He's been fav in all, odds on in 13 of those and the biggest price in his 17 stakes wins was 11-8.

I take it that was the race at the Curragh where it lashed rain and one of O'Brien's nags was sent off odds on? To this day I've no idea why they fancied it so much.

Famous Name with 17. Acatenango, Ardross, Bregadier Gerard and Persian Punch each have 13, which according to Wikipedia is the record! There may be a french / Italian sprinter with a similar number.

No, it was at Leop and he was still fav at 11-8. The race you're thinking of, Famous Name was 4-5 and beat Jan Vermeer who was fancied to beat him and returned 5-4.

Golddikova won 15 stakes races

His sire (Dansili) never won a Group 1 either, though his form behind Kalinisi (St James's Palace) and Giant's Causeway (Sussex) is surely a fair way ahead of Famous Name's Group 1 near-misses.

The Jockey Club second seems a long time ago now.

Edit: maybe not as far as I though, on RPR at least.

Dansili: 126
Famous Name: 123

Danzig raced 3 times, he didn't win a stakes race before he got injured and was retired.

I presume we're talking European record? There's various US horses with amazing records (e.g. John Henry had 30 stakes wins).

Original question was GB/IRE record by Aragorn.
It would be nice to have a table comparing like with like; USA; Europe: Asia;etc
Clean drug free records may have more kudos in this politically correct whip free leftist pinko 50 shades of grey age.(joking!:D)

Limestone Lad was unbeaten in 9 handicap hurdles despite carting weights of Arkle proportions, but as he never won abroad was the Famous Name of his time

I went to check if he won at Down Royal. Alas, no.
