Equine Retirements, Long Term Injuries and Departures

Just Marion, the horse which ran loose at Brighton with her blindfold on after her jockey was unseated at the start, has had to be euthanised owing to the nature of her injuries.

Irish Cavalier who pulled up suddenly at Newton Abbot on Friday has fractured his back leg, but has had surgery and three screws in it and they are hopeful he will be OK.

Did I just see a headline about wings of thingy that won the derby being retired?

RP now reporting a bad fracture to WOE near fore sesamoid joint.

A screw will be put in but the racing career is over.

Similar scenario to his old man, although Pour Moi never raced again after his Derby.

Our bad run continues i am afraid.
Tjukurrpa, the most improved Irish maiden/handicapper this year was found dead this morning at J J Walsh's.
She had been on a mid season break waiting for easier going for an Autumn campaign.
The dream is no more, for now at least.
Full obituary to appear on the blog soon; condolences to Bald Eagle , An Capall and her growing fan club here.
