Eurovision

We got the semi-final last night (god I love delayed broadcast). Much more stronger this year than last year. I have been tipping Serbia for months, but after watching some of the acts, there are some good ones in Hungary, Bulgaria, Latvia and Turkey. Even the ones in the final, Germany and France looked good.

Keep me posted, I have to wait another 12 hours to watch delayed broadcasting. :angy:

The Orchid household decided to tough it out and watch it this year.

'We' decided early on that Hungary had by far the best song and best singer, so it had no chance.

Eventually we decided to put our faith in the voting public and back up our choice with hard cash (4 places) but I sneaked a decent saver on Russia at 5/1 (where the f*ck is the 10/1 the RP mentioned??)

All the acts have finished singing now GA, we are just having a another quick look at the acts before the interlude.

I was quite surprised at how popular Scooch seemed . My money is still on Ukraine as it is just plain daft! [ Turkey to be placed.]

Hang on a minute there Warbler, there is nothing wrong with the Finns.
Why are you watching it if you don't like it?
I'm not any more. I tried and couldn't do anymore when we came out with something like 'trying a fag', and have switched to Millionaire. Doesn't stop Helsinki having no night life though. Very beautiful place, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't notice, how can we say this without sounding sexist, a certain trait in their female population. Even though I went there in the height of Summer I did get conerned about what of the games they seem to play in the pub. It involved having a mooses head on the wall with antlers etc, and a chain with a ring on it. You had to stand so far back and then try and swing the loop onto an antler

They must have seriosuly harsh winters

It would appear events have over-taken me. Time for the political voting, I can stomach that. Try Bulgaria that's my tip.

Thanks Diminuendo.

Amen to democracy, and political voting.

Based on political voting, the winner will come from the Eastern Block.

Serbia are doing very well!

The UK are going to crash out of that shite euro plane.
GO SERBIA!

I hope she sings the song in English if she wins.

How are Latvia, Hungary and Bulgaria doing?

I loved it when Terry Wogan described it as 'The Balkan Friendship Society'

Plus our guaranteed 12 points from Malta !!! Got to love this voting !!!
The best George Cross ever awarded and they never fell under Nazi control. They gives us 12 every year. Denmark used to give us a lot too but they've been airbrushed . Ireland, despite everything we've done to them historically still gives us the odd few.

I suggest we send the Millwall skinhead ensemble next year

"We are Britain, we are Britain
No one likes us
We don't care
We are Britain, we are Britain
We are Britain, from Baghdad"

Was it my imagination, did the Israeli's try voting for America
