute though a lot of trials have been run on softer than ideal ground.
I would love to see Success Days get his ground and throw the cat among the pigeons just once in my lifetime. ( Maybe too much to ask !)

I think Handam's horse is a doubtful stayer on pedigree for the Derby. Ballydoyle's are not good enough and it seems Jack Hobbs might detour the race.
Quite honestly, 2/1 on Golden Horn looks good value to me.

Aye, Fist - but until he has, and we've some idea of the ground and opposition, 2/1's not a price I'd be rushing to take.

Elm Park was simply outsped by 2 quicker horses, and was actually gaining ground on the remainder all the way to the line.

I think they went quick at the front and Elm Park tired. Like Muthmir in the Duke of York really.

The Duke Of York was overly fast..97.9% race finish against a par of about 101%..Glass House ran about par finishing from off the pace....but the Dante wasn't like that to be fair..Dante race finishing speed 101.8%..just slower than par yes...but Golden Horn finished faster than par on 103%.

DOY was clearly overly fast race damaging front horses..Dante just looks a true run race with a winner that was quickening

Looked to me that the best horse won. I wouldn't be in a rush to lay him put it that way.

Yeah, balls to the Derby. Am way more excited about the prospect of Muthmir going off a nice price in the Temple and/or King's Stand.

Jack Hobbs will race in the colours of Godolphin, who have bought a share, and remain in training with John Gosden

Loose connections are fine Maruco given their purchase of any Bolger Galileo worth it's salt.
Coolmore , by dint of winning Irish St Leger trial ( or some such race ) at The Curragh last year won a free nomination to one of the Kildangan stallions.
I wonder have they used it anyone ?

It would have to be Dawn Approach if it was up to me!
There was just something about the way he went about his racing I enjoyed, The way he chewed up and spat out Toronado in the Guineas was beautiful to watch.

I prefer the real Toronado swatting him in the Sussex :ninja:
